  1. Ok so my whole idea behind this ROM hack is to basically up the difficulty level of Black and White. Here are the ways I am doing this. -Increasing the level curve -Adding in Stronger and more diverse wild pokemon -Giving every gym leader six pokemon -Modifying the stats of some pokemon (including things like type and ability) -Modifying move data to make some moves more useful -Editing Item locations So far, I have edited the stats of every pokemon I wanted to edit, and I have changed the movepools of the starters and the monkeys and all their evolutions. I have also edited quite a few of the weaker moves. Here's just a sample of my work. The tepig line are now all fire/ground, and of course learn some Ground type moves. Emboar and Pignite learn Close Combat in place of Roar as well, as even though they are now Ground types, I still feel like this move suits them. While Snivy and Servine are unchanged, Serperior is now a Grass/Poison type. It learns a new-and-impreoved Poison Tail upon evolution, and it has a new ability. As you could guess, it now learns quite a few other poison type moves, some of them by leveling, some by using a Heart Scale. Dewott and Samurrot are now part Dark type, because I feel that the Dark type suits a Samurai better than a fighting type. As most dark types do, they now have a few tricks up their sleeves, such as the Weak Armor ability, which, while making them more vulnerable, can increase their speed quite a bit. Archen and Archeops have dropped their terrible Defeatist ability for Moody, which changes them from a pokemon that pretty much has to one hit kill everything or it's doomed, to a High-risk, High reward pokemon. Many of the HMs have been edited to make them more useful, such as cut changing to Grass type with 70 Power. Strength has been changed to a fighting type move with 90 Power, and Waterfall is now on Par with Surf in base power. Of course, the move data changes are not only limited to the HMs, Rock Smash and Rock Climb are now Rock type moves, which could possibly give Pokemon like Scolipede and Scrafty a new option. All of the elemental monkeys now have a fighting subtype, and of course learn a few new moves to reflect that. Progress Move editing 100% (unless I change my mind about something) Pokemon Moveset editing around 50%, i still have to do the TM/HM compatability (unless a request is made that I decide to use) Item location editing 0% (actually, if I could get some help on exactly how to do this that would be great) Trainer editing up to about the end of Route 2 Wild Pokemon editing up to Route 3 Text editing (usually to go along with item location changes) 0% Edit: Oh, and one last thing, I would prefer not to add any pokemon from previous generations. The only exception would be if it was impossible to make a gym leader have 6 pokemon without doing that. EDIT 2: Come to think of it, since I have been doing this, Shouldn't it go in Progressive Edits?
  2. Hack of: Pokemon White Wish Unova played like a more Difficult Pokemon game while still following the Unova Rule*? Wish the Pokemon of Unova had decent Level-Up movepools? Wish the Trainers were tougher without being stupidly tough? Wish Certain Pokemon were available earlier earlier? Wish You could be a shut-in and still get those pesky Trade Evolvers? *Unova Rule-Only Unova Pokemon Pre-Game Well Look No Further! Pokemon Purest White! Level-Up Moves have changed. Later Trainers all carry Eviolites on their Unevolved Pokemon (All Gym Leaders bar-Straiton use it) Veterans use Max Revives Ace Trainers use Full Restores Wild Pokemon Locations have sitched up a bit (Vullaby in Route 4, Pidove & Minccino on Route 1, Klink on Driftveil Bridge, etc...) Team Plasma's Roster has been upgraded to incude: Karrablast line, Shelmet Line, and Pawniard Line. Dark Grass is much tougher and will rarely yeild evolved forms of Pokemon found on the Route. Shaking Grass now yeilds extremely tough pokemon in addition to Audinos. Nurses and Docters are now EXP Clerics. Gym Leaders are Tougher too, (I had to redo Striaton and Nimbasa several times). The E4 still use 4 Pokemon, but the levels are increased to compensate. Alder has a different roster. Cynthia uses her Platinum team. To evolve Trade Evolution Pokemon- Normal Trade-Level Up at Night Holding the Gem that equals their Type. Item Trade-Level Up holding Item Specific Pokemon Trade-Level with that Pokemon in Party. Thanks to Shaqnel from YouTube for the RBY wild theme used in Wild Battles. [video=youtube;wFwi4pJUAgQ] [video=youtube;1DGfD4fkaU8] [video=youtube;H2geNAdY0HI] All that's left to do- Update a few more Pokemon's Movesets. Change a few TM attacks* Fix the glitched up Trainer sprites Find a Good Patch Creator-Suggest PLEASE! *Anyone know where the TM data is held? I wanna change a few, like Bug Opposition to Signal Beam.
  3. After seeing many Pokemon ROM hacks, and not liking most of them. I have decided to make my own, suiting my own desires; that in which I like to call "Absurd level of difficulty that is absolutely not for the faint of heart" As a rule, I dislike breaking the game by editing bases stats and adding moves that the player can have access to. Instead, I like to give advantages to the AI to make up for their lack of perception of danger, one in which is giving AI moves that they cannot learn normally (most of the time would be because that I cannot give a specific type of Hidden Power to the AI, ie. Chandelure with Aura Sphere). While the AI may have to edge, I do not wish for it to be impossible, since that will be unplayable and it will defeat the purpose. I want it to challenge the player's resource management, as well as knowledge of moves when paired with certainly abilities (since legal move combos are totally out of the window). In addition, almost every forced trainer battle will be custom tailored to a theme, unlike most hacks, I want most of the trainers to have diverse type coverage, as that is is very true difficulty lies. Think back to Stadium 2, where most trainers in Round 2 have a specific strategy, and that's what I am aiming for. Gym Leaders, and Elite Fours, as well, will not just have one type of Pokemon (I mean what is the difficulty in filling Burgh's team with 6 Bug Pokemon that can be Stone Edged?) Instead, each leader will have some sort of center piece Pokemon that the team is build from, covering their weaknesses from top to bottom, as utilizing moves such as U-turn and Volt Switch to make sure the match is not an easy one. There is a few things I like to hack that is beyond hacking trainers, and I would appreciate it if you could lend your expertise. - Forcing Battle Style to set Getting a free switch upon fainting a Pokemon offers tremendous advantages, not to mention you are told what Pokemon are being sent out! If linked battles are forced to use set function, I want the main game to have the same as well. This is only important if I ever decide to distribute this, but I want to know if this can be done. - Leader rematches, and EV trainers. The level curve of this game will be unforgiving, I want to offer level up opportunities for the player, as well as certain EV trainers that can be challenged again and again in order to perfect the EVs. Most end game bosses, and post-game bosses will require planning and good EV Spreads. If someone can tell me how it is done, please let me know. - EV reduction berries Linked with above, I need a way to distribute these as it is not possible to obtain them through normal gameplay. - 1st N Battle? Little question, but is it possible to proceed with the plot if you lose the 1st battle with N in the very beginning of the game? - Pairing up with Cheren in Wellspring Cave: Is it possible to change Chren's party when is allied with you, for the sake of consistency? I will appreciate any thoughtful input, thank you.
  4. Okay, so i have never seen this before nor have i ever seen anyone discuss this anywhere (however i may be wrong...) Basically what i am doing is taking the Hoenn region and adding a way to get there from Kanto. yeah, its not really descriptive, but refer to the video to see what i mean. my final goal is to get gold/silver added in as well, however i am not sure how long it will take to get Hoenn added into Kanto... [video=youtube;ydF24b_P0FE] video of V0.1 V0.2 Video [video=youtube;EdubY4rr610] link to the v0.2 patch is on the video im currently working on a 0.3 but it wont be out for a while until i can get some more things working, and if i can figure out if there is an easy way to import scripts from r/s/e into fr/lg
  5. Hey all. I planned to make a remake of pokémon Diamond but I don't have an cool story line. I made other evolutions methods but I want someone who makes new gym leaders, a cool storyline, someone who know how to script,... It is also possible to have multype people helping me. I just wanna have a cool Diamond. Please help me...
  6. And I have no clue where to start! Let me start off by saying that I am totally new to anything dealing with sprites, scripting, editing, etc.; I have been scanning this site and various others about two days, looking for a good starting point with this and decided to ask the forum itself. Now before I go any further let me tell you what it is I want to do with this project. In a nutshell, recently I have been almost constantly thinking of, constructing and building ideas to what I think would be a really kick-ass Pokemon sequel. I want to take the layout of an already constructed game (been leaning towards either HG/SS or Platinum and can't decide which would fit the storyline best), I want to strip the game apart and change literally everything in it. e.g. implement new characters, plot, maps (while keeping them in the same cities), areas, etc etc. I don't know how possible that would be with the programs that we have out right now, which is where you come in. I need a stepping stone to get this idea underway. Any advice, tutorials, beginners manuals, anything would be incredibly appreciated. Also a big sorry in advance if this thread is in the wrong forum. I would be happy to re-post somewhere else if that's the case
  7. Hey guys this is my first post. I wanna introduce you to some old face, battle Steven. Battle Barry, Team Galactic boss Giovanni, battle legends in B/W like Rayquaza, Giratina, etc. And have new starters, choise 3 starters off ALL starters (bulbasaur, charmander, blastoise, chikorita, cyndaquil, totodile, treecko, torchik, mudkip, turtwig, chimchar, piplup, snivy, tepig, oshawott) and with some old school wild pokemon. I got al the tools but idk how to use them, can someone make me a B/W rom with these kinda things, i would be happy with the rebattles, but the starters just make it happen.
  8. I am making a Pearl/XD PokEmon Game. If you have any ideas of what i should add, please send me a message or reply to this thread. My current list of ideas is: No wild PokEmon Level 10 Eevee as Starter Double Battles Only Eevee uses Items to evolve in any of it's evolutions As soon as I have programs to make them: Shadow PokEmon, Shadow Moves, the possibility to capture Shadow PokEmon, Purification. If you know of any programs I can use to add PokEmon, Moves and Purification and remove that block preventing me from capturing Trainer PokEmon, message or reply please.
  9. FEATURES: *Rated X for eXtremely hard! Because let's face it, Pokemon was made with children in mind so it's made possible for a 6-year old to beat it. These hacks will prove difficult even for adult Pokemon fans. You can beat the real games simply by using your most powerful attacks, but that won't work in Pure White/Pitch Black. You'll have to rely on more advanced strategies like status effects, stat-lowering moves, and switching constantly to keep your team alive. A guide will be given to tell you how to beat the Gym Leaders/Elite 4, but their actual teams won't be revealed because that's for you to find out! *Old Places, New Faces Non-Unova Pokemon will be available to you as soon as you begin your adventure. This gives you more team options to face the upcoming challenges. Of course, you should expect your opponents to use non-Unova Pokemon as well. *Gotta Catch 'Em All! All 649 Pokemon will be available in this game without trading, transferring, or accessing the Dream World. This includes legendary Pokemon as well, although they will be especially tough to find. A list of Pokemon locations will be provided. *The Solution to Evolution Pokemon that used to evolve by trade have new evolution methods so you won't have to trade anymore. A list of new evolution methods will be provided. *Trainer is about to send in..."something"? By default in the real games, you'll always be told what your opponent will send in which gives you a chance to easily counter your opponent's next Pokemon. In these games, the trainer's Pokemon name has been replaced with the word "something" which means you'll never know what your opponent will send in next! *Smugleaf just got Smugger The truth is, starting with a Snivy gives you a disadvantage since this game is especially tough on Grass-types. To make up for this, the Snivy line now evolves much quicker than the other two starters. In addition, it also learns two new moves - Earth Power instead of Wring Out and Dragon Pulse instead of Gastro Acid. If for some reason, you still want Wring Out and Gastro Acid, you can always learn them as a Servine. *Pseudo Tutors The reason a lot of Unova Pokemon don't learn many good moves is because the huge list of tutor moves from 3rd and 4th gens are missing. To slightly make up for this, some Pokemon now learn a "tutor" move by level up. For instance, Unfezant gets Superpower, Lilligant and Vanilluxe get Earth Power, and Klinklang gets Zen Headbutt. *Doctors? More like Murderers! Doctors will always heal your Pokemon to full health...if you can beat them! But they'll always engage in triple or rotation battles and have extremely powerful Pokemon with extremely powerful moves. They may be even tougher than Gym Leaders! Don't expect to win against them the first time. However they are completely optional, just like in the real games. Nurses on the other hand, are very easy to beat and use Audinos, Chanseys, and Blisseys which are great for EXP. *Maybe you'll actually Read this time. Regular trainers in the real games never have anything to say other than a few generic lines. In these games, some trainers here and there will have a bit more interesting dialog. Expect to hear references to pop culture, world events, internet memes, innuendos, and maybe even a few things not appropriate for a Pokemon game! *WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT GETS HARDER?!? Don't expect the challenges to end once you've beaten the main storyline. Besides the rematches against the Elite 4 and your Rivals, there are more difficult battles in store for you. Can you beat the Riches family, who are even tougher than the Elite 4? Or how about clearing Challenger's Cave, where everything is at Level 100 (even the wild Pokemon!). Don't even think about beating Morimoto the first time! *Winners really Win! When the hacks come out, it will come with another challenge for players. Record your victories against the major trainers in the game and you can win actual prizes! I'll give you free shiny Pokemon (legit ones, not ones made by Pokesav), free art requests (because I can draw), and even free online gift cards! I'll post a video up with rules and more details when it is released, so stay tuned! Possible Features: *Music Editing If I finish everything listed above and there's still time left, I'll try to insert a bit of nostalgia by putting in music from Gen 1. Either way, I might hire someone to do it for me. So if you know how to insert and loop music in Black/White, I'll pay you real money for something you already know how to do! *Title Logo Editing Not anything major. Just replacing the real logos with edited logos of the names of these hacks (the images you see at the top of this post). This isn't top priority. Screenshots: Progress: Wild Pokemon Editing: Up to Celestial Tower Major Trainer Editing: Up to Marshal (first battle) Regular Trainer Editing: Up to Route 7 Expected Release Date: Last week of April 2011 Credits: KazoWAR for his Trainer Editor Pedro250 for his Evolution Editor SCV for PPTXT Drayano for telling how to edit Wild Pokemon locations elementking for telling how to edit Pokemon Level-Up moves What I want from you: Think of interesting dialog that you want trainers to say in these games. Make sure it's not related to Pokemon so that it's clearly distinguishable from the unedited dialog. Preferably something funny or something that references another popular game or movie. Keep it clean. There's only ONE trainer in this game that swears and I'd like to keep it that way.

  11. During my playthrough of Generation V of the games, I felt that some pokemon especially potentially powerful species are only available after the E4, including ones that involve Fishing or only at Victory Road. These powerful species being late bloomers will not make it in time for the trainer, assuming that he is not using Pokesav, to train them to a point they are capable of taking on the Elite Four and Team Plasma's elite members. To add salt to the wound, the creators of the game actually only allowed fishing to be accessible after the E4. So the player will have to contend with fewer species to choose from within the game! This is only made worse with the fact that White Forest or certain routes are only available after you defeat the E4; Some of those routes contain many potentially powerful species too. This hack will seek to resolve the issues by changing the encounter locations of certain species as if they were an ecology and also gives the player more choices to pick for their next fighter in the team. This hack will not add Pokemon from previous generations unless they are to be encounter in that place only after the Elite 4. Pokemon Black/white is now also more of a hunter's expedition because some good species have be edited to be rare so the player is going to have to go through a few more wild encounters before you will encounter that "potentially powerful" or rare species for your team. Testers and suggestions are welcome Credits Myself-- Siam on Project Pokemon/ FlameEntei on Pokecommunity. Drayano – the first guy to edit wild encounters in B/W Aragornbird- For teaching me how to edit wild Encounters Kazowar- Evolution editor Andibad- For being supportive of my hack Twistedfate- Creation of the stats editor and Wild editor. Features: 1. More species to catch 2. Starters are catchable Oshawott: Route 1- Surf Tepig- Dreamyard- Grass Snivy- Pinwheel Forest Inner 3. No need to fish to encounter some species 4. For EXP for the player. Release Date May - June 2011
  12. We all remember the Translation work our amazing team did, right? I was wondering if we can take all the english from an English version of the game and load it into the Kanji fileset of a Japanese version (setting up so we can swtich between a Japanese version and an English version on the fly!) I remember this being implimented with the translation patch. I figure it shouldnt be to hard to take the ALREADY translated files from an english game and plug them into a Japanese one where the Kanji tab's script would go. If anyone knows how to do this, or has a patch already, could it be mentioned please? I tend to break games when I open and edit the data Having a setup like this could mean also having a multilang patch for a number of combinations of languages. I think the biggest advantage would be being able to rename pokemon names (and even catching them) in Japanese and switching to the English script for storyline and such.:creep: Biggest disadvantage I see would be the namelength issue. catching pokemon in the english script would give them their perfectly normal english names, however renaming them would impose a character limit. the User's name too. (seeing as my English username is within the limits anyway, this isnt important) (In a simple summary: The japanese version has support for switching between Kana and Kanji scripts. Could we use an English version's files to replace either the Kana or Kanji scripts with english so we can switch between english and japanese anytime like we could in the translation project? (this time however, using the official translation))

  16. Hi peeps! In Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver, a feature that was first introducted in Pokemon Yellow was revived: Pokemon following you. However, immediately after HGSS, It was removed in black and white D: Maybe there is a way to "hack" this function out?

  19. i think it will be cool if we can play as Blue, have growlithe as starter, and start in pallet town, and abble to go to Sinjoh ruins without having Arceus, and you can battle so many sinnoh legendary pokemon there. Don't you think so?
  20. We know that is possible to select from 2 alphabets in the Pokemon B/W games, so why we could not use one for the english traduction and another for the spanish traduction? It would come very useful and easy because you only need 1 game for english and spanish and you could change between these language at any times.
  21. This is an idea. All it would be is just a way to switch out pokemon music with some of mine. Have a button where you select map or battle scene and have a button to browse music on the computer. Then it would be processed into an AR code and music could be changed.
  22. -Storyline- Warning: Really, really, long. -Screens- I'll end up typing out the rest. It's late, and I don't feel like typing more.
  23. Balance Crystal What is it? Balance Crystal is my mod idea with the aim of making a more balanced game, hence the name. This would be accomplished by looking at the official tier list to find out why some Pokémon are weaker than others, and improve the weaker ones to be on par with higher tiers. This would include editing stats, movesets and in very rare cases, types. Other features could be included (like additional story mode content), but the focus is on making a balanced game, which could be used by others with the same mod competitively. Although it may seem like a pretty simple hack to make, it would actually take a lot of time and effort to comb through all Pokémon to balance them out, without going too far in either direction. Any interest in this kind of hack? Would anyone use it to battle others more fairly and diversely? Let me know below. Oh, and just for a little credibility: http://174.133.255.180/showthread.php?t=221036 A hack I have been working on. I am a very good scripter. Unfortunately, I haven't picked it up for HG/SS yet.

  25. Hi Everybody! I have an Idea, Just that I don't really know how to add them to the game, So here goes nothing: Wouldn't it be cool if you are able to battle Cynthia and Steven in HGSS! I thought it would! However, I have no idea how to do so. So anyone want to help me/ guide me/ do the patch? Also, I was thinking that it's "slightly unfair" that Red is in the game, And the Female Counterpart from FRLG is neglected, So maybe we can summon her too? I dunno. I think that including battles (and rebattles) with the pseudo rival (Elm's kid), And other past Elite four missing members, Will be sweet! So let's review: Add battle with Steven, Cynthia, "Green", Pseudo-rival, Lorelei, Agatha, Oak!!! I believe that priority can be given to Pseudo Rival, Steven, Cynthia (and maybe oak) cause their overworld sprites already exist! Now is to find the program to place them in the game, And give them a team. What are the programs available for HGSS editing? Also, which of the files in the game can I use? (Using NitroExplorers, I see a big bunch of folders and numbers that make no sense to me. The only thing I could have done is edit Sprites of pokemon using DspokepicPlat) Comments anyone? Thanks!
