    I tried it on my copy and can reproduce it, although I have no idea what's causing that. Are you sure that the backup Pokegen created is the same as what you had before you did any editing? If you have access to the very original, try that. Because you're having trouble with the backup, that indicates that either you saved multiple times and it overwrote the very original, or the problem is outside of Pokegen.

    Somewhere in the middle, really. I've never stopped to think what kind of landscape I'm in. I guess wherever the weather can be accurately defined by the function rand(). (That probably has little to do with the form of Vivillon though.)

    I'm in the US and caught the modern pattern. (image from Serebii.net) I must have seen the meadow pattern in-game because I have both the modern and meadow in my Pokedex.

    Thanks for pointing all that out! Updated OP, removing old shops, adding Amazon for the NDS Backup Adapter Plus, and warning which games this doesn't work for.

    As long as all the Pokémon you edit in could have been obtained in one of the games given the right circumstances (in other words, as long as they're legal). I also updated the OP, removing some outdated shops.

    Kaphotics posted ways to read various values in C based programming languages. % gets the remainder of the PID after dividing by the next number. << and >> are bit shifts (look it up, I'm posting on a phone and can't really explain). If you want to do it the way shown in the article, that's ok, you'll just have to think through it a little.

    Are you also updating the ability outside the PID field? The ability given by the PID does not control it. You can set the ability to anything, even Wonder Guard. This of course would be illegal, but shows that the PID has little influence on it after the Pokemon is made.

    Yes. Most 3DS saves too (I read somewhere that it doesn't work on Pokemon X and Y, an update may fix it later).

    I have no experience with the R4i Save Dongle. I like the NDS Backup Adapter Plus (easy to use). The SMS4 required two programs in my experience, but there's an update I haven't tried yet.

    I haven't looked at the pkm yet, but it sounds like nothing's wrong. The nickname overwrites the original name, adds the terminator, and ignores all characters after it. If Pokecheck says it's legal, then don't worry.

    Welcome to the forums, Salesmon! That's an impressive picture you posted. My monitor couldn't handle its massiveness and required horizontal scrolling, so I put spoiler tags around it.

    You can do that with a downloadable tool from the eShop, though it's one way. I thought you meant to get a raw sav through tools similar to these.

    Try looking for an AP patch. If that doesn't work, then it may be your cart. The Gei isn't the best cart out there. The Supercard DSTWO or things that run Wood R4 are better.
