    PID/IV Generator

Awesomes, finally found a thread that makes sense of types. Does anyone have a list of what each type corresponds to?
  2. Wait so it wouldn't run a sync cycle check (whatever one of those is) because the sync is invalid? In that case how is an invalid sync nothing to worry about? I have no idea what a PID call is or what "highest bit" means either unless it just means the highest number/part : / What about the other that say neither valid or invalid for that final line? Also, what on earth do the different "types" in the PID/IV generator refer to? Thanks for trying to help but I'm very confused here Edit: Ok, just to clarify what I'm asking, I found another thread with the same issue that wasn't answered: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?6765-Pokesav-PID-IV-Generator-Headers-Types It makes sense now, Pokesav clearly isn't displaying what it should be. Any way to fix it or a list of which type corresponds to which game?
  3. I can't find and explanation anywhere. There seem to be 8(?) types in the PID/IV generator in Pokesave and I don't know which Pokemon should be fitting into which type. It's to do with the game of origin right? How do I know which game is which type though? I made a Palkia and Scizor, both type 1 and they came up Valid in Pokesav. My Mewtwo, Kyogre and Lugia just say Common NDS, no errors but it doesn't say Valid in green. Is that an issue? Finally, this Arceus is coming up invalid, I assume it's also a type issue. It's type 1 which I thought was right but obviously something's up... Thanks for any help, if there is a guide somewhere about type that I've stupidly missed I'd appreciate a link, it'll save you having to explain it to me
  4. I'm using the PID generator in Pokesav and I want a Scizor that's male, Adamant and has Technician. However the "type" bit confuses me because I don't really know what it means. Is it to do with what game they're from? What types are legitimate for Scizor and which ones should I avoid? Oh and it'd be handy to know what types I can use for Palkia too, thanks
  5. Yeah, pretty sure I had the same thing on my unhacked Wobbuffet and Staraptor, nothing to worry about.
  6. Lol that was a bit hard to decipher Thanks for the info though, I was just a bit confused but if the guide is right that's cool. Thanks for the clarification Utopia
  7. Then why does the legality guide say this: Hatched Pokémon 1. Region/Version, choose either Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum 2. Ball Caught With to Pokéball 3. Egg Hatched at to DayCareCouple 4. Met Level to 0 5. Met at Place to a location that is in the game, where an egg may hatch. Common locations include Route 209. : /
  8. Oh so I have them the wrong way round? "Met at" is where it hatched and "hatched at" is where you got the egg (daycare couple)? The legality guide seems to back that up but it seems a bit backwards : /
  9. Ok so I'm making a hatched Pokemon in Pokesav and it's come from Daycare. I assume that I should set the "met at" location to Daycare Couple and not Pokemon Daycare right? Pokemon Daycare is just the location or the building or something where you wouldn't ordinarily receive an egg right?
  10. 1.) Can this be any 5 digit number at all? Is it safe to change it to anything you please? 2.) If you do change it, is there anything you'd need to do in order to not mess up your game? For example you'd obviously need to update all your Pokemon to have the new ID if you wanted them to appear as your own but is that all you'd need to do? Any help and/or info is muchly appreciated Edit: Also what about SID? Can that be the same as the trainer ID and can it also be anything at all?
  11. I made an Arceus in PokeSav and pretty sure I did the Hex values right and the PID matches the IVs etc but it's come up like this... Can someone please talk me through how to change that bottom bit to what it's meant to be in PokeSav please? Thanks a lot in advance. Oh and if there's anything else that looks out of place please let me know, cheers Edit: Aha! I changed the SpD IV to one lower and got another PID and it worked, perhaps the other was Diamond/Pearl and not Platinum. Anyways can someone just confirm to me that this is all looking good now? I assume so as it's all valid but this is first time I've done it:
  12. Hmmm I wonder if that'd work for mine, might try it, thanks Edit: Nah that doesn't work, they're slightly different sizes. Nevermind, card reader it is I suppose
  13. I've installed the code manager and it seem to be working fine, if I open that it shows when the DSi is connetected/disconnected via USB cable but there isn't anything to do with saves. I thought it would appear in My Computer so I could takes stuff from it like a memory stick/drive but there's nothing there. Codejunkies website is useless and the instructions tell me nothing about how to get a save onto PC. Am I gonna need to get a separate Micro SD Card reader? Please help
  14. Hmmm that makes sense. Still, changing my ID's won't allow me to get a certain Pokemon I couldn't get with the previous ID will it?
  15. Ok thanks, wasn't sure if it'd even show up. Can someone please explain the "type" thing to me though so I can understand it a bit better?
  16. Everywhere says leave it at Pokeball for hatched Pokemon but will it actually cause any legality problems if it's in another ball? Also, Arceus has to be be "Type 1" in the generator in Pokesav because it's a Legendary, right? I don't really understand what the types relate to so an explanation would be appreciated.
  17. I know but why does it need you trainer/secret ID in order to generate them? It only seems to be necessary for some generators but I haven't seen one that can generate shinies without them. Basically, what I want to check is... Is it possible to get/not get certain PIDs depending on your trainer/secret ID or do they remain the same in every game no matter what ID you use?
  18. PIDs aren't random as far as I can tell so why would the trainer have an effect on them? If a PID can't be found for one trainer it wouldn't be possible for any trainer right? So why is it necessary in PID generators?
  19. Okies, I'll make the non-shiny one as well just in-case of legality issues then, thanks Edit: One more quick question... Arceus has to be be "Type 1" in Pokesav because it's a Legendary, right? o_O
  20. Ok thanks, guess I could just make a non-shiny for online battles and then another for use offline then Would the first one actually fail the online battling checks btw or is it just an obvious hack to people who know what they're looking for?
  21. I want a Shiny Arceus that's Adamant with IVs of 31 all round (except SP attack which can be anything). I've tried but it doesn't seem like a PID can be generated for this so I may have to hatch it instead. This will bypass a missmatching PID and IVs right? However, will it also make it illegal because Arceus can't usually be hatched? Edit: Oh and does where I met the Pokemon matter for a hatched one or can it be anything? o_O Edit again : Figure I'll keep my last couple of questions in here with the rest but I just wanted confirmation that for this Arceus I shouldn't be ticking the fateful encounter box should I? Also in the "Generate" box in PokeSav I still don't quite understand what "class" is for or whether Arceus should have 1 or 2? Think that covers everything for now, any help is very much appreciated
  22. Thanks for the tip, guess I'll go for it and be hope I don't get compatibility issues (don't really see why I would but I'm cautious when it comes to AR) One other thing though... What do I need in order to get the save onto my PC? Some sort of Micro SD card reader or what?
