gab7dcc Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 YES! ^^ I'll be getting HeartGold because I never caught a Ho-oh in my Pokemon Crystal. haha. I'm such a noob. I didn't know that you need to catch the legendary dogs before you gain access to Ho-oh's place. Besides, I only had Suicune.

I did catch the two remaining beasts but it took forever. Are you new here? I haven't seen you before
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I honestly can't say I ever played Crystal before. I'm a glitch from the Johto in Gold and Silver, not Crystal. But is that what you have to do to catch Ho-oh?! That sounds so aggravating.
Aarux Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Oh, yeah, it's aggravating, all right. I just grabbed my BrainBoy and set the beasts' Dex entries as "seen" so I could find them easily.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 (edited) That's so bad. But I don't have a single doubt in my mind that the GS ball will be in this game. I'm sure it will. Edited May 27, 2009 by FLOOTENKERP
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Gold is going to be the most sold out of both of them.
wraith89 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Gold is going to be the most sold out of both of them. We don't know that yet. Back when it was G vs. S, it was gold that sold more. But for now, we don't know about HG and SS.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 The main game always sells more. Red sold more then Blue and Green, Gold sold more then Silver, Ruby sold more then Sapphire, Fire Red sold more then Leaf Green, and Diamond sold more then Pearl. I'm sure the streak will go on.
wraith89 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 But none of them are main. They're both equally important. If there ever was a main game, it would always be the third version.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Actually it used to match names. Red belonged to Red and your rival was the minor game. Same with Gold belonging to Gold and Silver belonging to the rival. The main game is the one that belongs to the player's name. Ruby and Sapphire are unknown, but it has been speculated Ruby was the main game since both the boy and the girl's names were Brandon and May. Same with Diamond and Pearl.

That still has nothing to do with it. It was all... idk. People just like the color red or whatnot. :-/
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Don't you think it's too coincidental that the matching names sold more then the rival names?
wraith89 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Don't you think it's too coincidental that the matching names sold more then the rival names? Most people don't even know that fact. Some people only play the games and just pick out the red color for some reason. Don't ask me why.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I'm pretty sure that some people out there know which is the main game. It's a fact that Gold is a main game and it sold more then Silver.
wraith89 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 SOME (read: few) but not all. I can't say I bought Gold because I read the manga. I never did. I just got whichever one really... or maybe the distribution of whichever ones were more in stock had an effect on it. You can't assume something is because it appears like so like those blasted, er... never mind.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Well I think that's the reason. It's impossible that it was coincidental twice in a row.
bear831 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Well then you should make a poll and we will have a site consensus to see if this is true.
wraith89 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Well then you should make a poll and we will have a site consensus to see if this is true. It's not worth its own thread. Just post in the SPECULATION thread. It's there for a reason
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Well that's to speculate what will be in the game, now how many will sell. And since this is a buying thread, I said that HG will sell more then SS. I'll drive it back on topic then. Heart Gold is what I'm buying first. Soul Silver is what I'm buying second.
Fallen Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 Why do you think HG will sell more that SS? Lugia, if anything, is slightly more popular.
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Actually i do think that HG will be a better seller. I personally like Ho-Oh because i'm more of an offense type of battler.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Well, since the game shares the same name as the name of the real player, they assume that Gold is the main name, considering the fact that Silver is your rival's name.
