Fallen Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 So the movie looks pretty awesome from the few previews that have been released. My question is do you think it'll be the best Pokémon movie so far? What are you thoughts about the movie?
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I'm sure everyone knows my thought's by now. But my favorite Pokemon Movie is with Mewtwo and Mew ''Mewtwo VS. Mew'' for my birthday 9 year's ago. Then i really liked ''The Return of Mewtwo'' - Amazing movie... That's all i can say.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I liked the Lugia movie. I was all like, THERE'S TWO?! And to answer the question, I don't think it can beat the classics.
Guested Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Seriously, though... Why does everyone's translation of the title suck so much? Serebii's is the WORST. It really should be translated as: "To the Conquering of Space-Time"
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Or at least Arceus: Towards the Overcome of Time and Space. Sound's mush better to me.
Zowayix Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Seriously, though...Why does everyone's translation of the title suck so much? Serebii's is the WORST. It really should be translated as: "To the Conquering of Space-Time" No. The title directly translates as "To the Space-Time of Conquer{ing}/Overcome{ing}" or "To the Conquer{ing}/Overcome{ing}['s] Space-Time", not as "Conquering of Space-Time" or "Space-Time's Conquering". Just like "Gracidea no Hana" translates as "Flower of Gracidea" or "Gracidea['s] Flower", and not as "Gracidea of Flower" or "Flower's Gracidea".
Guested Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 No.The title directly translates as "To the Space-Time of Conquer{ing}/Overcome{ing}" or "To the Conquer{ing}/Overcome{ing}['s] Space-Time", not as "Conquering of Space-Time" or "Space-Time's Conquering". Just like "Gracidea no Hana" translates as "Flower of Gracidea" or "Gracidea['s] Flower", and not as "Gracidea of Flower" or "Flower's Gracidea". And that's why direct translations fail. The particle の cannot be defined so simply. No particles can, actually. BUT, since this one works in either case, I guess it would really depend on the intended meaning of the title... If it was meant as conquering time and space, then "The Conquering of Space-Time." But if it was referring to a specific Space-Time that had an essence of conquering to itself, then in that case "The Space-Time of Conquering." So I think it depends on the focus of the movie... is it a battle for Space-Time? Or is it about the Distortion World? At any rate, I think "overcoming" and the apostrophe s just don't seem to fit, or make sense.
damio Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I would have to say the first or second movies I can't decide >.<
HottSushiz Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I wouldn't say best, but there really hasn't been any Pokemon Movie that makes me wanna watch it again, although the Rise of Darkrai was pretty wicked, like Dialga, and Palkia facing off, pretty epic, and Darkrai vsing Mewtwo, pure awesomeness, but they ruined it at the end, making Dakrai a good guy, he's suppose to be dark, mysterious, and creepy.
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 What's this about Mewtwo battling Darkrai. I thought it was a fake image.
Enkidu Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I have actually never seen an entire Pokemon movie. I guess I'll totally go and see this one with my little brother if It comes out this summer haha. When does it come out by the way?
Jayc Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 What's this about Mewtwo battling Darkrai. I thought it was a fake image. PokeSho's, I think.
HottSushiz Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Oh wait, i didn't watch the movie completely, well it was on, but i was also on my laptop, so i may of missed some parts, and when i saw that image, i assumed it was in the movie,........... my bad.
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I always knew that it's fake ,but for the sake of doubt i asked.(just look at Mewtwo's tail isn't that like Mew's a bit?)
