  1. thanks! i also appreciate the reorganizing of the trainer list so we can search for names
  2. i see! also, after quickly sifting through the trainer list, i saw that the gym leaders start at 153 but also are found at 764. the differences between the two seem to match the pokemon differences between Normal and Challenge Mode. thanks for clearing things up!
  3. oh, so basically this edits the normal version and challenge mode is stored elsewhere? i just wanted to be sure so that i play the right mode when changes are made. thanks!!!!
  4. ^thanks! but i'm curious, how does Challenge Mode or Easy Mode factor in to this? For instance, gym leaders in challenge mode have one more pokemon than they normally do and their moves/items are different as well. Do they have three different profiles for each of the difficulty levels?
  5. Hi, I've noticed that other people have changed TM moves in BW2 to different ones but I haven't found anything on how to do it. Where is the data stored and how do I extract it/edit it? Can anyone provide a tutorial? Thanks!
  6. ^ That would make a LOT of sense! After looking back at Drayano's tutorial, he highlights the first string of hex values that correlate to three specific lines (the 1%, 4%, and 15%) but if you look at the non-highlighted part of that same picture, the values are actually the same! So it means that the first part is probably White 2 and the second half is Black 2. Also, reading more carefully, Drayano does say that the example is for one version... and looking at the values in my grotto narc, the values really do correspond to Celebi and Magikarp (for some reason...) so I think you just solved my problem!
  7. I'm sorry to bring this up again, but has anyone decrypted the names? I'm an extreme novice when it comes to hex data.
  8. hi! i tried to edit Floccesy Ranch pokemon 15% to be all Eevee but for some reason i keep finding Celebi and Magikarp : / oh, and NONE of the pokemon in the other tabs are Celebi or Magikarp either so i dont know what's up. even when i change the pokemon to anything else there is still the same Celebi and Magikarp. i also found Quagsire and Watchog...any ideas? changing the items work okay, but even if i change pokemon of other places the pokemon are the same as original or something totally different.
  9. its one of the bugs regarding how certain legendaries appear when they shouldn't. in that room you actually shouldn't see anything yet when you first arrive with bianca. just ignore it until she leaves...
  10. in a/0/0/2 under 53, 180, 368, 382, 383, 409 there are lines with untranslated text and i was wondering if anyone could give a translated list. i suspect these are names of trainers or something like that. much appreciated!
  11. So is the stats editor just direct rom right now? also, are the narcs from b/w1 compatible? i would guess not because there are more forms added but it would be a pain to re-do all the crazy changes...or it could be a chance to make an entirely new project...hahaha. thanks so much for your work! oh also about compatibility of narcs...are things like move data able to be reused? since there aren't any new attacks added i was thinking that they wouldn't change that part of the rom, right?
  12. do you have any clue as to what "7" means under effect category? ive tried several different combinations between effect categories/effects/stat manipulations and i just cant figure out how to make it work. maybe there are other special conditions regarding the "all" stat manipulation.
  13. i had a cheap, quick fix for these problems a page ago. just replace all those files with another pokemon's. then just edit the movesets to what they should be or however you want. copy a working file like metapod or something and rename it to the ones that cause the error. then just edit the rest. good luck
  14. i came across this snag while i was messing with moves: i tried editing Memento to be a purely stat lowering move that lowers all stats by 1. when i tried using it in battle, it didn't work. all it did was say "so and so used memento" and then nothing even happened. however, when i tried to make it so it lowers attack, special attack, and evasion, it worked. has anyone successfully changed a move to lower all stats at once? i'd like to know what conditions must be in place. : /
  15. at the very least i know it is in the most recent version. i just downloaded it off the first page and it definitely has it so maybe try downloading that one? perhaps you have to lift the window up? the bottom part of the program may be under your task bar or something.
  16. now that you mention it......dang i cant believe i didn't catch that. i always just type the number. i should have known since it is the same with move names. it turned out it really was just me >___< your tool was great from the start. oh and here is a quick fix for the lickilicky problem. just copy any moveset file of a different pokemon and rename it to match the number corresponding to lickilicky. replace the old file and use the moveset editor to redo all of its moves. or you can use a hex editor but i think this is easier.
  17. well specifically i tried editing lilligant. i changed teeter dance to level 30, quiver dance to 35, petal dance to 46, and added stored power at 51. when i saved and look in the hex editor the places where the hex for 30, 35, 46, and 51 should be are all FFs. i just change them to the right hex values and that fixes the problem. a while back i also tried with shiftry where i gave him hurricane at level 36, between his original leaf tornado (lvl 19) and leaf storm (lvl 49). the hex sheet shows that the level 36 and even the 49 values turned into FFs. maybe its just me -___-
  18. here's what i found out: first i edit the level that a pokemon learns its moves. after i save, the same error occurs where i click on it again and it says there is an arithmetic error. i used a hex editor to see what is happening and i think that there are FF's where the learning level spaces are...i really dont know why that happens. with a little effort i think i can change it manually but i just dont see why it happens. a little more testing an it turns out that it happens to any pokemon that i try to edit the original move learning level. changing the move is fine, adding an entirely new move after the original moves is fine. just editing the level is causing this error. again, this is trivial to fix by using a hex editor. thanks for all the help and great tool twistedfatal!
  19. thanks twistedfatal. i think i found what i was doing wrong with adding the moves. i'll try to fix the ones i mentioned.
  20. thanks for the fixes. here are some more that give me similar errors when i click on them: Ralts (280), Nosepass (299), Skitty (300), Sableye (302), Grotle (388), and LickiLicky (463). is it normal to have an arithmetic error when you add an extra attack to a pokemon's moveset? for instance, on Shiftry i changed the level that it learns its normal moves, saved, and when i click on it again it gives an arithmetic error. i also changed Swellow's moveset to have an extra move and it gave errors too. in-game they either don't learn them or they don't learn anything for several levels. before, i only changed moves to different ones and that worked fine but now that i tried adding an entirely new move or just changing what level they learn them at, it doesn't register.
  21. hey twistedfatal. your moveset tool is just amazing! the only thing is that on certain pokemon there are errors that occur. specifically nuzleaf, taillow, swellow, wingull, and pelipper. there are arithmetic errors on each of them when i click on their names and their movesets looks distorted. i change all of their movesets to their original while saving each one separately. in-game they don't learn anything at all (i use rare candies). i then put the original moveset files back and taillow/wingull still dont learn anything. swellow and pelipper learn things but they aren't always the right moves or level can you please help with this? i first noticed this oddity when i battled a trainer who had a pelipper that only knew soak and growl. i dont know if anything else is like that but these are the most obvious ones i could find.
  22. hope everything is okay. if you have time can you tell what form number corresponds to what form? totally clueless as to what form of Rotom i am setting. thanks a lot for releasing it!
  23. do you still have any plans to release the tool? its been a while; are you still having trouble?
  24. i cant find the option to edit tm and hm. can someone point it out for me? also, Andibad how do you edit the pokemon's alternative forms
