Hi Transferred a few Mons from Gen 4 through Gen 5 to Gen 6. They‘re all breeded and been transferred through PkHex (it says PokeTransporter in the Met Location). When I want to change the Pokeball from Normal to Ultra Ball, it says: Invalid encounter type for ball Is there a general rule for how Balls are being considered legal when transferred between generations? Thanks for any input. If needed I can provide a further example.

So I originally wanted to add new Pokemon/Forms to XY but after some research it seems no one has figured out how to actually add new Pokemon, so from my understanding, custom Pokemon are made by replacing existing ones. I am trying to import some models using Ohana3DS + Rebirth, and SPICA. None of these seem to work properly for me. From what I've found/read: -SPICA's import button was never actually programmed; it's just a dead button -Ohana 3DS Rebirth cannot replace existing models, only textures. Even if I try to import a model (.DAE) it just gives me an Unhandled Exception error and crashes. This happens whenever I try opening another file too, so pretty much every time an "Open File..." Window appears for the second time, it dies. -The Original Ohana 3DS can only replace parts of a model, and animations aren't an option. Also, it seems the only accepted filetype is .OBJ, but this isn't the end of the world. I am struggling to find any info on workarounds, so I'm asking here: How does one properly replace existing models, textures and animations for these games? Thanks

I've recently started a hunt for shiny Torchic in ORAS via soft reseting. Usually I'm really impatient and give up on hunts like these so i thought that if I had someone to compete with me in a shiny race, I'll be more motivated to keep going. Is anyone willing to join me on the hunt for a shiny hoenn starter? Whoever wins the race.........gets...........a shiny, of course. If I don't respond instantly, dont worry, ill get back to you.

I just tested this in the Battle Maison (after removing the banlist restrictions). Gave Arceus Protean, moved it to battle box, and when doing a rotation battle it would not change types when using a move. Thought this was a battle box thing (or maybe a rotation battle thing) but as it turns out my Arceus with the Protean ability would not change types regardless of where it battled (even tested against wild pokemon). Double-triple confirmed that Arceus did in fact have the ability Protean while in-battle. I thought this was very suspicious and decided to test other abilities, like Wonder Guard. Sure enough, Arceus with Wonderguard is protected by non-fighting moves.... so maybe I'm going crazy, maybe I messed up my game, but the specific combination of an Arceus with Protean hacked as its ability does not work and it is making me confused lol. Does anyone know anything about this, could confirm that this is in fact true, or might have an explanation as to why this is? My theory is that, just as the ability Multitype cannot work with any other pokemon, neither can Protean be used on an Arceus due to the nature of what Arceus does. Just a very rare thing... and I'm sure many people have played with Protean Arceus in Balanced Hackmons or other Hackmons formats in this game, not knowing that this could not technically be possible in the real game.

Importing Gen 6 Mechanics into USUM
isleep2late posted a topic in ROM - 3DS Research and Development
Hello, I've been looking into a project where I import certain mechanics in generation 6 into the gen 7 games. Specifically, I am interested in the following (in order of importance): Returning the ability Parental Bond to its glory and making it deal 1.5x the amount of damage instead of 1.25x Returning the ability Gale Wings to its glory and making it give priority to a flying-type move regardless of whether a pokemon is at max HP Allowing Prankster to be used against Dark-types Returning Soul Dew to boosting Latios and Latias's Special Attack and Special Defense by 50% instead of... whatever it does now Allow Sheer Cold to be used against ice-types, and to not have its accuracy lowered by non-ice users Returning Pixilate, Aerilate and Refrigerate to 130% instead of 120% (not that big a deal of this or Sheer Cold can't be done) Again, not that big a deal, but removing all the little nerfs to status conditions (confusion back to 50% from its now 33%, paralysis's speed back to 25% from 50%, burn back to 12.5% from its now 6.25%) I've been reading up on editing abilities (not just changing which Pokemon gets what ability to literally modifying abilities and what they do) and it seems like it hasn't really been done yet publicly. I've also been told that the abilities are not in any GARC but can be found in the exefs. Does anyone have any experience with any of this, or can point me in the right direction? Your help is greatly appreciated. -

Hi all This might be a strange request and sorry if it's not allowed. I need a file save after completing the game with 1 Pokemon only (solo run) so I can edit the Hall Of Fame with PKHex with it as Pokehex doesn't support adding/removing Pokemon from the HoF, only editing them. I'm compiling pictures of all my solo runs HoF but I lost my X solo run save file and I don't want to play the game again from the scratch. It doesn't matter what information and data you put it, just 1 Pokemon in a Hall of Fame entry. Thank you in advance.

Hello. I've been using pkhex for multiple games over the course of ~1,5 years, mainly Y, OR, Sun and US. However, what was always consistent is the fact that after I edited a Pokemon once, it started disobeying me, even though i've never changed anything. Basically, I can view the pokemon and immediately set it again and the next time I throw it out to battle it starts disobeying me / appears to be from a different trainer. In addition to that, if I enable early mega evolution in USUM, all of my pokemon start appears to be from a different OT. I believe I finally found the reason for that. You see, my ingame name is "Fabian♂" (i know its stupid, its kind of a running gag and i'd love to keep it). I don't know if this is an issue thats exclusively to the German version of the game, but my games use a different ♂-character than pkhex does. I can't really show this in pkhex because it changes the name immediately, but it is visible in pksm and the games. Here is an unedited slowpoke. As you can see, there is a ?-Character in the ot-line, and not the ♂-character: top_0001.bmp top_0005.bmp And here is a Larvesta, which hatched from an egg after I checked the "Early Mega evolution"-Box and saved the game. The Larvesta was inserted with pkhex by using the slowpoke as the base. top_0003.bmp top_0004.bmp If you compare the two ingame screenshots, you can see that the ♂-character in the picture of Slowpoke is slightly lower than the one in the screenshot of Larvesta. Below are two saves, the first one is from before editing anything and the second one is after activating early mega evolution and nothing else. main - before activating mega main - after activating mega Thanks for looking into this, I'm sorry if my english is a little off, I'm not a native speaker.

How do I determine which memories are assigned to which index? When checking a pokemon's legality, occasionally, it will tell me that memories are expected to be different indices, usually on internally traded pokemon (in game trades with npcs) that got touched by pksm. I tried to pick through the source on GitHub, and I searched with the search function in this forum, but nothing came up that specifically listed which memory ("{0} did blah with {2} blah blah {1}") was matched to which index number ("Invalid: OT Memory: TextVar should be index 40", etc etc). Apologies if this is the wrong place to post, this is my first post here, and the "read before posting" said "This forum section IS for requesting information on how a feature works."
