  1. "legal" is more of a frame of mind. The difference is only in the "how" it was obtained, assuming that it is made such that the result is literally no different than if thousands of egg hatchings and such had been done.
  2. Never mind, after looking at others, I guess this is a bad topic. Go ahead and remove it. To note though: Due to the way things are, since Pentagon Marked Pokemon are the only officially-allowed Pokemon anyways, there is no point in sending up a Genned Pokemon other than for Breeding or PokeDex completion.
  3. In this case: 'Legit' is "No different than if it had been created properly in-game". In other words, has no impossible combination of Ball/Gender/Moves/Ability/Nature/Shininess/IV's/OT/Origin Game/Origin Language/Nickname/etc. (Yes, the Origin Game/Language/Nickname DO MATTER with certain Pokemon, mostly, but not entirely, Event-based, usually from Japan)
  4. True that it's not possible to hack anything in X/Y (that have been confirmed done, at least as far as I've found; I haven't managed to trade for a Latias with a Mega Stone so far), but about the Pentagon-Mark... according to the update on Serebii, 15-11-2013: 10:30: A thing that has been in question for a while since the launch of the game has been clarified. In the status screen for Pokémon, and seen in trades and in the box, you may have noticed a blue pentagon next to your Pokémon. The meaning of this had yet to be determined, but has been partially revealed today. This pentagon is a confirmation of being obtained in-game. If your Pokémon has this, it confirms it was obtained legitimately in-game or through event. If not, then it has an error and has been hacked, or potentially from another region. Edit @ 16:01: The literal definition of this pentagon, given by the Pokémon Company, is that the Pokémon is ok to use. This came from the rules of the upcoming Dragon tournament in Japan where, on looking deeper into the fine print, it is stated that Pokémon that were transferred from Black, White, Black 2 & White 2 cannot be used. There is a possibility that the mark could be for Pokémon obtained natively in the Kalos region, with other marks for Pokémon transferred, but this will not be made clear until December 25th when Pokémon Bank is released
  5. Actually, you CAN use your Black 2 OT/ID/SID. In theory, those numbers can occur on more than one system. I use my data from a past game for all my Genned Pokemon, regardless of which generation it's for, unless I have a special reason. PokeCheck is only any purpose if you care about using them in official situations (Random Match or tournaments).

<p><p><p><p><p><p>A year late, but here's the answer: The AR can't normally hold codes that long. You have to use the PC application. (Actually, even that usually has problems. The best known solution is to have a MicroSD AR DSi, which can do longer codes.)</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  7. Either way, anyone can just do that on their own with PokeGen. And the reason problems occur is because of having Shiny Forms that are not legally obtainable (all of them have the data in the game). This has been covered through this thread. Covered and solved. Because of how PokeGen works, there's really no point in putting a 'complete Dex' code anywhere, since there is no proper thing anymore. (you still can't have specific Shiny Pokemon. Originally, there were three Legends that you couldn't even have, though that is now not the case). If you have one that does what you want, cool! But it won't necessarily be the same anyone wants. This topic has been covered to death. ANY information to be known is already covered. The only likely exception would probably come when X & Y versions come out.
  8. As I said, it is a total customize. You choose you're IV's (it even has a function for getting your perfect IV's)
  9. Um, actually, that'd really be easier to just PokeGen (Downloadable on this very site! just do a quick search) them instead... Especially because: 1: If it's a hatched Pokemon (Legend or not), it says so in it's info, so that'd be a dead giveaway at it being cheated. (Only Phione can be freely hatched, of all Legendaries) 2: Usually the released level goes up, not down. (That's why legal Level 10 Celebi and Mew tend to be prized Pokemon) 3: Genning is just easier... Choose your level, Ability, stats (legal only, Gen V recalculates them after a fight), IV's, EV's, Attacks/PP's, OT/Hidden OT, Nickname, how you got it, where you got it, Shiny, Crown, Ribbons, Gender, etc. -It's literally the same as if you did all the stuff to get it normally (just... without actually doing it), so long as you make it correct and don't make any impossibilities (Such as particular Attack/Ability combos). If you don't care about Legality, then you can make whatever you want! Shuckle with Sheer Cold and No Guard? Can do. In the case of a Legendary, which can't be bred regardless, you may as well Gen. -When you Gen a Pokemon, you can add it (actually, you can do up to 6 simultaneously) to your game's PC with a simple code. (Or, for those without an AR, can use a server trick and 'get' it from a custom 'trade system' server. Hope this helps.
  10. If your Pokedex is empty, I suspect that'd also count as an illegal Dex. Just make sure that you've got at least the starters and a few others in it. As to my problem: Yep, I still can't figure out the trick to getting the Pokedex Code onto an ARDSi (I don't have the micro SD card one). If anyone knows how, please let me know?
  11. Ah... I hadn't read the details on it, only saw that the event itself is available from 08/07-07/31. Yeah, it'd be kinda hard to get before the serial code itself is available. Sorry about that.
  12. Thanks for the note! I had kinda figured this when going through, but it's nice (?) that someone found out and reported. Now if I could just get the code onto my ARDSi...
  13. I haven't found the Gochimiru Global Link Event on the lists... is that obtained yet? Also, is that a male/female-only, or either?
  14. Other than Walk-through-walls, I can't think of much that PokeGen doesn't already take care of. I guess there would be unlocking the different settings for the games, and re-allow In-game Events. Could we get any of the nice/useful codes posted on here? (I openly admit that I can't use http://cheats.gbatemp.net/forum, since I 'insulted a coder', which apparently results in an insta-ban with no expiration with no warning (can't even browse the site). I said a code was stupid, since it's effect is doable without cheating at all (do change the seasons, you just change the date on the DS system) [which I still would argue is not an insult of the coder, but that is moot point]. That was quite some time ago, but wisening up doesn't matter for that.)
  15. How did you start getting it? Have you tried the constantly-suggested (on this thread) use of PokeGen? If not, do so, that should fix it.
  16. Well, that didn't work. I deleted all the codes from the ARDSi, wiped the codes from the ARDSi Manager, added the Dex code, copied it over, checked it on the ARDSi... and it was blank. ugh... I don't remember how it was I had finally managed to get it to copy ALL my codes (Dex codes as well) to the ARDSi. So frustrating...
  17. I tried that. It's one of my first solutions, as well as resetting the ARDSi. I've been dealing with the 'finicky'-ness of that program since I first started using Pokegen (though my only problem is with the Dex code...) I'll try wiping all the codes from the manager, then just add that one (so it can't copy the code above it), but is it possible something has changed from one of the updates?
  18. ... wow, I feel really embarrassed to be asking for help on this thread again... So, some time back I'd managed to get the Pokedex code(s) onto my ARDSi, but it seems I'm having trouble again. The manager's files have the code correct, but when I move it to the ARDSi, it instead copies a different code, I think the one just before it in the data file. Is this the same problem (code too long) or something else? (I've not needed to use the Pokedex code for some time...)
  19. ... so, you used a "complete pokedex" code, your save info says you've seen all 649, but you can't enter the Pokedex? As in, the game crashes when you try to view your Pokedex? If so, first mistake: using a "complete Pokedex" code at all on a Gen V game. From the beginning of Gen V and all future games, using such a code is always a bad idea, as this entire thread shows. (You can NOT have a totally complete Pokedex and get away with it now; as in, you are blocked from Dream World if any non-legally-obtainable Pokemon/Forms are in your Dex.) Hopefully your code's effects can be overwritten; I'd try making a code for Pokedex using PokeGen and applying that (PokeGen lets you custom-set your Pokedex to however you want, so you can have a 'legally complete" dex).

  21. Good luck! (WOOT! YAY!!! Ah, could you please PM it to me? I guess I've kinda picked up the "always stay 'on topic'" thing, probably from getting rudely yelled at on various forums in my earlier times. ; )
  22. Sorry, but I'm pretty sure you did it wrong. Just use Pokegen. Make sure you have it set to target your Italian White version. The "erase Pokedex then capture a Pokemon" code has been made completely useless with the updates to Pokegen. As to what went wrong with your first attempt, 99.9% of Gen V codes are Region/Version-locked. That means a code needs to be written specifically for your Italian/White version to work properly (if at all). Close variant might still affect your game, but they will most likely work wrong or not how they were meant to. Be careful to make sure you're not using the wrong code for your game. By the way, I love your avatar! MOEMON ARCEUS! >_< You wouldn't happen to know where I could get the absolutely complete collection of them, would you?
  23. Bummer. ; Still neat though! Don't forget to post it to the B/W English code thread, I'm sure people will like those. (Though, at least one working Shiny code has been out for a long time for each game) But, like I said, it's normal for the code to not apply when it's not being applied. It doesn't alter the game's data on the likeliness of a Shiny appearing; it only affects the outcome while the code is active. I'd actually be worried if the code had a permanent effect (especially since I like lots of Pokemon in their normal colors. That and that would mean it was affecting the actual game's structure, which could have unforeseen VERY bad effects.)
  24. Hey, that's nifty! Any chance you could get one for Black? Also, have you tested if they are fully recognized? (Do they keep the Hidden Ability when they evolve/can it be bred?) I doubt that there would be a problem, but just wondering anyway. Wait, the Shiny code "wears off" when you turn off the DS? Do you mean that the Pokemon will stop being Shiny if you turn it off, or that you'll just stop constantly encountering Shiny Pokemon after you turn it off? All 'passive' codes are "disabled" when you turn off/soft-reset (R+L+Start+Select) the game. That's because they don't alter any save data, they just control what is normally a random (such as Shiny occurrences or a certain gender of Pokemon appearing). Only those that affect actual savable data don't "turn of", though it's really just what they affected being saved, not really the code itself lasting. Sorry if that was long-winded or confusing... ; Such is how I am, it seems.
  25. >_< Well, it certainly works! Just updated and checked. As for the text cutoffs... it looks like that got fixed as well.
