  2. Nintendo Attempts to Drown Hacked 3DSs with Banwave

Don't think its that, tho. If I'm not mistaken, many of freeshop games are tickets that were bundled with a console on launch, and I think those games tickets were the same across those consoles. Right now, it appears that Nintendo captures what you're playing now and what you last played if your 3DS was connected to the network, so if you had a homebrew title being captured as either of those, they log your console details down, then ban as a wave. There hasn't been newer ban reports after users take measures to avoid that type of scenario, but it could also be because wave is over and will come later..

Wait, this won't "unban" you. It's just that if you weren't banned (002-0102), this may help reduce the 3DS' communication with servers. Odd, my router blocks everything except for npdl.cdn.nintendowifi.net and conntest.nintendowifi.net , and I was able to do a few battles and wonder trades just now. 003-2001 isn't a ban message, it's just that the 3ds isn't able to communicate with the necessary servers, to validate and allow the online gameplay. (not the same as a ban)

not blocking conntest.nintendowifi.net should resolve that (That's what happened to me..)

Thanks for the list! Btw, blocking the above one may prevent mystery gift connections. (not sure about the rest) edit: blocking conntest.nintendowifi.net prevents game sync and pgl usage. (couldn't use battle spot until I removed that entry)

not necessarily, just don't go online. (plus if you uninstall CFW, and update to 11.4, there's no other way to get back to CFW right now, I think)
  7. Nintendo Attempts to Drown Hacked 3DSs with Banwave

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but there is no point in attempting the unbanning procedures at this point, simply because after you unban yourself, They could ban you again The methods listed doesn't create "an unlimited amount of Seed (localfriendcode)", which means eventually you'll be run out of seeds to unban yourself. (which frankly if you're lucky, you only get 1 extra seed from the same 3DS, before having to buy other 3DSs to grab their seeds to unban yourself) What's important is for devs to identify how the 3DSs got identified/detected for the ban. and until that can be prevented/circumvented, Nintendo can just up and ban you again and again. So guys, time patiently to wait. If I'm not mistaken, AuroraWright's standing theory is the titlelist is being sent to the server. No more fancy FBI and JKSM from your home page; time to run HBL through Health & Safety. (as well as disabling Spotpass information sending and Friends information sharing)

The bans should be permanent, as per last time. When will they decide to stop attacking in waves? No idea, we don't work for Nintendo
  9. Nintendo Attempts to Drown Hacked 3DSs with Banwave

Nope. They've already researched this long before. The seed isn't miraculously regenerated. It appears that system transfer *may* swap seed once, but that's about it. Removing and faking the RSA is the tedious part, so that shouldn't be thrown around that easily. Until we get word from any of the devs, treat that portion as impossible. As said, seed swapping methods existed, but right now if they upped their game with detection, you might end up getting your swapped seed banned too.
  10. Nintendo Attempts to Drown Hacked 3DSs with Banwave

Nope. Think of it like this. Your seed file (LocalFriendCodeSeed) remains unaltered, between the present nand and backed-up nand. Nintendo server side blacklisted your seed, so you won't be able to use their online services. Hence, the Nand backup makes no difference, as said above, the seed file is the same, and you're banned server side. The only way is to import a seed from another device thats not banned, but they could very well ban that second seed. To add on, IIRC the Seed has a RSA signature, and the signature method wasn't dumped (I think sighax has no hold over it), meaning that seeds cannot be generated. The research into the Seed file and unbanning of 002-0102 has been around since the first Pokemon Sun & Moon Pirates ban. This situation is more severe than the original, because at the beginning only those that pirate SM early played games before official release got banned, but it seems they have a newer detection method to catch anyone using CFW, even if they aren't pirating games early, so unbanning by doing a seed swap might be pointless, cause if they could detect it easily, they could just ban the 3DS again. (or make things worse, even do a NNID & Device ID ban)

CFW cannot create the seed file.
  12. Nintendo Attempts to Drown Hacked 3DSs with Banwave

save game file isn't the problem. It's a blacklist held on Nintendo Server side. Every console has a unique "seed file", once they log that and ban that seed file, you won't be able to connect.

we can't trust hearsay. Let's just wait for analysis and findings.

depends on what model you have. O3DS/O3DS XL will be the physical switch on the side 2DS/N3DS/N3DSXL will be done via Home Menu
