    <p><p><p><p><p><p>Actually, Japan did some whole creepy bunch of experimentation on their Chinese and Korean colonies in the early 20th century. Some scary things were going on... and now the communist countries are still doing it.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>North Korea... my own brethren unfortunate enough to be "living" where life is hell, are experimented over and over for nuclear purposes I will bet. It is not even a country: it is a large concentration camp of some kind.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    Oh, well I did not play it so I was just looking at the screenies and saw Aerodactyl and Lapras, whose stats would be much above average Pokemon at that point. That has only made me wonder if it required tons of grinding. And I wonder why everybody is going nuzlocke these days? I started Red version on Nuzlocke a while ago, but stopped for a while due to real life and all. Casualty so far was Lv. 19 Rattata, which hurts because it was the first time I really used one, and Hyper Fang was deadly, and it would have evolved in just one more level. Stupid crits and 99.6% accuracy rule Eh why not? I will give it a try soon.

    Eh I wouldn't want another generic Fire Pokemon with Grass Knot and Energy Ball and all that: they did that to nearly everyone. Though Earth Power seems nice... and oddly fitting. It just wants Flame Charge I think, and perhaps some electric moves or something. Idk. The best way to improve it is to make it the NU/UU Heatran or something... with the extra Steel typing, it can gain many resistances and have a myriad of options to work with. It has a wasted 9X attack power... I hope that can be capitalised too. I think... it want some signature move or something. Have you found any role for that thing so far that differentiates it from other Fires? I certainly have not so far... asides from being the obligatory ant eater to destroy Durants, it does not even do that job THAT well in competitive battling, nor does it have much going for it in general. Can somebody tell me why Grass Knot is nearly universal on things that do not seem like they can learn it?

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>I'd like to believe Ninetales is superior to Infernape, but we all know that is not true. At least it can claim status and "better bulk". I used Ninetales in OU before these Drought freaks came about: Flash Fire was not bad. At least Energy Ball was consistent. Yeah yeah... keep talking, they say.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>Cryogonal is horrid: but I was proving the point that Articuno sucks so much that even Cryogonal has better utility. At least it can even revenge Garchomp, has some cool utility moves... but I think Gamefreak is just there to mess up the Ice Pokemon. It is a conspiracy. </p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>Then there is that anime logic: Pikachu defeats Regice, ties with Latios, but loses to a Snivy. .___.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>If Articuno sucks then it is outclassed regardless... especially by a non legendary Ice/Flying? I still consider that outclassing. Heck, people even claimed Ninetales to be outclassed by Infernape in Gen IV despite their difference in roles. And speaking of roles, I don't even think Articuno had a defined role. Well, okay, they wanted it to be a tank, but it just cannot do that.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>I definitely don't want some random Ice/Flying to be much better than a legendary. That would only be embarrassing and would further prove Gamefreak's trollingness.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>Rock is only more useful with sand in that case though. Only reason Registeel is more universally used is because of its typing: its many resistances are just too good to pass off.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>Honestly, don't look at tiers to judge what makes something more useful. Things play different roles and so fit different teams.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    So you want something to highlight the differences between Gen IV and Gen V metagames? How about developing a comprehensive list for the many changes that occurred between past metagames, for a start? Not that many people play Gen I's mess of a metagame or anything, but it might be still useful. Mechanics wise, there actually is not much of a difference between Gen IV and Gen V metagame: all it is is a bunch of new moves, abilities and Pokemon... and the addition of Triples and Rotation battle, if that even counts. Then we can develop into the bigger "guide" or whatnot. Also that Know Your Pokemon thread is essentially a skeleton: it is not exactly what I had in mind, as it is pretty hard to read at this point. I plan on doing a complete revamp on it when we are finished with that segment.

    Yeah. Roasted ants ftw. Heatmor destroys Durant with a thrower anyhow, but yeah, it is just a lame Fire Pokemon with no real specialisation, just there to be the obligatory ant eater who eats the Durants, though Durant is much more useful and pretty much better. The only specialised destroyer of Durant would probably be Heatran or maybe a Flamethrower Weezing. You know you are not a very good Pokemon if you can get defeated by the very Pokemon you were supposed to defeat, even by severe type advantage. Not to mention how very forgettable of a Pokemon it is Now Durant is very scary: imagine those things crawling all around Unova. Just ONE is very powerful... and Trapinch, the other ant, prevents escape! [sprite]485[/sprite] Though, look at Heatmor's armour body: it looks like a Fire/Steel... and it could just become a non-legendary Fire/Steel. I think we now have a discussion going: how to improve Heatmor? For starters, give it Flame Charge! Why is it even denied that? I don't get it

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>Now if Regirock had a bigger HP stat it would be as bulky as Tyranitar specially. But, that mono Rock typing is arguably better defensively, but loses out resistances to Ghost, Dark, Psychic moves. Not that those are any threats anyways: at least it is not OHKOd by Rock Smash or something (I know Tyranitar does not either, but that was an exaggeration).</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    Durant would not beat Heatmor naturally. Just with aid of TM for Rock Slide and stuff. Fun fact: Heatmor is the only fire Pokemon I know of (there may be others) denied access to Flame Charge. I tried. I have no idea what kind of a role Heatmor is supposed to fill. I mean, I gave it HP Electric with Life Orb vs Gyarados... it OHKOs it. But Hidden Power is not even what I would consider a real attack. Heatmor could certainly use a secondary Dark typing or something... it learns a whole bunch of Dark moves. Skarmory walls just about any of these steels, ranging anywhere from Durant to Escavalier to Scizor.

    Crawdaunt and Whiscash also has Dragon Dance for some bizarre reason. Whiscash might be because of its association with the Namanzu... I don't know if it means it is a dragon, but whatever. I have no idea regarding Crawdaunt. I wouldn't object to EQ on Durant though. It seems plausible... but a little too strong then :3

    Tropius is a flying colourful banana version of this scary creature from the Congo jungles. I am interested in crypto-zoology, and I believe these are real. Yes, it is a modern dinosaur. Gamefreak even gave it Dragon Dance to show its relationship with dragons... Oh I know what WOULD also improve Tropius: NATURAL DRAGON DANCE or LEAF BLADE, so it can have BOTH in one moveset! > You and your bugs... Durant is already too scary... hate that Stone Edge of its. Giving it Earthquake = one dead Infernape, especially since that 1 extra base speed trolls on Infernape's. I can see Durant Earthquaking though... in groups. Unova must be scary with such killer ants. Imagine an army of those... that would be hard to deal with. I need a Heatmor around here!

    <p><p><p><p><p><p>100 physical Def isn't what is considered bad. It is just that horrid defensive typing... Ice needs more resistances, seriously! Then there is that overkill 200 special Def as well. Regice is too amazing: Zapdos doesn't stand a chance.</p></p></p></p></p></p>

    Too bad the only thing that even indicated a Pokemon's design at that point were the sprites. Official artworks did not come out until later, and most of them were just polished and bigger resolution version of their sprites, including their postures and all. I was quite disappointed. Tropius still needs better stats: its real life counterpart is so ferocious that no hippopotamus nor crocodiles dwell where they live. Its movepool is pretty good I think: it just needs bigger stats someplace. And perhaps give it Hurricane, though it does not show up in rain teams. But Volcarona has Hurricane as well and it does not usually use the rain team either... so lorewise, it is not a bad idea either.

    Uglymoth was a joke back then when BW was new: BW Pokemon looked so ugly from Serebii... I was going to yell so much. "This cannot be real!" I got over Volcarona's design now though: it looks pretty cool except I feel they could have done a bit better. But I am okay with this. You get Stunfisk by fishing? I did not know that. I just found one by stepping on a puddle. Ouch, must have been a shock for my character!
