  1. Alright, spoke to her to clarify what she did. She went: DeSmuME on her Soul Silver to shift from the Gen 3 (Emerald in particular) rom -> Move the SS emulator save using NDS Adapater+ to her cartridge Soul Silver -> Gen 5. She said the invalid trash bytes appeared in Gen 4, so she'd check it via pokecheck. If fine, send forward again. If not, do another batch until there were no invalid trash bytes. Based on old chat logs, it was in July '12. I don't think she kept the .pkm that got flagged, as it was so long ago. I'll need to do that 24 wait cool down to send things to JP Diamond. I never completed JP SS so I can't assist with that. Still not sure if I'll be able to shift with how finicky the bootleg FR is, but I could open the cartridge up and see if maybe something is loose if it doesn't work. Here's some random shifts I saw when digging through my own saves though. Veral, Squir, and Char were from my fake fire red that I shifted back in the day to JP Diamond. They're in Gen 5 only it seems. Tifa was from Sapphire. Regly was from Sapphire. Both of the were shifted to Eng Pearl, IIRC. (Since I wasn't risking my favorite when the fake FR couldn't hold a save long) Jule was from my hack containment game in Gen 3. No idea if she got caught up in the cross fire of me screwing around. For things in Gen 4: The houndour and houndoom were probably from the GTS, but I had them sitting on my JP Diamond. Lionne is just random pokemon from my Emerald. 2. @ajxpk Not sure if it helps, but I know Pokecheck was one of the legality checkers that flagged this. While I personally haven't transferred through the emulator, I know my friend use to do it in Gen 5. The invalid trash bytes were something that showed up on Pokecheck. I don't think she saved any of the invalid checks though, since she would just clone the pokemon and send them up in bulk until she wouldn't get the invalid trash bytes flag. When inquiring with her earlier about it, she said it didn't happen all the time. Just stuff that occasionally occurred. I'm still worried about it though, which is why I'm considering getting something that can rip and restore .savs on the cartridges if there was something wrong with them. I may be able to contribute to the Japanese games. I have a (very bad fake...don't buy from ebay without boxes, kids) JP Fire Red. The battery doesn't hold a save for more than a few minutes (or that's how it was when I did it back when JP Diamond *originally* got released 11 years ago). I might have some of the things I originally shifted sitting around somewhere. Just not sure if it's still on Gen 4 or if I moved it to Gen 5 before I started backing up my DS games. I'll poke around my saves later.
  3. @Kaphotics Found some more miscellaneous issues. These are on Gen 4 from my Japanese Soul Silver. 1) It doesn't like eggs that originated from my ENG pearl that were hatched in my JP Soul Silver. (I recall Pokecheck having an issue with this originally too) 2) The Pikachu with Fake out from the Yellow Forest pokewalker course is flagged invalid. All the other pokewalker Pikachu I had sitting around were fine. 3) Invalid species names for both Nidoran genders. 4. @Kaphotics Duhhhh, Monmon is from White 1. Well,it's definitely affecting both JP B1 and JP W1 with the language flag missing. I nabbed the basculin in the JP White 1 as well, and same problem (second .pkm, first is Monmon). I don't have JP W2, but it's probably safe to assume it's fine like JP B2. My JP Diamond and JP SS have no issues with the trades, from what I attached before. 546 - モンモン - 43166400007E.pk5 550-01 - アオメ - EAEA9400007F.pk5
  5. According to Corocoro, it comes as a bonus for pre-ordering USUM. Not sure if it's specific stores or anything though. Now the question is if that extends to pre loading to the eshop or not, since I know they can give serial codes that way. (As was the case with Mew you could claim in Gen 6 when purchasing any of the JP VC Gen 1 games)
  6. Hrm, this is is strange. I had the same language problem missing on my JP Black, but for a different pokemon (Basculin). My JP Black is a cartridge, if it matters. I'm not sure if I completed any of the other trades. I'll go ahead and check both my JP Black and JP Black 2 (also a cartridge), and report back. Edit: This problem is exclusive to B1. (And possibly W1, gotta check that still.) Every single pokemon I traded for in JP B1 is missing the language tag. Everything in JP B2 is fine though. 094 - JP Diamond ingame trade for Gengar
  7. Two different events, actually! The serial code for being able to get it in Gen 1 was the physical 2DS purchase. When you bought the game digitally, you would get a code to claim a mew in Gen 6. I remember it taking me a few minutes to figure out where the serial code was with the digital purchase. I really hope they give everyone a way to get a Celebi in the Gen 2 version. (North America had no way to get a Gen 1 Mew IIRC) I didn't want to import another Japanese 3ds (Well...2DS) just for a Gen 1 Mew.
  8. I really wish Porybox had a legality analysis. I mostly used Pokecheck for the legality analysis, and the screenshot function of that. ((Though the Gen 4 -> Gen 5 transfer was super nice before I had a save manager, as it let me keep pokemon on both generations)) PKHex is really nice because it can check legality super fast, but I really do miss the ease of sharing the analysis.
  9. For the new update: - Cleffa still being flagged illegal in a safari ball - Apricorn Barboach is still being flagged as illegal. You can catch Whiscash in HGSS in violet city. - Some headbutt/rocksmash encounters from Gen 4 flagging as illegal (adding to help research) - Still having an issue with the Feraligatr, compared to the Japanese one. (can resend both .pkm, as well as the others from the promotion if needed) - Slowking being flagged with an illegal move, Rock Smash. Rock Smash is a TM/HM in Gen 6, so I'm not sure if this is a fault of Pkhex or if this GTS pokemon has an actual problem. - Looking at my Gen 5 games, have a weird thing where nickname doesn't match the species for a charmander .(I know there was something *weird* with ripping them from an emulator (or was it a sav?) in Pokegen days in Gen 5, so I'm not sure if that's related or not) - Getting it for a Pichu as well -...and a croagunk - Flagging a traded Basculin from a NPC in BW1 as invalid - Doesn't seem to like hidden hollow pokemon (or at least my Amoonguss) - Doesn't like a link trade egg in Gen 5 (I think that's what the error is?) - Doesn't seem to like an Exeggcute that came from a swarm from W1 - Having a shiny mew that was RNG abused on JP Emerald be flagged as illegal, but when I inspect it, it shows as legal. Not experiencing this problem when looking at the backup on the Gen 4 game. (can send .pkm upon request) (The rufflet is correctly flagged as illegal) Missing illegal: - Catches the premier ribbon from pokecheck, but not flagging an illegal hidden ability (as it was hatched) on this other Charmander. Charmander can only have the HA in Gen 5 if it came from the Dream World as ditto could not pass on HA from males. Things I'm not positive on: - Not sure if my Hadou Mew I got off the GTS in Gen 4 is legal or not (probably safe to assume it's not cause ~gts~) but it's showing up as being unable to be matched to a mystery gift. - Getting a PID mismatch on a togepi from LG. Since clearly my memory of me editing things in Gen 3 cannot be trusted with the umbreon situation (and unlike umbreon it has pretty good IVs for Gen 3. I know I was shocked when I saw the IVs on pokecheck years ago), I'll attach it here. (Would be nice to know if it's legal or not, because if not I'm going to release it.) 004 - Charmander - D91E2722A9A4.pk5 098 - Krabby - EB03A3825C78.pk6 102 - Exeggcute - 8E2E49E4CEF4.pk5 133 - Egg - 6CC001D6BE10.pk5 172 - ピチュー - F898D3B8D4EB.pk5 173 - Cleffa - 48A1F26BD115.pk6 175 - Toge - D47287C106BA.pk5 199 - Slowking but move looks legal - 42A44E1C0D67.pk7 339 - ドジョッチ - 5723395FCFA0.pk6 396 - Starly - BAC9DF4FE043.pk6 396 - Starly - E273A75C850C.pk6 453 - Croagunk - 3E24E1A5B392.pk5 550 - アカメ - 1F5E9400007F.pk5 591 - モロバレル - A7BACDE27432.pk5 Illegal HA.pk5
  10. Really regret not taking a chance on the guy from Pokemonexchange, even though they had no references. Oh well, what can you do. Do you need someone to Ram dump the Exeggutor at worlds, or is that already planned to be covered?
  11. Really? Huh... That's strange. It's been 13 years or so, so I guess I forgot? I don't remember editing anything past Ruby version (aside from changing a nickname on a Raichu of mine) 14 year old me usually made things shiny or outrageous move sets, like a Magikarp with fire blast which I kept on that containment game. I'm very curious at whatever my intention was on the umbreon, or if it was just a side effect of me messing around. Ahh well, knowledge lost to the ages I guess. Sorry about that then.
  12. I apologize if this is the incorrect board. I did not see a general sticky to report issues, and it seems most of the legality threads were redirected to this board. I was referencing my save in PKHex while I was going through Pokemon Bank (saves me so much effort from having to go to the move re-learner to see what egg moves things have), and I noticed a few things registered as illegal, that are in fact, legal. I can send the .pk6 files to PM to the developers upon request. Just tell me which one(s) you need. 1) Baby Pokemon and Pokeball Issues: May be more, but these are the ones I saw. - Apricorn Balls with Chimecho: While it is impossible to catch chimecho in an apricorn ball in HGSS, the baby form, chingling, can be found with Sinnoh sound. The chimecho being flagged was born on Gen 6. - Apricorn & Safari Balls with Cleffa: Opposite issue of the above. Cleffa is not able to be caught in HGSS, but Clefairy is found in both the safari zone and Mount Silver. The cleffa in question originated on Gen 6. The clefairy parent is fine. 2) Shedinja and relearnable moves: A shedinja (originated on XY, hatched on ORAS) has all four egg moves being incorrectly flagged. "Invaild Relearn Move X: Not an expected Relearnable move." This shedinja came into existence upon a Ninjask evolution. The Ninjask is fine. 3) Bank HA Feraligatr: Now this is a weird one. The feraligatr that originated on my USA 3DS is being flagged because of Ice Punch. The feraligatr that originated from my JP 3ds is not. 4) N's Pokemon (JP): N's pokemon that originated on my JP B2 cartridge are being flagged "Invalid: The Name/TID/SID of N is incorrect.". Every single one I have is flagged (I misplaced his Kling and Boldore), I'll attach his Zorua. 5) This wondercard: I injected the wondercard from Project Pokemon back in '12. It was RNG abused on an JP emu save so it'd hatch shiny when I traded it to my Japanese B2 cartridge. I suspect all the event moves would be flagged, but I only have acrobatics left on mine: "Invalid Move x: Invalid move. (Acrobatics) Invalid: Fateful Encounter should not be checked." 7) Colosseum Umbreon: This one originates from my save, so I can verify it's legitimate and has not be edited. "Invalid: Encounter type PID mismatch. Invalid: Special ingame Fateful Encounter Flag is missing." I'll attach this one, since nobody is going to want a cruddy umbreon with terrible IVs. Don't trust your memory, folks. That's all I have for now. I still have over 1,000 pokemon I still have to check, so I'll report back if I notice anything else. 570 - ゾロア - 19A8FF00001F.pk6 197 - Moonlight - 105D3B8BBD8D.pk6
  13. This is a really stupid question, and I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I'm using Kaisonic's version, as I really loved the various options that ViolentSpatula's added. So, having support for ORAS is wonderful. However, after importing my old custom strings, I noticed that the IVs are getting that annoying asterisks around them when they are perfect. ((I think that's a feature for reddit? I don't use reddit.)) Is there any way to disable them, or will I need to manually remove them each time I dump? Unrelated, but is there also any chance that these will support the newest Virtual Console releases of the old games? I'd love to see the DVs of my current pokemon, as well as if they'd be shiny using the old algorithm.
  14. Alright, this is probably a bit off topic, but I'm not exactly sure where else I can put this. Also as a heads up, I'm using a third party hardware to rip my save, and pokegen to rip the .pkm from my save to upload to pokecheck. PokeBank is actually blocking some pokemon that are pokeshifted via pokecheck, but they can go through like normal if pokeshifted on the actual hand hold. I'm not sure if it's how pokecheck is shifting them or what not, but I figured it'd be worth mentioning. For example, my ID RNG abused nicknamed Raikou, Rak'shiri. 4th Generation: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=7851072 5th Generation .pkm that was shifted via pokecheck: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=7851073 5th Generation .pkm that was shifted using my DS: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=7851445 I knew something was up when my friend who RNG abused that ID to nickname our Raikous was able to go forward, as well as her RNG abused ID Keldeo with a nickname. As a test, I shifted both a crown Entei and crown Suicune both on pokecheck and on my handheld. They were able to go forward with no problem, but they are from the Gamestop ID (and not nicknamed). I tried to upload the Suicune and Entei .pkm that were shifted on my DS, but they wouldn't appear in my box. ((I assume because they are identical in every way. Raikou does upload though, even though it appears identical so I'm baffled on that one.)) I did some other additional tests at the suggestion of Dewey911, and this also did not go forward: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=7048977 This is also a WIN2011 pokemon. I did not have any problems with other pokemon from my Soul Silver. Just this Raikou and that Celebi I tested for science. Edit: Actually, I realized last night that I didn't actually transfer the Celebi (I thought it was a Gen 5 .pkm). Celebi does go through when pokeshifted on pokecheck, the Raikou still won't that was pokeshifted. Mmm... Not sure what else I can really test.
  15. I seem to be getting really weird and incorrect text from chaining on my English Pearl. (Though my friend is having the same issues with Platinum, which is why I checked all these to see if it was just her) First up: Ralts I chained on the cartridge last year. If I recall correctly, I did not use any synchronizer as I was collecting them for that purpose. https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495482 (mentions required adamant synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495485 (Possible method J/K slots don't match encounter.) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495486 (Required hardy synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495491 (Required Quirky synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495496 (Required Bashful synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495499 (Same chain, nothing shows up yellow) Yesterday, I was chaining ditto on the ROM. They too had the synchronizer message, even though I was not using one. https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495519 (No yellow text) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495513 (Required modest synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495506 (Required Impish synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495385 (Required Brave synchronizer) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=6495381 (Required Adamant synchronizer) Strangely, the shiny ditto I caught from the chain also came out fine: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=6495395
  16. This is a minor issue, but I feel I should report it anyway: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=6400438 ► Nickname: This event has a nickname (ID abuse or hacked). The Kanto Starter Egg events give the pokemon as eggs, so the OT can just nickname them. Not sure if it's being flagged because it was RNG'd on another game to be shiny in my JP B2, then traded to my B2 to hatch or just nobody mentioned it before. Figured it wouldn't hurt to report it anyway.
  17. That's funny; I was just about to report that. I never would've noticed this if I didn't have those pokemon accidentally not private. I just clicked them randomly trying to figure out why I had a Marstomp thinking that was my B2, but my SS had the same name. I only uploaded these guys to see who had random 31's, and never thought to check the legality analysis. More technical information: When starting my JP SS long before the English release, I sent myself some eggs from my English Pearl. When going through my other pokemon from my English Pearl, I noticed it does the same thing with pokemon traded from my JP Diamiond to the English Pearl before they hatched. Going to list all the trainer information just in case it helps, but I am beginning to believe the origin trainer of the egg sets the location of the OTs game, even if it is different. Pokemon from English Pearl with her OT: https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1604921 (Not sure why this one is missing some trashbytes, it was hatched on my retail copy) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1604919 https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1604932 (Also missing hatch trashbytes?) https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1604917 (Same as above.) http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1537738 Eggs that originated on my JP Diamond that hatched on English Pearl: Not a false positive, but displays wrong game for the OT, matching the origin game. https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1713666 Pokemon from JP Diamond: https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1708824 https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1713672 Pokemon from JP SS: https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949348 https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949332 https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949322 Pokemon that originated in my ENG Pearl, but hatched on JP SS: False Positives http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949223 http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949224 https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949298 https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949294 Other False positives: My surfing Raichu who was caught as a pikachu on the pokewalker on JP SS: http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949225 Flail Pikachu from same pokewalker course: https://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1949273
  18. I have two potential issues: First issue: (False Positive) http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1596469 Mostly everything is correct(it's a mystery egg run, with eggs from an English game). However, the PID is showing up invalid. The thing with it is, I'm about 90% sure when I uploaded her the first few times, the PID was listed valid. I only noticed this change earlier this week. I've uploaded her from both my English White and Japanese Black 2 as I checked EVs. Second Issue: (Possible False Negative) http://www.pokecheck.org/?p=detail&uid=1537554 When I got this houndoom off the GTS several years ago, I was 99% sure it was hacked. It was found in Kanto,(Houndour was only found in the wild in Emerald), masterball, and under the evolution level.(Houndour evolves at 24). The only thing the pokecheck mentions is "Non-default pokéball on hatched Pokémon." If it was hatched, it should definitely not be a houndoom. Since I transferred it to Gen V instead of checking it on Gen IV, I'm not sure if that's why it's coming up as negative in the other stats?
