BW Event - Gamestop Keldeo (US)

For the USA players, the retailer store, GameStop is offering a download of the Pokémon, Keldeo from August 27th to October 6th. This offers Keldeo in its Ordinary Form and can be changed to Resolute Form when traded to Pokémon Black 2 & White 2. It can also learn Secret Sword in Black & White when taken to the Moor of Icirrus. Presumably, it will be identical to the Japanese event currently running.

Technically, it's because the event ends the day before B2W2 goes on sale.

Why they chose to do that, though, is probably do to trying to drive game pre-orders. With this event, they give Pokemon fans a reason to come into the store, then say "Well, while you're here, why not reserve B2W2?" Demographic-specific marketing. They're targeting people who own BW because they are extremely likely to want B2W2. And Gamestop WANTS pre-orders cause they evidently can't stay in business simply selling games and must always push pre-orders and membership cards/magazines.

I will probably be released early like every GameStop event, since their distribution carts are always leaked.

The Official Pokemon Website has also posted a brief note on this event. They will be releasing more details on August 20th. I agree with Guested that this is just a way to drive pre-orders for the B2W2 games. It would be interesting if this event turned out to be similar to the Celebi event for HGSS just before BW released that, when traded, could be used to get Zorua.

There's a rumor about that this time the US distribution will also have the other European languages on the distribution carts.

If you are able to go to a Gamestop today to get this Keldeo, please bring along any/all games of the EU languages (Spanish, Italian, French, German) to see whether or not this is true. And of course, we'd like to add those WCs to the Gallery.
