  1. 1.) In the "Main" tab, set "Origin" to whatever game you want it to be from originally (obviously make sure they can actually be found in that game). The thing to remember about the "Met" tab is that it's where you met the Pokemon in Black/White,not where you met it in the game of origin. So, if it's a Pokemon from another game, set "Location" to "(Poketransfer)", it's near the top of the list, (not Poketransfer Lab, I assume that's just for if an egg hatches in the building or something). Ball Should be a regular Poke Ball if it was originally meant to be an egg but it shouldn't really matter as long as you select a ball that's available in the game of origin. The Level is the level that you met it at when it was transferred to Black/White. The ID and SID can be anything you like as long as they're valid (they must match up correctly to the PID for Shiny Pokemon). 2.) The date above should be the date you met it in Black/White (so when you Poketransferred it). 3.) If you hover over the drop-down it will tell you, it's just how the game generates PIDs, don't worry about them. 4.) Pretty sure it's just to show you that they're highlighted and to let you drag them around easier.
  2. IIRC it should be Entree Forest, at least that's what I saw in a topic here a while back. Can't remember which topic though so you might want someone to confirm that.
  3. Hang on, you used the PID generator for a Gen V Pokemon? Has it been updated now? o_O
  4. Why is your 4th column an 0 in the 5th row? I can only see one 1. Anyways I got stuck around that part too. Does it not work if the Trainer ID and SID are the same? Mine just ended up always being 0000 0000 0000 0000 : / Here are my first 4 rows: 1010 0001 1000 0110 0110 0011 1001 0110 0100 0101 0111 1011 0100 0101 0111 1011 Now if I'm doing it right I add the number of 1s in each column and if they're odd I put a 1 in the 5th row and if they're even I put an 0 and I end up with this... 1010 0001 1000 0110 0110 0011 1001 0110 0100 0101 0111 1011 0100 0101 0111 1011 1100 0010 0001 0000 Is that right? Now for the next bit am I including the 5th row in the addition? I assume so otherwise it'd just be the same for every row so I do the same again and get this... 1010 0001 1000 0110 0110 0011 1001 0110 0100 0101 0111 1011 0100 0101 0111 1011 1100 0010 0001 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 I must be doing something wrong here, that or I can't use the same number for Trainer ID and SID (although that doesn't make much sense to me). I'd really appreciate some help as to what I'm missing, thanks.
  5. Yeah looks good to me too although I didn't check the PID. Just remember that when the Dreamworld abilities get released you need to put 01 in the "66 (0x42)" part of the Trash Bytes.
  6. Just thought I'd point out that there seems to be an error here. This should be the Hex box shouldn't it? I'm sure most people can work it out but yeah, I figured I should point it out. Edit: Also, in the "shiny" section, shouldn't the first ">" be a "<"?
  7. At the moment, PokeGen for creating Pokemon and PokeSav if you want to edit your items, IDs or move whole boxes of Pokemon at once. Acanto's Guide is awesome and you shouldn't have too many problems if you follow it properly. I'd say be thorough, double-check everything and you'll find it quite simple to make legit Pokes. Oh and I'd recommend using the PID Finder in PokeGen for anything pre-Gen V. As long as it isn't supposed to look like it was caught in Black/White it'll get you legit PIDs.
  8. Lol that's pretty cool then, maybe I'll try it out sometime
  9. So, I've been using Acanto's Guide (which is awesome btw ) but it's got me wondering about something. If it's true that Gen V PIDs only relate to gender, ability and shininess then does that mean something like a Legendary could theoretically have any PID you wanted and still be legal if you don't care about shininess? I mean, they have no gender and usually only one ability (other than the hidden one) so they can be either type/class. Does this mean I could pretty much put in a PID like 777777777 (which comes out as an 8 digit hex code and seems to conform to the rules in Acanto's Guide) and still have the game think it's perfectly legal or is it just wishful thinking?
  10. I found that if I manually input the 41h value (or whatever the new nature hex value is) in PokeSav Black/White I can then load the .sav into PokeGen and it'll recognise the nature. Either way it's nothing to worry about.
  11. Sorry if I've overlooked something obvious but I'm wanting to move about 3 boxes of Pokemon from Platinum to White and I can't find an option in Pokegen/Sav to do it. If I have to do them all one by one that's fine but if there's an easier way it'd be cool to know.
  12. Hmmm so I'm wondering something... If I create a Pokemon that's supposedly been caught in Black/White but it has no gender, only one ability (besides hidden) and isn't shiny (Mewtwo for example) then would the Gen IV PID still work in Gen V?
  13. I just want to double check a few things to make sure I've done this right and I'd appreciate it if someone can help me out. Ok, so, I've set the location met to 3002 Faraway Place, this is correct right? I'm not sure what region to enter though since HeartGold/SoulSilver aren't on the drop down in Platinum Pokesav. The other thing is the Hidden Hex. For 46h I've got C7 and left 47h at 00. Is that right? I looked in the guide and Cerulean Cave is C7 in hex which works out as 00C7 if I'm understanding it correctly. Also, should 85h just be 05 for a cave? If anyone can just confirm these for me I'd very much appreciate it. .pkm file is attached if anyone wants to look at it. EDIT: Hmm, well after a bit of testing it seems that Heart Gold just appears as Johto (Gold) in Pokesav. I loaded the same file into PokeGen and it recognises it as Heart Gold so I guess everything is ok. If anyone wants to confirm all this it'd be nice but otherwise no worries, guess this can be closed/left to die/whatevers Mewtwo-Platinum.pkm
  14. Ok thanks, I think I'm ok now using the PokeTransfer Lab thing too but I'll have a look at that too
  15. Awesome, thanks a lot. Can't believe I didn't think of the PokeTransfer Lab thing tbh. It makes so much more sense since that's technically where you're meeting the Pokemon for the first time in Black/White.
  16. Thanks, seems very complex to me but also very useful. This should hopefully help me for transferring my Gen IV Pokemon to Gen V. Edit: One quick question, if I'm making a Pokemon appear transferred through the Lab what do I set "Origin" to in the main tab? Should it be Black/White or left as D/P/Pt?
  17. Ok, so what will I actually need to do to make my Piplup appear legit and traded from Platinum to White, if anything? I'm actually still awaiting my NDS Adaptor Plus but once I can get my White save file into PokeGen would I just load up my Pip from Platinum (target game as White), set it to a party slot, fix the names/nature, ignore the met data (including the big red box) and everything should still be ok? Maybe I should just wait until I can actually try it out, I was just trying to get prepared for trading my Pokemon from Gen IV to V via PokeGen.
  18. Awesome, thanks a lot. I shall try that. Btw, I'll edit the topic, just realised I put .sav when I meant .pkm, apologies but I think you knew what I meant Edit: Just tried this and it seems to work but what if I then want to save it as a Gen V .pkm. If I change target game back to Black/White it just seems to assume the Pokemon was met there instead
  19. Ok, first of all I'd like to say thanks to Codr, PokeGen is awesome and I particularly love the shiny SID finder, very useful. However I have a few questions about when I load an existing .pkm file from Platinum into PokeGen, I'll apologise in advance if some of these questions seem silly but I'm not an expert. Most of it is probably nothing to worry about but I wanted to get it checked anyway. So, my .pkm is a Piplup that comes out as Legit in the Gen IV legality checker. When I import to PokeGen, however it does a few things. Firstly, it changes the Nickname and Trainer Name into weird code, I assume I'm fine in simply changing this myself and it shouldn't cause any problems. Secondly, the nature changes from Timid to Hardy. Bit odd but, again, I assume I can just edit this myself and it'll be fine. Next, the main thing I'm concerned about is the data in the "met" tab: I can only set game to "Black/White" in the drop down menu, does this mean the game takes the "met" data as you meeting the Pokemon when it's traded to Black/White? Should I even be worrying? Then there's location, I know there are known issues but it comes out as a Red Bar. Should I change this to "Sinnoh" as the Piplup was hatched there or should it be set to "FarawayPlace" or something else? Also, should the "Met at level" be 0 or 1? Finally, in "Hatch Conditions" there's the same thing as before, only "Black/White" available. Is this fine to leave blank? The only other thing I'm a bit unsure of is the Trash Bites, I've run it through a normaliser and it's currently on the first option (66 (0x42)) with no extra bytes. Hopefully this is fine as it is. If anyone wants to check the .savs I've got they are attached. Pip-Platinum is obviously the .pkm from Platinum and Pip-White is the one I've imported to PokeGen and edited to try to make it all correct. If someone can assist in answering any/all of my questions I'd very much appreciate it, thanks Pip-Platinum.pkm Pip-White.pkm

    PID/IV Generator

Ok thanks, I just thought the others might be needed for pokemon coming from older games likes FR/LG etcs. If not that's cool though.
  21. Hmmm well I'm not sure exactly where I'd upload a .pkm file to, never done that before. Here's a link to the edit screen in Pokesav if that helps at all: http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/6066/pokemonzi.jpg All I really wanna know is if the Arceus is ok. Also is a Pokemon like this ok?: It says nothing about the sync at all, neither valid or invalid so is it cool? All my Pokemon that are not from D/P/Pt come up like that.
