kyle72686
I just added those to the first post. Thanks, Kalaxe. Does anyone have access to the different Cosplay Pikachu from ORAS? I think those are the only animated sprites I don't have at this point. Oh, and shiny Unown. theSLAYER
Yeah. For the Ash Cap Pikachus, they programmed the Pikachus to have the exact same model and coloration, even when shiny. So it'll have sparkles, but look exactly the same as a non-shiny.

It is possible to capture your front sprite but impossible your backsprite. When you change Pikachu cosplay to something costume the person teach you how it is and there it is possible to capture your frontsprite, but your backsprite is impossible, the pokedex does not recognize them. Drk
Many thanks to the people in this thread who helped extract the US/UM animated sprites; you're doing the community a great service! I'm also working on compiling a collection of all 3D model animated sprite gifs (and I mean all of them, including alt forms, shiny/back sprites, etc). If anyone can point me in the direction of any of these gifs (or rip them if they don't exist yet, or give instructions on how to rip them) I would greatly appreciate it: Unown - all shiny front sprites except X, all shiny back sprites except P all Sun/Moon shiny back sprites (Rowlet through Marshadow, alt forms, Alolan forms, new Zygarde forms, the yet-unreleased Magearna form) shiny back sprites for alt Arceus forms normal and shiny back sprites for Shellos East (the blue Shellos) normal and shiny back sprites for Fancy Vivillon normal and shiny back sprites for Poké Ball Vivillon normal and shiny, front and back, sprites for all the Totems normal and shiny back sprites for all gen 1-4 Pokémon with gender differences (https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pokémon_with_gender_differences) normal and shiny back sprites for female Unfezant, Frillish, and Jellicent I don't know how many of those (if any) already exist, but once they do, we'll have all the possible sprite variations. Not completely impossible. There's a way around this problem, but it's tedious. Hack the garc containing Pokemon models, and clone the costume files over other Pokemon files. (Let's say, replace the first few Pokemon with the Pikachu costumes) Then load the garc using layeredFS, salthax, or luma's layered loading. That's how I managed to take screenshots of out-of-Alola-dex Pokemon for SM for bulbapedia. 13 hours ago, Drk said: I'm also working on compiling a collection of all 3D model animated sprite gifs (and I mean all of them, including alt forms, shiny/back sprites, etc). Get citra + plus the game (don't ask where to get roms) or a 3DS with capture card + the game or NTR CFW to stream the gameplay to your computer. 2. Complete the Pokedex (hacking or otherwise) 3. Enter the "viewing" mode of Pokedex, zoom all the way out (the L and R bumpers/buttons of the 3DS controls that.) 4. Record video of the animation. One video for front, one video for back (my obs settings if you use that program to record desktop video) 5. Splice the video into individual picture frames (with sites such as ezgif) 6. Manually remove the background from every frame, and remove repeat/looped frames. 7. Apply partial transparency to stuff that has transparency, if necessary. (explainer/example thread) 8. recompile the frames as gif (or apng if it has partial transparency)

New Pokemon (Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, Blacephalon, Zeraora) 2. New formes (Partner Cap Pikachu, all Necrozma formes, Dusk Lycanroc) 3. Old formes (ORAS costume pikas, Ash Greninja, Spiky Ear Pichu) 4. Random new official artwork (or newly HD) (Shiny Zygarde and Legendary 2018 artwork.) Bonus: and an oddity: Entry 722 is Type:Null? Additionally, if we're adding animated backsprites, we can add in the ones above that were compiled. at this point I've yet to check if Pkparaiso's download contained backsprites (they do, but I'm not adding them to the zip at this time), but Pokemon wikia certainly has a bunch. Here's the zip of some of them: Images for imagedex.rar We are also missing animated front gifs (or even basic sprites) for Costume Pikas.

It would greatly help if you or someone could sort these into the following directory structure: /XXX YYYY/Animated ZZZZ.gif Where XXX is the 3-digit dex number (like 001), YYYY is the Pokémon name (like Bulbasaur), and ZZZZ is a description (like Normal, Shiny or Alolan). This is would be a big help because the gallery is published by an automated tool.
Guest
I'll do it. Also I can't really think straight right now, but is there anything that's still completely missing and still needs to be "dumped"? and if so, which ones? Not sure if I understood the request completely, but this should at least be more manageable I hope. Which means, On 1/23/2018 at 8:16 PM, Ammako said: is there anything that's still completely missing and still needs to be "dumped"? and if so, which ones? Shiny Unown forms and Totem forms, at minimum (since the imagedex here doesn't deal in backsprites (yet?)) I haven't gone through the imagedex thoroughly, but it looks like most of the gen 6/7 animations are sourced from Pkparaiso's various dumps. So anything that was missing in those would be missing here, such as the alternate Arceus forms. Any missing sprites that have ever been dumped can most likely be found in the Pokémon Showdown image files, in the various /xyani directories. And then there's the attack animations, which Pkparaiso only dumped for a special few fully evolved Pokémon in X/Y - but whose animations are now in the projectpokemon imagedex. So I hope you aren't a perfectionist, because getting all those dumped sounds like it would be a nightmare.
theSLAYER
Might wanna check PKParaiso for Shiny Unown formes. They got a few downloads on their site. Yeah, we don't have the totems right now. figured it wasn't on anyone's priorities list, since it looks the same, but bigger. Yeah, we credited at our event gallery page PKParaiso for their brilliant animated images. We understand it isn't easy to rip out the images and remove the background. We also went ahead to add transparency to some of them. (that's also an incomplete task at this moment) Presently I'm not too worried about the attacking animations, since our event gallery uses their standard pose. (having it attack non-stop might be a bit too much for my tastes.. I mean, isn't that tiring? XD)

Based on the high quality (for its huge size), and the depth of the lines, I think it is recorded on Citra @ large screen. (For that size, it would appear more pixelised if it wasn't recorded on citra) Also, shrinking it will likely cause issues (as mentioned previously with shrinking the Poipole) edit: actually due to how thick the lines are, downscaling it to the correct size might actually work. Kalaxe
don´t worry about capturing the sprites. On February 10, I will make a new post and say what I am going to capture. I will try to cover all the missing sprites, not just the backsprites shinys of gen 7 Edited January 28, 2018 by Kalaxe
Ellicrum
Hi, I just discovered this forum and I wonder if this is not the best place to solve this problem. There is in many sprites since the gen 6 the "blues wings syndrome" (the background of Pokedex). I have referenced here all sprites that are concerned (I may have forgotten some): And for comparison, some sprites without a blue background (from Bulbapedia but which are not moving): The most obvious case is Pheromosa, which with the "waves" behind give a horrible aspect. Two details: * Tyrunt is here because the clipping is not optimal * I have a doubt for Greninja-Ash: it is possible that the "wave effect" is present in the original sprite I know this is not the precise theme of this discussion (USUM sprites). Also some sprites already exist without this blue background (but I do not have it in my possession). Is it possible to put corrected sprites here? On the other hand, it would be too much to ask to put in bonus the female, back and shiny versions Edited January 29, 2018 by Ellicrum
theSLAYER
@Ellicrum The sprites on Bulbapedia are clean, is because I cleaned out the background. We already have a thread relating to cleaning up the animated sprites. Read this: https://projectpokemon.org/home/forums/topic/41471-volunteers-needed-with-cleaning-animated-gifs-for-event-gallery/ edit: tried getting some images, quality may be bad.
