  1. This is not a Gen/Trade request thread. There are groups that exist for that. Go find them. (At least two exist on Facebook, which I am an admin on, with two different spellings of PokeGen)
  2. I've noticed that the Wondercard files for Gen VI are still not hosted, with this statement: "Files will not be hosted here until file editing becomes available." Considering that PKHeX does exactly this, why isn't the Wondercard project moving forward as well? I can't believe I'm the only person who wants to get those Events that way. I know many people can't use them as it is, since they don't have a Japanese game, but I don't really care about that, since the same applied in past generations with people who didn't have an Action Replay, price difference aside. Also, those could then be more easily used to start the design of that Pokemon as a file then given to someone who could Gen them for that person.
  3. At least say it right: "A flash cart's STATED primary funtion..." The only reason it exists is OBVIOUSLY only for illegal purposes, as it would have no real use otherwise. No one is going to buy a retail cart and think "hey I'm likely to need a way to backup this game in case I lose it". You only buy it if you intend for piracy, no matter how much fancy lies you spout.
  4. ... Wow. I've never hoped for Nintendo to enforce via bricking modded systems more than now.
  5. The only battle wins you can edit are Battle Maison, go to Trainer Data. As to what to set your character outfit data for glitch stuff... you'll just have to test that yourself. (Sure gives an easy tell of being a cheater online though).
  6. @Waitress_Tsubame: Yes. The program allows backing up a save file, which can be restored at any time. (This feature is also shared with Powersaves, so if something like cloning is your main interest, since obtaining Pokemon is easily done via GTS/trade boards or just breeding and such) Some features haven't been extensively tested for bugs, since they are of little interest to most people, so be sure to back up your save before any changes! (Cyber backs it up by default, but that can be turned off). Be sure to report any bugs that you do come across.
  7. Yep. If you don't have a Japanese 3DS and the game is new/doesn't have a save file, you wasted your money. So buy the 3DS if you do it at all. If you get an X/Y that isn't an earlier release, then you can't use Cyber on it, as it has a slightly different save coding, thus again you wasting your money. (Unless this has been updated, but none that I've heard).
  8. The main difference is that Cyber allows hex-edits, as well as custom codes, whereas Datel does not. They both have pre-set lists of specific codes that can not be changed, and are downloaded when you load the program. They can change the codes and add/remove them at will, regardless of what you want. -Powersaves' Wonder Cards are often just hacks that let you just GET the Pokemon, NOT the actual Event Pokemon. This is particularly the case with anything that is not yet released. Due to Cyber allowing user-end work, PKHeX can read the temporary copy of the save file, edit it per the changes you make using the program, then that will get uploaded back to your game, allowing custom Pokemon, variable Item storage, custom Pokedex, adding/re-activating Wondercards, anything the program supports. If you don't already import, however, it's quite a huge cost, simply to be a cheater rather than just do it the correct way. (Breeding a Perfect Pokemon is WAY easy now, and unreleased Pokemon CAN NOT be traded online) Also, apparent with the latest update, they are stepping up security, and making it easier to block imperfectly-made (ie: illegal/hacked) Pokemon. Who knows if it's much longer before Bans start popping up with it? (Smash Bros. 3DS has already done so, if evidence is desired)
  9. I believe he means this error, which I also have gotten on most releases: "Alert Attempted to load previous generation PKM. Conversion failed." Having just tested this myself using a PKM file that I also then successfully loaded in PokeGen (where I originally made it), this problem has yet to be fixed. This problem occurs regardless of being Gen III-V PKM. edit: I think I managed to attach the file I tested with, if you want to try it to confirm on yours. Gardevoir.pkm
  10. Nice to know they are cracking down on this! That's why I keep going on about enforcing making "legal" builds for hacking, because it matters. People will find it a little annoying if they use their hack online (shooting themselves in the foot) when they decide to start handing out bans for doing so (Like Smash Bros. 3DS already has, for some cases; I only know of temporary bans, and mostly from a glitch, but it IS happening). Nintendo is no longer the "users can hack all they want without restraint or punishment" club, and people are just going to have to grow up and do things straight, like they already should.
  11. Powersaves isn't universally used (obviously, or this thread would be pointless), and cheating isn't only done by Powersaves. People who instead use Cyber, such as me, want to be have access to Events as well. Whether it's only currently usable by Japanese-version users is irrelevant to it's usefulness. Previously, PokeGen was in the same boat, being the only really used method to inject Wondercards (except for those that used PokeSav, I guess? I never did, too hard to use). Also, Powerssaves' method of inserting stuff is annoyingly limited, to just one injection at a time, where with PKHeX+Cyber you can insert any number of Wondercards at once, or just use them as the base to make your Perfect version of it (which Powersaves can't do flat out). And you only have access to any Events that Powersaves LETS you have. Doesn't matter if they are new or old, they get to choose for you. (Ex: missed a past Event and they removed the code? Sucks to be you.)
  12. The best source for gen IV/V Event Pokemon (and hopefully soon Gen VI) is always the actual Wondercards, also found here: http://projectpokemon.org/events Just load them into PokeGen, or whatever your editor is, and make the small edits you need for it to be what you wanted. (I'm sure Pokecheck basically did the same thing, but I simply have never had reason or cause to trust their files in the first place, so never bothered to check those against the real thing, which I do do when I use one from Project Pokemon despite my trusting these ones) While Pokecheck was the certainly the easy way to check legality, the number of complaints about Pokecheck marking something incorrectly "legal" or "nonlegal" when it was truly the opposite have always made me mark it down. Admittedly, I've never taken the time to test it myself as I've never been willing to design something to be anything less than "legal" in the first place, and I always used an AR to Gen anyways. Either way, be any facts or opinions about whatever as they may, there is no real alternative to PKHeX+Cyber Editor+Japanese Region available or coming up that is known to the public. (Given the history of my statements like this [over the last decade or so?], expect one within the week... ; ) If there is one, it will spread like Chandra's wildfires with unmistakable supporting proof. Until then, the best you have is: c) Shell out $400-500 to cheat in a game. You won't even be making use of most of that money for any other game series, or more than 4 games (at present) for that matter. (I import to begin with, since I hate the imported dubs/translations. Yes, I read Japanese. I mostly like the ability to clone, so I can share Events to the people who miss them/can't get them/would likely only be able to otherwise by trading their only copy of another Event/Legend/Mega Stone to someone else who has an unlimited supply of those already) b) Make the Pokemon yourself, then find someone who will Gen them for you. (I help mod a couple groups that do this, as I often keep noting here. I do more of help with designing the Legal Pokemon than Genning, since I don't have much time for that. I only take either special requests, as I deem them, or for friends.) a) Just play the game properly and enjoy the (preferably NOT revealed early, so they would be SUPER COOL, rather than just "hey, give me my free Black Lotus already you stingy jerks") Events and breeding and such the way you did when you first ecstatically played this gem of a series. (Unless you just cheated from the beginning and only play because you are super-competitive and can't just not be a top-tier battler in a video game that is popular worldwide but can't bother to spend the time to do things the way it was meant to be in the first place like the far majority of players and most of the top-tier battlers as well despite the fact that that's the only reason you even play the games other than enjoying the new storyline your first time through. Or whatever, I don't really care what someone else's reason is.) Sigh... So, whatever. This has been sadly detracting from the real question anyways: How much longer until the Gen VI Wondercards get listed properly anyways? There is no feature I've been itching for more than this!
  13. They've been saying that same thing for at least the last 6 months, and well before the gen III remakes were announced, saying "It's expected next month". That's a lot of 'next months' with absolutely no evidence that they are anything more than a dead trend that wasn't even a particularly good checker to begin with.
  14. Most likely, Pokecheck is dead from now on. Like with the Battle Scan (view your opponent's full team and all details, and what Move(s) they chose for the turn in an online battle) and Trade Scan (view the full data of a Pokemon shown in an online trade) programs getting patched against, I can't see they'd let anything like Pokecheck get by. The only thing that's going to work is external changes directly to the save file, and only two companies are known to have the encryption ability required to do so, and only one of them (Cyber) allows open-editing.
  15. ; Ah, mixed up names again. In that case, not even worth getting until it's released then. It CAN be traded online, but only with a Friend (Code), and only after it will pass the Legal Check (which it obviously fails right now).
  16. Datel did, both for Japan and international. They just don't allow user-side editing and there is no sign that they have any intention of changing that, so it's best to just give up. If you want a Volcanion. just use the GTS and learn to breed. Game Freak made it so easy to breed 5-6x 31 IV Pokemon with whatever ability you want and even be Shiny and in the Ball of your choice and etc. that it's almost unfair to all those who did it in past games. You don't need to cheat to do something they literally made so easy.
  17. Sorry, but your reading-fu isn't trained enough either. As the first post says, and far too many times throughout this and every related thread about it has re-reminded people, there is not and to any person's knowledge will not be any non-Japanese support for Genning. This question is getting extremely annoying to everyone, since it has had the same answer since day one. There is no room for hope. Only choice is spend around $400-500 to cheat, or to just raise your Pokemon properly. If there IS a change in that state, it will be huge news and spread like wildfire. But to anyone's knowledge, not happening.
  18. The easy way to tell would just to trade it to someone with a Japanese game and PKHeX and they could check it, as well as clone it. But as far as I know, the System Region data is based on the 3DS Console Settings, not the game's internal Region setting (which is what the code would affect)
  19. That's not the same. If it's obtained on a Japanese 3DS, it will have a different Region Tag from the Language Tag. If you want to change the Region Tag, you'll have to use PKHeX (for which, why else would you even have commented on here?)
  20. No, it can't. No, there is no way.
  21. I wasn't referring to just local events. If an even works for different regions, hurray. However, there are events that are region-locked (such as Wi-Fi events), and that does matter, if only to people like me who only cheat and support cheating for 'legal' Pokemon. (ie: yes, if I know a person is cheating for a non-legal, no matter how small the difference, I will not help them get it) But if you want to have a different Region set for an Event, just change the Region data in that Pokemon file. No reason to change anything else.
  22. The language of the Event obtained is not an issue any more, as a game can be set to any of the languages when you start. The difference will be in the 3DS Region setting that is noted when the Event is obtained.
  23. I guess you got it working then? Congratulations! If you need help with Genning a Pokemon (Yes, you DO need to also make your Pokemon "legal" or they won't be allowed online, either for battles or trading, and doing so takes time and research), then I also help run a couple of Genning groups on Facebook. they go by the name "PokeGen", the previous program used to Gen Pokemon.
  24. Like I told you, you have to do a totally fresh install in Japanese and update it in Japanese. If you see English text, you're doing it wrong and it won't work. There's no shortcut, no translation patch for that part. Just keep hitting OK or whatever the affirmative option appears to be in Japanese until it loads to just the Save Load screen.
