the only wany i think you could do it(im no geius whith the games but i know pokemon games so i know some things)is to maybe get the type from hg/ss and replcae the jap english whith it.it just makes it look a bit better when playing the game,as the normal english text on the jap games is much bigger than ours.

Just use PokeSAV to rename your pokemon.

It's in katakana so it's supposed to represent english words, but I can't figure out what words they're supposed to represent. Any ideas?

Do you know where the battle text is for the first 2 battles of the game with cheren and bel?

It's most likely in 184 from the regular translation files. It's not included with the story files, and it's nearly 1000 lines long.
