I was not being sarcastic. It's just not your birthday yet. But another year older!

I think either of the legendary birds are generally better than Stallodactyl though, but it is possible. Why envious of Umbreon if its moves are bad? Is it the IVs or something?

I tried to correlate the Pokemon to some counterparts. However, it is not possible with just 200 Pokemon to select from the Hoenn Dex; therefore I had odd pairings. Therefore most of them necessarily do not correlate to any "counterparts".

Right now I am reordering the Pokedex, which means I can make the Pokemon more proper now with all 386, allowing Gastly line for Litwick line, etc, so MOST (but not all) make sense.

How Would You Improve Some Pokemon (Competitively)?

Eelektross does not make a replacement for Skarmbliss... ever You see, well, Gamefreak does NOT think in terms of competitiveness, just lore-wise, and so Mantine is the polar opposite to Skarmory. Competitive players, however, do not use it that way. Also, Mantine is not a bird nor does it fly in the bird-like sense (even though it is flying type), so Roost would not really work, I think. It "glides underwater", as that is what rays do. Even then, there are some Pokemon out there who would really like Roost, like Rayquaza or even Heracross! But no Air Slash Gamefreak? Really now? Alakazam actually had amazing punching prowess in the anime... seen it attacking Gary's Umbreon with Dynamicpunch? It was out of character for an Alakazam, but belonging to a rough pirate-like guy, I guess that is what he intended on doing. Giant arms... I was rather annoyed at how totally unfairly biased the Electabuzz/Magmar duo was when they gave Electabuzz Ice Punch and Magmar had nothing to compensate for that. And even when they evolved, Electivire got the superior ability... couldn't Magmortar at least get Flash Fire? Electric type favouritism I tell you... every time! So then Eelektross gets all elemental punches? I guess though, Eelektross was meant to be some uber powerful creature of some kind because it has a similar evolution kind to Beldum or Magikarp, but it just isn't. It has an already expansive movepool though, so I believe it is some sort of a dragon-esque creature? God forbid that day when it gets Ice Punch... *runs* I would at least think it has Surf, because it is an eel! What a strange fellow Eelektross is... Actually, God forbid the day Haxorus gets Fire Punch. Then I just quit!

No, actually in Pokemon <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/laugh.png" alt="xD" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/laugh@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> there was a battle CD where you had to use Aerodactyl to outstall a Kyogre. And with Pressure, it is actually possible, especially with that amazing speed. It takes some judicious usage of Substitute and Protect.. maybe with Roost, Toxic, and Taunt. There are many ways not unlike Articuno or Moltres in fact, just with less defences but more speed.

Yes I like those guys too. I mean, come on, Electrode and Banette needed an evo much more than their counterparts. It looks like GF supports the strong after all.

It was annoying, but I finished some of the legends and the starters, except for sprite inserting. THAT will be a pain >_<

I will now use the Hoenn Dex instead, and while some do not make sense, this is how it will be so far, since Hoenn Dex has around 200 Pokemon...

Rock would be a good defensive typing had it had more resistances... but its weaknesses are MUCH too common. A lot of Pokes want an evolution. Mightyena, Chimecho, Banette, Lumineon, etc...

I am hacking Ruby version now: GSC did not have enough resources to fully edit Pogeyz <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Finished up to Samurott. This will be easy, but it will take a long time. Also, I'm not good at inserting sprites with un-LZ GBA!!

I actually hacked Red to be harder... he has his HGSS roster with the levels and similar movesets. Still beat him though <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/mellow.png" alt=":|" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/mellow@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

He was a bit challenging though due to the 20 level gap.

Eh I am a bit unresponsive myself. Time conflicts I guess, but sure, I would like to see it sometime.

POKESAV (PikaSav) Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal Save Editor

I actually use this editor, and I must say it is very good. There is no other editors I have seen which can modify a Pokemon's DVs. However, the EXP and all have to be manually put in (this can help), and some of the other problems include the lack of editing for items of different pockets for GSC games (it will only edit the general pocket) and unlike Pokesav, there is no PKM files to save and import. The UI is okay but may get confusing especially when empty slots become the last Pokemon you have inserted into the box (you will see what I mean, though this is cancelled out by the "Amount of Pokemon" value). Other than that, it is the best sav editor for RBYGSC I have ever seen out there.

It still walls Water Pokemon very well... but that's about it. The only problem is that it is outclassed by Blissey, making people think Mantine is useless. Outclassed doesn't mean useless in absolute terms: people are always misled by that and all of a sudden think Feraligatr is bad because it is "outclassed" by Gyarados. Mhh. The one thing bringing it down is its 4x weakness... that and its low physical defence. Then there is that lack of Recovery... and they gave it a baby form of all things. I don't know if that thing can even punch

Tyranitar doesn't need sand to have ridiculous defences. It already has 100/110/100 defences. It was always able to survive Surfs... sand only made it better. Not enough? Sand only makes it better with 100/110/154, and it is its natural ability. How does that not count? Reliably recovery... since when were there any tankish Pokemon with reliable recovery anyways? Most of them really want it... but there's just not enough of them out there. Cofagrigus doesn't even have Pain Split... when it should either have that or Recover. Coffy is fine the way it is: making it Ghost/Steel adds more weaknesses, though it gains a lot of resistances. Ghost/Rock? No just no. I don't want it to succumb faster from the likes of Gyarados and Virizion.

30 minutes of Turbo mode and I'm already at Red. Defeated him with Lv. 62 Typhlosion, 61 Victreebel, and 59 Politoed. Broken game is broken.

My own personal experiment, not really to share with others at this point. I just want to at least hack something and call it a day... but... yeah I guess.

Yanmega would be horrible in Gen II. Lack of bug moves, no physical/special split... better off not even put in >_<

Maybe not so much Roost, as it is not a bird, but Recover, as aquatic creatures who recover their appendages or something. I don't know. Now I'm hoping the baby form Mantyke could have some move that could benefit its evolution form. ... Dream World is trolling: it learns Air Cutter, not Air Slash. UGH.

Yep, all of it... I may just have to switch to GSC due to the lack of Dark/Steel typing. But it will be JUST like OLD Pokemon: they will SUCK in terms of movepool and whatnot. Very much. I just want to experiment if I would actually feel it is all right or if the Pokemon are really out of it now? Because personally, I didn't like Gen IV Pokemon much, but Gen V Pokemon seemed out of place to me... but maybe my idea of Pokemon is skewed or something? I have no idea. Either way... this is where I'll be headed.

This also means Gym Leaders and E4 need replacements too. Mmmm...

I don't think I'll overhaul the whole game: just minor changings, such as wild Pokemon locations and stuff. But now that I'm using GSC, that means... some old Pokes need to stay! (251 - 156 = 95 stays)

Strength is dependent from IVs. It ranges from 30-70. 0/0/0/0/0/0 results to HP Fighting 30, 31/31/31/31/31/31 results to HP Dark 70.

Watching your thing... so far your opponent is playing quite poorly!

Also, Eelektross may not be a physical attacker, but its not that defensive either. STAB Foul Play is still 95 * 1.5, so that looks about right.

Definitely hard to get the proper IVs in game. I don't know how everyone else does it "without cheating". It's okay in simulators, but in real-game... I get really suspicious if they ALL happen to have the hidden power they could get.

Finding which Pokemon to replace for each Gen V Pokemon in Gen I is tough! Not to mention, I have to cut out Pokemon from Kyurem to Genesect if I want them to fit. I may just do GSC or something, but that might be tough as well. Want to see what I have so far?

One time you're like "I need Grass Knot" and now you need an Ice move. Good grief. Hidden Power Ice is the way to go then, if you feel like it.

Great battle, though I feel like you could have Taunted that Miltank sometime around so it could succumb to Toxic and not use Heal Bell or Toxic Miltank. Wait hold on... you don't run Taunt on that Umbreon right? I got confused for yours with SilentFox's because I suggested a Wish/Heal Bell/Toxic/Taunt version for his.

Yeah I know what you mean. I get so paranoid of the speed I always run Speed Boost.

Some interesting discussions on GameFAQs. I still don't like many of the Gen V Pokes <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/wacko.png" alt=":S" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/wacko@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Some of them grew up on me... but eep. I don't know anymore. I do look objectively and see Gen I Pokemon are indeed actually quite simple. But maybe that simplicity is what makes me like them. I have no idea why Gen V Pokemon seemed out of place. Therefore, I will do some experiment: replace Gen I Pokemon in Pokemon Yellow or something with Gen V Pokemon (albeit Gen I movesets). This will be tough, considering some things are part "Steel" or "Dark", two types that have not been invented, and so here I go!

Eeep. Long time ago I made it to Lance... with a Level 72 Dugtrio and everybody else were really low levels. Needless to say, I failed. Also, I thought Aerodactyl was immune to Thunder, so I never tried that with my Pikachu. It really destroyed me in the end... me and my noobiness

Max DV code for Pokemon in party?

Ewww. 7 months no reply. Oh well... Better late than never. I'm still looking for these codes... and I know it was possible because I did this 5 years ago when my cheater of a friend did the same thing battling me... 01FFF4DC 01FFF5DC That code changes the first Pokemon to max DVs for Pokemon Crystal... I think. Let me test this first. EDIT: Yes, it works. My female Dratini turned male and had very balanced stats as if it were maximum. Due to the sexist nature of the DVs during this gen (not complaining... I like it), that is how the gender transformed!

... wow. Useless TM in even Gen II games! TM40 has Defence Curl... well fine. At least it can pair with TM04 (Rollout), but still... I don't know if I'd want to teach anything this.

... now defeated E4, with only Politoed Lv. 52 (Rain Dance/Body Slam/Ice Punch/Surf), Typhlosion Lv. 50 (Quick Attack/Thunderpunch/Smokescreen/Flame Wheel), and Victreebel Lv. 48 (Sleep Powder that ALWAYS misses/Razor Leaf/Growth/Acid). Though in this game the level curve seems fine... but I've had so much trouble with HGSS. I wonder why.
