    Bug: Menus

Thanks to dNice's cooperation, this has finally been resolved. It turned out to be a quirk of Windows that allowed improper UI code to work for most people. Beta 16 will have the fix.

    Bug: Menus

We'll do this over PMs, as I don't want random people downloading these versions.

    Bug: Menus

The fact that none of the other menus work as well is bothersome. The code is flawless. I just checked. Aside from a problem on your end, I have no explanation for what could be causing this. I could attempt to figure out exactly what's going on if you want to, but it'll require a bit of your time. I'll have to send you unique copies of the program to attempt to diagnose it.

    Bug: Menus

"Load" is in the "File" menu. There is no such thing in any tab. Also, you mention that "any other buttons" don't work. Are you referring to actual BUTTONS on the TABS or other MENU ITEMS in the "File" MENU? Regardless, I think this problem was mentioned before by someone else, but I have no explanation for it. Do other programs on your computer not function correctly? Edit: The operating system you're using and whether or not it's 64 bit may be helpful as well.

Modifications of ROMs CAN affect how codes work. The translation project's modifications, however, don't affect codes. I have no idea what you've done to your ROM. ...I don't know how this part isn't self-explanatory. Codes can interfere with each other and make a normally functional code non-functional. Disable all other codes except the one you're trying to see if it really works. (This is extreme common sense.) You could have a save file that's partially screwed up from some sort of tampering that you've done yourself or with other programs. (Maybe even earlier versions of the beta of PokeGen, but I doubt that.) You may be doing something else that you're not supposed to do that's well documented somewhere and you simply haven't taken the time to read. I really don't want to hold your hand any more than I already have at this point.

It's not PokeGen. You're using a modified ROM, an interfering code, or managing to do SOMETHING else wrong.

You're probably generating codes for Black, or using some other code that's screwing it up. PokeGen isn't the problem.

  11. It uses the currently selected program language to determine what Pokemon nicknames should be valid. In the case of English, it thinks the Romanized names are non-nicknamed only. (Something that shouldn't have been done for sure.) As has been stated elsewhere, there's a nicknamed checkbox in beta 16. (It's getting close, btw.)
  12. I didn't see "Maybe this is supposed to happen?" when I first read the post, so I guess I should apologize. Also, this isn't a "problem" in the program. The Pokemon structure has insufficient data to accurately detect the met game in every circumstance.
  13. ...this is just more convincing that the tooltips are useless. Nobody reads them. Ever.
  14. You're not getting it. The PID is meaningless except to extremists that're too stubborn to realize they're being ridiculous. A random PID is fine in ALL CASES.
  15. It's perfect with a random PID.
  16. The beta version of PokeGen has a Pokedex editor, which is what you want. However, it hasn't been verified to be perfect yet.
  17. If you agree, you should be helping to eradicate this mindset, not help it proliferate!
  18. We know of nothing belonging to Nintendo that checks PIDs for some correlation between it and the IVs. So, I ask, why does anyone care? This is so redundant and annoying. The only thing that comes to mind is someone with OCD who just can't go on with their life with the knowledge that their data wasn't generated by the DS hardware through the Pokemon cartridge.
  19. All future updates will be in zip form, btw. PokeGen 3.0b15.zip PokeGen 2.312.zip
  20. Look at the happiness tooltip.
  21. That actually is a good point if you just want to generate a code for a party Pokemon without loading a save file first. I'll have to do something about that.
  22. I don't understand the confusion here. (Also, this should be in the PokeGen section.) You simply fill out Pokemon data, right click the second slot, and set it.

  24. For generation 4 games, the PID determines the nature. You can only select the nature on the main tab if the PID editbox is blank, as that means a random PID matching the data you provide will be generated.
  25. Based on Pokesav? It needs more empty space and disorganization!
