randomspot555 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Well, since the game shares the same name as the name of the real player, they assume that Gold is the main name, considering the fact that Silver is your rival's name. Even so, that's just the name. The differences between two versions are relatively minor and mostly, if not completely, are just about version exclusives. I don't see how one is more main than the other when they both have the same game with the same plot with just a different selection of Pokes.
evandixon Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Isn't it too early to be asking this? I mean, the infromation about it was JUST released. Take Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky for example: we've known about it for a LONG time now, and Japan doesn't even have it yet.

I'm not the cause of the sales that happened to match the trainers names. I'm guessing that's how it works.

Take Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky for example: we've known about it for a LONG time now, and Japan doesn't even have it yet. I thought Japan already had it? And also we can take the originals as a rule of thumb when speculating how many will sell of each version as a ratio not exact numbers.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Sky Blue is still in the process of being released there. I don't care much for the Mystery Dungeons though. Anyways, does anyone else believe that the reason Red sold more then Blue and Gold sold more then Silver was due to the fact that they matched the player's name?
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Okay I thought I read it was out but it must be that the ROM was leaked already.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 That's off topic. Now anyways, I will most definately be buying both games, probably two of SS and HG for the female character. I think I might not though.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Sorry I go carried away but these games will definatly both sell well and I can't wait for them.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Yeah. I just have a feeling Gold will sell more then Silver again.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 You never now the fans could have a change of heart and they are almost the same anyway. It is still money to the company.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I've decided to buy HG and get SS later. It's for the best.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 That will save you in the long run money wise $60 is a lot to throw down on the DS game wise.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Cool, so one now, one later. HG and SS here I come!
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Yah and me to I will get you games(I still don't have the english Platinum I am happy with my Jap copy). So I need to decide if I want to get the English one After I buy the Japanese copy.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I might get an import as well. Autumn, can't wait.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Imports are fun and I beat it three times already and I don't no a speck of Japanese. I mean it would help a lot but it was still fun without it.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Imports are actually helping me learn some KataKana. Now I'm going to have to wait weeks for it to arrive upon its release. This is going to be a long wait.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 That's why I want to go get it personally, and I have never been to Japan before(my lucky brother got to thought, I went to China instead).
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Sigh, I hate waiting. But it is worth it for such an amazing game remake as this.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Undoubtedly true can't wait to purchase such an amazing game.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I know. I am to hyped, this wait will be forever.
bear831 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Yah the wait is what is the worst thing about new games.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Who wants to wait? That's the most terrible thing ever, especially when they announce it just to hype you now.
