    just use this patch it works perfectly for both us an eu version of heartgold and soulsilver and i use R4 ...... no freeze scince monday when i got the patch **REMOVED**

    first extract the the save file fom the usb to ur desktop, delet the one on ur usb, after editing save the file and MAKE SURE U SAVE IT AS 512KB then drag the file back to ur usb I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT FIGURED IT OUT

    my first ever shiney was a tentacool but i eventually lost the file on my sappire caught vulpix and zigzagoon shineis on first encounter of each spice but my friends deleted the saved game BUT victory, i eventually caught a shiney spinda
