Ah. Now that, I did not know. Thanks. The new problem I'm having is how legal shiny Pokemon are made for the species that cannot come from an egg. In this case, Latias. See, when I find a Timid Latias on the list, it reverts it back to non-shiny status and I cannot just use "Generate" since it wasn't hatched. It has 37 in it's 46h hidden value since I've made her migrated to Platinum from Emerald. So...how would I go about making her legally shiny? Not that I want to for her case. I just am wondering how this is done for Pokemon that cannot legally be the result of a breed (Latias, Latios, Kyogre, Groudon, etc).
  2. Just a minor correction here. You meant to say "Pal Park in hexadecimal." I was confused upon reading this and then seeing Pal Park listed in decimal as 55.

But the thing is that I don't know what it is about the PID that tells me it's a shiny Pokemon. I know that I can easily generate one via the "Generate" button, but isn't the problem here that doing such a thing makes the Pokemon non-legit? Basically, I just don't really know what I'm looking for on the list made the "PID/IV" button.

I don't understand how I'd know if said PID was a "shiny" PID on the list that gets generated nor what to do once I find it with the other class (Thick Fat). How would I then change it to the class I want without losing Shiny status?

How does shininess affect the PID generation? Right now, I'm trying to make an Adamant Miltank with Scrappy that is shiny. However, when I do find the right PID on the list via the "PID/IV" button on Pokesav, it sets Miltank back to regular coloration (the "Shiny" box becomes unchecked since the PID obviously changed). Is there a way around this...?
  6. Fascinating development, guys. I followed the instructions for using Japanese in Pokesav and I got up to the part where I installed the languages and restarted. When I ran Pokesav after this, it was normal sized! I just felt I'd share this information in case other users run into this problem and somehow former cases need to get cited for a sticky.
  7. My resolution is set to 1152*864. This is a ~16" CRT desktop. For some weird reason, the max resolution on the slider is 2048*1536 which is way out of range. Here's how the resolutions scale: 1152*864 [current] 1280*768 1280*960 1280*1024 (anything above is is out of range) Even under 1280*768, the window is still too big. It fits on the latter two, but then the problem is that reading stuff (like this topic) becomes incredibly hard since it's so small. :\
  8. It's needed for people whose computers decide to make the windows for the original Pokesav gigantic for unknown reasons. I'm experiencing this problem now and you can see the images in my topic about said issue.
  9. Ah, cool. That definitely helps. Thanks. I still do wonder if there is a way to make the font smaller on the original one, because it really is baffling to me that it appears the way it does on my desktop. Here are some new pics for comparison: http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav_compact.png http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav_compact_2.png Let's see if someone else knows. Also, someone says that loading Pokemon into your party with the compact version crashes the game. Is this still the case?

Hm. That "PID/IV" button is something I neglected to use mostly because I felt just pressing the "Generate" button above it and then hitting Generate again in the box that appeared was enough. I'm really not sure if it is, though overall, this would only seem to really matter when trying to get battle videos up on the GTS as far as I know. I'm confused about what class to pick if the Pokemon has one ability. Does it just not matter which of the two get picked in that case?
  11. It's the English Pokesav for Platinum. I said it in the topic title sort of discreetly, I guess.
  12. Normally, I'd be using Pokesav on my laptop which has Vista and everything looks as it should. A few days ago, I owned my laptop by spilling tea over it, so I have to use this desktop which has XP. When I run Pokesav on this however, it's huge. Here are some pics: http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav.png http://psycho_k.webs.com/temporary/pokesav_2.png Now, I have used this same version of Pokesav on another desktop with XP at a friend's house and it was normally sized. Is there some particular setting I have set that is causing it to be so huge and weird looking? The font being large and bold seems to be the main issue here, but I do not know how one would adjust that. Any help would be appreciated.
