  1. The only problem is they released it right on Christmas where traffic would be naturally high. They did say the problem here is traffic. Anyways, it's easy to wait for it and it is not quite a big deal. If it went down when it was only released in Japan, could you imagine how much more intensive it would get when it gets globally released? Better to delay it than to have massive complaints worldwide about "Z0M6 Y U NO WORK POGEYBANQ????!!!oneoneon11111" But it seems nobody is satisfied anyways and say "MAI XMAS IZ R000IND BCUZ NO BANQ!!". Heh, can't satisfy people in any situation. My only gripe about the Bank system is how easy hacked Pokemon are able to come in and how it puts some Japanese players on a massive advantage on Battle Spot. Other than that, I was kind of hoping for this delay. It gives me more time to breed normal Kalosmons that I was supposed to breed.
  2. Hm, I do have a few English language carts sent by an overseas friend: I hope it works. Unfortunately, the service seems down at the moment, so I have no chance of using this right now. EDIT: Oh good grief, I cannot get Celebi like this. That is fine: I can get it when the postponement is put to an end.
  3. Wait what? I probably should have gotten it yesterday when I had the chance to (I am South Korean). I was going to hold it off until 1 Jan because free trial only lasts until 31 Jan. I'm checking this out right now. EDIT: It is lagging like crazy, but I am able to download it apparently (this is Korean eShop). It is not too useful for me as I do not have a Korean version of Pokemon BW/B2W2 yet (I'm planning on getting one soon to take advantage of this). I think this is a "countermeasure" to the complaints that Pokebank did not stop hacked Pokemon from coming in. Not to mention Battle Spot is ridiculous right now (I don't want to fight another team of Terrakion / kamis / Latitwins with perfect stats everywhere, Megamoms with Wish + Seismic Toss, etc...). Maybe they are updating something before things get out of hand. I'm unsure. Connecting is a total pain. Constantly getting Error Code 005-4222... EDIT2: According to Serebii: Hmmm... oh my. This puts those Japanese legendary spammers at a huge advantage. I'll be willing to trade my salvaged starters at the moment, and they are great bargaining chips for other Pokemon unavailable at the moment, so I can at least try to breed those and help complete other people's dexes if required.
  4. Today's Wonder Trade (Christmas) was actually quite disappointing. I have received more Route 2 Fletchings, Bunnelbys, Weedles, Sentrets and others (all in some ball that is not even Poke Ball, think about what that implies) while sending out some beautiful Dratinis and starters. I have also received a bunch of Froakies in abundance, which may be nice I guess. Meanwhile, I did receive something interesting after a while: Yes folks, Pokebank is out in Japan (and in South Korea), but I did not download my copy yet, because I do not have a physical Korean cartridge of Gen V Pokemon games (I opted out of that series). The one time I send out a Honedge (It was 5 IV but people dislike Honedges), I get something good. I have a feeling Wonder Trade pairs good trades with bad trades on purpose
  5. Please use the Trade Thread.
  6. I have added everyone from Max Joseph and Gardevoir. I am Wraith and my friend code is: 4613-7526-1652
  7. Yes that sounds good. I will try and find them in my box once more. I'm sorry for the delay, as my bed time is almost soon. I will try to start the trade in a little while. Merci beaucoup!
  8. Ah I see. I also have Vulpix (Goupix) with Drought too, Ralts, and other things someplace. I wish I had marked them earlier, as I did not use it. I found my 5 IV Scyther, but all that seems left are 4 IV Pinsir and Heracross. Could I interest you in any of these for your Magikarp, Sneasel and maybe Gible? I will see if I can find more, or if you wish me to breed until I get a better 5 IV type of Pokemon.
  9. I believe I have some Dratinis, Kangaskhans and Eevee (if that is what you want), but I am unsure if they are 5 IV or whatnot. I believe most are, but I need to re-check them via IV person. I have Korean Pokemon since I am Korean. I hope I did not trade all my 5 IV Pinsirs or Scythers or Heracrosses... that would not be good. I also have some remaining Fletchlings with Gale Wings. I am unsure what you want, however. My friend code is 4613-7526-1652
  10. Please use Trade Thread and leave your Friend Code. Also say what Pokemon you want. I may have a few too.
  11. [icon]399[/icon]The Wonder Trade There is a new feature within the Pokemon XY's PSS, and it is called Miracle Trade (or Wonder Trade, I believe, in English, so for your sakes, I will call it Wonder Trade). For those of you who do not know what Wonder Trade is, it is a fun little feature that lets you trade your own Pokemon to a random person for their random Pokemon, so you never know what you would get. It is a bit of a gamble, and so it is full of joy and grief, depending on what Pokemon you get. This feature has been derogatorily been named Bidoof Trade because people thought that was all that would be traded. Generally what people trade are Pokemon they do not want or have multiple copies of. Share your personal experiences with it and anything else involving the Wonder Trade. You may rant about your bad experiences, some good times you've had with shiny Pokemon from Wonder Trade, the best and absolute worst Pokemon you have received, how to improve the Wonder Trade experience, the colour of your shirt as you were Wonder Trading, etc... 12. Please post on the Friend Code Exchange Thread. Also don't just write "Does anyone have one?" but do provide your Friend Code beforehand. With that being said, I know at least one of the people here has a Bergmite Safari, but I am unsure who it was.
  13. I believe you have the wrong person. Message the person named frgnvola, who posted right above your original post. If you private message that person, (s)he will probably provide you his/her friend code.
  14. Hey... check it out. You two may have found somebody that shares your same interest. Why don't you two get together and all? I have an unhealthy excessive amount of Brave Honedges, each with at least 4 IVs or so. There are also some Scythers and Pinsirs lying around, Adamant and Jolly nature, respectively (let me know if you want the Scyther to evolve). I would also like to clean out some of my Timid Ralts and some Modest Squirtles (I am not sure if I have that many left actually). If you would like one, please let me know. I will take anything, including your Bidoofs. However, I'm more in search of Y exclusives at this point. Great IV Pokemon is preferred, but not necessary. Again, I will take anything. My friend code is 4613-7526-1652
  15. Pokemon do not exist simply for their battling worth. To some people, it is about battling and all, if that is your mindset. However, some are also there for conceptual reasons and just so one can collect them all. I don't mind having things like Lumineon exist simply because they are aesthetically pleasing, even if it doesn't offer much over other Water Pokemon. Tiers and that kind of stuff is a fanmade concept: it is not exactly what Gamefreak had in mind in creating the game. That being said, I seriously don't know what they were thinking when they said they "balanced" this generation. Not really enough balance, to be honest, but more of a limelight for the new Fairy Pokemon and to nerf Special moves, randomly nerf Meteor Mash while keeping a high benefit, low cost move like Close Combat the same. I think they were intending to balance their "doubles" metagame more, which is the standard format, but unfortunately, the game is not filled with doubles so it makes it harder to design a team for doubles rather than singles, which most people do play. They did do the unthinkable this generation: change base stats of Pokemon! However, I have to say, it was very halfhearted, as it was merely + 10 base stat (with the exception of Pikachu, who gained + 10 on both defences, but whatever), usually to a stat point they did not need (Azumarill getting + 10 SpA comes into mind). I also don't think anybody would have agreed that Alakazam deserved the same boost as any other Pokemon receiving them, as most seem to be Level 10 bugs and Pidgeot and the likes. A lot of old Pokemon, unfortunately, are victims of power creep. The three legendary birds that are featured in this game come into mind, as they were consciously placed in this game, but unfortunately, there were little improvements to them. Two of them are huge victims to the power creep and really needed some adjustments to their movepool and base stats for them to be even competing with NORMAL mundane Pokemon like Staraptor or the scary Talonflame. A Mega evolution for each would also come into mind as well, but it did not happen. Those are some stuff that do come into my mind. You also cannot talk about Gen I like that because that was basically the "Gotta Catch 'Em All" days: I don't believe little children (which the primary demographics was) cared so much about "what kind of team should I use?" as opposed to "Cool Ember/Flamethrower/Fire Spin/Fire Blast Charizard!" and to trade and battle with friends for fun. It's a trainwreck competitively, and they've really started paying attention more in Gen IV when the game started becoming more global and less of a kid's adventure field. Gen IV put the focus on competitive, hence the terribly disappointing gameplay but the targetting of teenagers to battle with their friends online while little children can still enjoy the "story mode". I cannot stress it enough: the motivation is mostly monetary rather than any of the fanbase kind of things. Do they listen? Yeah sometimes... hence they created "Fairies" to balance out the overpowered Dragons (even Gamefreak knew this)... but I still have no idea what they have against Ice types that they fail in balancing it at all. I don't believe base stats total determines anything: Dusclops has lower total BST than Pidgeot and it's more usable than Pidgeot. It's a matter of distribution. Ferrothorn is crazy and yet its base stats don't even add up to 500. Vanilluxe is unusable and its base stat is on par with Lapras's. It does not have to do with base stats only: there's many factors we have to consider before saying "lol tier this tier that". And Gamefreak does not make tiers: that's generally fandom, and they only tend to ban event legendaries, major legendaries (not minor legendaries like trios and such), and Chatot (well not anymore). Last gen we saw a huge power creep with Pokemon like Conkeldurr and Haxorus coming into play, with absurd stats that just makes you wonder if these people had the mind of a 9 year old overpowering their favourite mons, except it's official. This generation is supposed to see balance, but the said balance... isn't exactly there. I'm going to tell you also that most of the lower weaker Pokemon are actually USABLE in their own rights. Most of them anyways (sorry Kricketune, you are not salvagable unfortunately). But generally, they don't always look at competitive viability but more about marketing (this is why Charizard gets two Megas while many Pokemon received none). But seeing how this is the introductory series of a generation, I think we can expect a lot of better things for their next installment: it usually is a lot better (i.e. B2W2 fixed a lot of things that were lacking in BW... I really didn't like BW asides from story). That being said, I understand your frustration, but that's not exactly going to stop them from making "weakmons", and their motive isn't exactly competitiveness. It's definitely not with "balance" in mind either. I think it's more of a shift of focus from adventure field to a mass multiplayer kind of game with a story (though the story part is clearly getting weaker and weaker).
  16. Thanks dragonmaster and everybody above me. I have added you. Good grief another Wraith... this cannot be happening to me. I'm only kidding btw, welcome. Anyways, we can only tell your third Pokemon if you are online at the same time as somebody else you have exchanged your friend code with and have beaten the League. Wraith 4613-7526-1652 Type: Steel Ferroseed, Metang, Klefki It looks like I have pages of Friend Codes to update. I will be back in a couple of hours.
  17. <p><p><p><p><p><p>Thanks! Somebody other than Mewtwo remembered. The game even did the same thing on the Pokemon Center... it was cool. Too bad it only lasted for one day <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /></p></p></p></p></p></p>

  18. <p><p><p><p><p><p>Congrats. I don't really do that kind of stuff anymore. How's Mega Amphy treating you?</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  19.

<p><p><p><p><p><p>Oh, that's typical: around that range people by average get their shiny. Some are as lucky as getting it at #5 and all...</p></p></p></p></p></p>

<p><p><p><p><p><p>You're using a foreign Pokemon with Charmander to get a shiny? Have fun: that will take ages for some people, while some people get it to work. Miracle Trade isn't as satisfying when everybody is giving you Fletchlings and Eevees from America, while Japanese people give me some good Pokemon, but they're generally same and reflects current trend (I got tons of Japanese Honedges recently). Other times they're just as trolling and send a Male Combee named AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (in Japanese Katakana) or send some dumb US Pokemon right back... while I'm giving some generally good stuff <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/mellow.png" alt=":|" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/mellow@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /></p></p></p></p></p></p>

  20. <p><p><p><p><p><p>Wait... you found two mons in 204. Okay, not one. When was your first? Because my first are generally something after 170 +... if I even manage to get that far. Some people just have all the luck.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  21.

<p><p><p><p><p><p>It doesn't really need the speed though. You can use Sticky Web support or Rock Polish for that, but regular Aggron with Rock Head is probably better for that. Use Head Smash when non-Mega, and you can Mega evolve afterwards once all potential targets for it are gone. If that's not appealing, do as you want. It tanks and hits back quite heavily, though not as much as LO regular, but whatever. That's not what it is there for: the crippling Fighting/Ground weaknesses are quite minimised thanks to Filter + pure Steel typing. Also:</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Filter Mega Aggron: 126-148 (36.62 - 43.02%) -- guaranteed 3HKO</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  22. <p><p><p><p><p><p>First off... why in the world does it have Filter and not Solid Rock? Sure it loses its Rock typing, but still... very odd. Secondly, it's quite the nice defensive tank: it's not getting OHKOd by much anytime soon with Filter and pure Steel typing. Neutral hits still take quite the toll against it, and its physical Def is quite large, but Special is still somewhat lacking, meaning it will be hard pressed to fight against its newfound weakness to Fire. However, playing mindgames is fun: you can Rock Head + Head Smash everything that would be threatening (like Fire types), and once that's done, Mega Evolve and tank the rest of the foe's team. Its movepool is quite large and its support move is also diverse: you'd find a lot of use for Mega Aggron I am sure. I don't think Dragon Tail is as useful anymore, however. Roar + Stealth Rock would be nice, however, along with two coverage moves. Heavy Slam/Iron Head is STAB, coverage moves such as Stone Miss/Earthquake.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  23.

<p><p><p><p><p><p>Huh wow. Chain of 204? That's a lot worse than mine, but at least you pulled it off.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

<p><p><p><p><p><p>Congrats. I don't really do this chain fishing much actually as my intentions aren't getting shinies. The chance of getting shinies in this game is actually double of what it was in the previous game, or so I hear. It's still quite the small chance, but it happens more frequently.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  24. <p><p><p><p><p><p>Happy birthday</p></p></p></p></p></p>

  25. <p><p><p><p><p><p>That guy would get plenty of shinies I see.</p></p></p></p></p></p>
