Greencat Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Just out of curiosity, what's your Internet Download Speed? Mine, which is extremely unfortunate, is 30KB/S.
Poryhack Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 If you guys want an accurate comparison you'll have to know the difference between kilobytes per second and kilobits per second. The speed in kilobytes would be written as KB/s and the speed in kilobits would be Kb/s (the capitalization on the K doesn't matter). One kilobyte is equal to 8 kilobits. As you can see up above, my download is 5.36 megabits per second, which equals 686 kilobytes per second.
Arandomproduction1 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Wow I live in Twin Cities to Poryhack lol, but back to on topic
Toffeuy Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Here's mine: Kitty, you serious 30KB/sec is that even possible? Unfortunate about my upload speed it's really slow...
HottSushiz Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 When i was in China my Dad's download speed was 355 KB/sec. Siriusly Kitty!!! When I'm older I'm defiantly getting the fastest speed. But that does depend if i get a job that can keep up with the payment.
YuzuruHitokiri Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 You guys are so lucky...I..can't...even...do..the..speed..test...because...I..have...A...DIAL...UP...MODEM!!! T.T This forum alone takes a good 2 min minimum per page to load... ... ... ... Hell, peak performance in it is 5KB/s but it doesn't happen often... I'm usually stuck with 2KB/s or less... T'T...
Neo Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I have a 25mb connection normally but this is what it is giving me today
SilentFox Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) 55kb/sec So GreenCat I can understand ... Edited August 7, 2009 by SilentFox Wrong name >_>
Vlad Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 But that's not fun! So I tested connecting to somewhere far like New York: (I want more upload btw!)
evandixon Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Jackson MS: Seatle Washington: I'm relatively near Memphis, TN, on a wireless connection.
Poryhack Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Jackson MS: Seatle Washington: I'm relatively near Memphis, TN, on a wireless connection. Why is your download over twice as fast for the one 1900 miles from you?
Enzo Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Very low. My network maxes out at 2mb/s but individual machines usually get .5mb/s
Ziz Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Jacksonville, Florida: That's the closest location it gave me. I live near Charleston, SC The results are surprising considering how old this computer is.
Godzilla231 Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 It's around that, and to think I thought this is fast compared to your guy's speed. =|
Delta Blast Burn Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Heres mine. Another one. Another one. Yet another, so far the fastest. Woot, New Zealand, ftw. About the same but the farthest away.
Greencat Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 At school: 24mbps Download / 24mbps Upload At my brothers: 25mbps Download / 15mbps Upload At my home: 3mbps Download / 3mbps Upload I spend half my time at the other two locations though.
YuzuruHitokiri Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Finally got better internet about two years ago... The connection usually fluctuates (due to the crappy ISP), but it averages around 3Mb/s down and 1Mb/s up... ...oh, but when I'm at work (which is also my school), I get EXTREMELY jealous... We have 50+Mb/s download and 55+Mb/s upload!.. EDIT: I took this today, while working, at peak usage here... THIS IS WHY I'M JEALOUS!!! Edited March 21, 2012 by YuzuruHitokiri
