Are you guys going to offer a patch which retains the Pokemon's japanese name? I think this was done in the past with HGSS and BW1.

Long time no see Storm. :cool: And we have one that keeps the original Japanese names, but v2 will have another version with Romanized names.

We've made a lot of general progress in the main files. Items, Abilities,Natures, Battle Systems, Menus, etc. Trainer names are WIP. Trainer dialogue will be started soon as well.

Bond697 edit: Any requests for ROMs will be deleted and the user will be banned on subsequent requests. Anyone who links to a ROM will be banned. No exceptions.

Welcome to the Black 2 and White 2 translation project thread! I was here briefly in the past for the Black and White project, but I'm back now to see if we can do the same thing for Black 2 and White 2.

I've made Github repositories for the main files, and for the story files separately. The 0000 folders will be the ones to translate into English, and the 0001 folders will remain Japanese. The files almost mirror each other, except for the fact the files in 0001 are Kanji. They should be used as a reference for translating the files in 0000.

How to contribute to the project

The procedure is the following. If you want to contribute, sign up for the Github, fork the project on github, translate the text in a file, then commit your changes, all commits will be revised and the ones deemed adequate will be pulled into the master branch of the project and used in the patch. The cards that are "working but needs modifying" currently have a bug where you cannot enable the c gear without crashing the game. Make sure you save after the first gym straight away as a precaution in case you forget to select "No" when it asks to enable C Gear.

Keep in mind this may not be 100% the same for everyone, I am basing this on my results and that of people in the IRC.

Use these steps if necessary

Step 1: Have a clean ROM of whichever game you're patching. Don't ask for one.

Step 2: Open DeltaPatcherLite and select the patch file.

Step 3: Select the clean ROM as the source file.

Step 4: Apply.

Then you're good to go! Let me know of any bugs, and stuff that you would like prioritized for the next patch release. Expect new patches at the most every three days.

Just wondering, am I able to play on V5, then on a new rom patch V6 when it comes out, but still continue with my V5 save file on the new patch?

The saves will still work no matter what version you're using. I've been using the same saves since the first beta of this translation.:cool:

Is there a thread or a place specifically for grammatical error reports, ie, mis-spellings or missed line breaks because, as Im sitting down to play this seriosuly, Im noticing quite a few (which is understandable and COMPLETELY acceptable, aside from the fact that it doesn't make the game any less playable) and i would LOVE to help out.

Could a moderator start a thread for that specific purpose?

hey guys my track meet was awesome i got 54th outta 100 any way when i try to patch using any of the patches all i get is something called Pokumon_patched.Nds and it has no data on it litterally it says it has 0kb(kilobytes) and when i try to play it well it wont workcan some one help me?

Cross Country sucks, Indoor & Outdoor Track FTW lol. But while you're patching you have to wait for the patched file to get up to 256 MB before you try playing it.

Hey guys, awesome work! Especially thanks to vgboy and the guy who uploaded the unofficial V5. What I'd like to ask though is whether it is normal or not that the rom I get after patching it with Rudolphs and the English-patch, is freezing randomly every few minutes. Almost everything is in english, which is awesome, but it sucks to see the game randomly freezing on Desmume. Haven't tried it on Flashcart, though, could be worth a try.

Try it on a flashcart, and if it happens again you might just have to wait till Sunday for the official V5 patch.

If anyone has any concerns about anything, I would advise that you view the first 3 posts, or just ask about it on the IRC channel before posting here, because the questions are getting repetitive here. There's a link to it on the first page, in Kaarosu's post.

Merging vgboy/vgperson's updates. A lot more of Hiun City will be done for V5, along with more trainers. Give him a lot of credit for joining the project.

Also found out, when doing the stuff to get the transfer machine to unlock, i found two words when looking it up, it froze the game on e:

Heart of Justice - shows ??????? on preview, when going into the list with it, it freezes

DS to DS Connection - same thing

i changed DS to DS connection - Ds connection, that stopped the freezing for that, but can't figure out a cut for heart of justice

Which file were those in?
