^--- that's me and the underpowered... and Articuno, and many others that are underpowered. I just like some Pokemon for reasons that isn't competitive.

Yeah, I know. I don't doubt DPP is the best competitive game and it opened the way for people to battle in Wifi. In fact, I had fun with it, but it just killed Pokemon for some reason. I don't know what it is. Despite the fact the characters had personalities, despite the fact many Pokemon were accessible in Platinum, despite all its enhancements... I don't know, something made it suck badly. And it's not just the music. And realise that it was this game that bumped up the power creep with its ultimately competitive Pokemon, but it evolved many old Pokemon to catch up.

BW had good story: but it was too different from the other Pokemon games. I know something's up... but I don't know what it is. Gonna wait on a 649 FR ROM patch to be done so I can start hacking and make my own... though I dislike Pokemon.

I won't even say it's "really good" in simulators: it only fills up what some Pokemon are lacking, such as Electrics who usually have nothing but electric moves... or Lilligant who literally only has Grass moves that are usable. If only Sleep Powder + Dream Eater was actually viable... -___-

Rampardos was only their "prototype" design I guess: moving on, as they say. And what's the big deal with denying Rock head to the Pokemon that actually has a Rock Head? At least Head Smash would save itself from OHKO from Blissey (yes, just using that move is akin to using Selfdestruct on Blissey) <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Power creep is going to destroy this game. But BW already destroyed the game in my eyes... actually, I think DPP did. It kept the franchise going all right, but... ugh.

Natural Superpower on Azumarill. Joy.

Also, charge up Ice moves are trolling. How are you supposed to use that?

Cannot run Hidden Power in-game. Of all the Hidden Powers I ended up with 63 Ghost -___-

But yeah, competitively, HP Fighting. I hate offensive beasts in this gen. Everything really does hit too hard: I'm afraid of what Gen VI will bring.

I don't think Gamefreak was thinking competitively when they make Pokemon like these. And I wouldn't want another Scizor. Ooh noo... not with that monster.

Then we wait until Gen VI... you will have a infinity plus 1 monster with Explosion who will never hurt itself from it. Dragon typed Explosion. Halves Defence. No one but Steels resist and it also gets a Fire type explosion for that too. And its ability has another effect: which is mold breaker-esque so Heatran doesn't wall this. And it will look very puny like Solosis.

That lack of recovery was the biggest thing holding it down. It is still lacking in the offensive movepool, however.

Wonder if Cryogonal can fit in a sun team and Solarbeam everything off .__.

Drill Run's distribution is so disappointing, I won't even talk about it. And Escavalier is trolled: mega trolled. Not even Superpower.

Check it out, Giga Drain Heatmor... but still no real role to fulfill. Giga Drain Volcarona is going to mess up most Rocks/Waters who think they can switch in.

Yeah honestly, people don't know where to stop with the standards. Zapdos lol: it's too much, they need to buff the other two. Articuno with an exclusive boosting move and some water attacks, Moltres with some physical moves and maybe one electric attack (maybe Wild Charge)... or something. Moltres is good enough, but that 100 attack is wasted.

Lol I know that about Heracross, but it doesn't get Roost and Dunsparce does makes me go "wut"?

Yeah, Earth Power that Skarmory, you'll surely hit him (though Ice Beam should hurt enough). No physical Ice on Black Kyurem, but it doesn't need that, especially with that scary Outrage.

Play with Cofagrigus: it's going to kill now with Pain Split or Resttalk.

The problem with that is, many other Fires already are better in the special department and actually has speed and a better movepool to abuse, leaving Flareon with little to claim usage over them. You have to understand most people are trying to find a way to salvage Flareon to make it seem decently usable. In absolute terms, it has a role, but a Fire type with little speed and no physical defence to speak of is begging to be OHKOd by most of the metagame. It is usable though when you realise 110 SpDef goes a long way for it to survive some non-invested Surfs and has access to Wish, and that Superpower with Guts (now that it is allowed) helps for its wallbreaking capabilities, but it seems rather unfair that the amazing 130 Attack power has no physical STAB to abuse properly with but can only utilise Superpower, Return, Iron Tail, Fire Fang, Bite... At this point, it is begging for Flare Blitz, since it is the next best option, or until it exists, a more moderate 80-90 base power physical Fire attack. Yes, 95 SpA isn't terrible: in fact, people forget Tyranitar has 95 SpA and still OHKOs Gliscor with Ice Beam, but it needs to be something other than a poor man's Entei, and that's BAD in competitive terms when you realise Entei is a poor version of Arcanine (what is with Gamefreak and "weaker than mundane creature" legendaries?). Only reason I use it is because I just like it and net a surprise kill on Tyranitar. (lol I want Zap Cannon on Flareon back) I'm starting to think Gamefreak has some issues with Fire types, or actually Ice types, or both. Just look at that disparity between Electivire and Magmortar: just how is that fair? Updated with forms section.

I'm sorry, but Fire Fang does not cut it. Though I'm satisfied enough with running Fire Blast since most Steels hate the special side as opposed to the physical. One flaw with some competitive people is that they believe 95 SpA is inadequate. It's mighty high to me *shrugs* Scarf it and it'll at least KO someone with it. Either way it is already getting revenged: what's worse than using Fire Fang only to get hit harder than what Flare Blitz's recoil would have done anyhow? Infernape has the fragile problem and doesn't mind running Flare Blitz. I suppose it can still use a physical Fire move that doesn't require recoil... maybe a new "Flame Tail" or something that's akin to Aqua Tail, idk. It's understandable why it cannot Fire Punch, but there needs to be some new physical Fire move for things like Flareon. People only say Flare Blitz because it is the only Fire move that makes sense for it to learn, but still denied.

Articuno and Dragonite... Y U NO GET HEAL BELL?!! Is Gamefreak really doing this again? -____- Escavalier gets nothing interesting, not even Superpower. Are they serious? At least Klinklang gets Wild Charge, meaning Shift Gear + Return/Gear Grind/Wild Charge is viable. Foul Play Mandibuzz and Umbreon ---> all of my yes I do not like the distribution of Drill Run. It would have been useful on many others, some birds even. But no, it's given to many Pokemon who already learn the superior Earthquake or with low attack power. At least give it to Escavalier or things that look like it remotely can use it! Monsters who learn it: Also, Thick Fat Swinub is on DW, meaning we don't have to deal with an Ice Shard-less Thick Fat Mamoswine anymore! Talk about non-parity: No Fire Punch on Reshiram... meh not like it will ever find a use for it, but still... it looks awkward. Oh one more thing... why in bloody tarnations does Heatmor not learn Flame Charge? It's the only Fire Pokemon that has this property, I think.

Reshiram/Zekrom/Kyurem get Roost. Kyurem also gets Earth Power, meaning it doesn't have to run Focus Blast to shatter Steels. And levitating ones can be taken down by Fusion Flare for White Kyurem or HP Fire for others.

The problem is, Throh is already good: nothing's wrong with that guy. Same with Durant: he's overpowered like many other weirdos that were introduced in Gen V. Articuno really needs to pull its weight despite being a legendary Pokemon: too many things happened to the poor guy people of course would not really believe that it is any good (even I don't but I really do suspect Hurricane as a secondary STAB helps a lot).

... what the heck. Haxorus is unwallable now they say >___<

You... have the same exact symptom I do. This along with some other friends I have as well. I guess it's just First World Problems... where it makes people afraid of each other: no one talks to each other on the subways anymore and whatnot.

Then start drawing, writing, or something. Even knitting/cooking/etc. We are losing basic skills by relying TOO much on technology (not saying technology is bad).But I mean you can take some walk outside instead of being sedentary. You don't even need 9001 friends like those jocks at school: the amount of friends you have should be countable by your fingers. CLOSE friends. But even so, being so secluded is never good for anyone. It's only because the punches are lolworthy while Flamethrower/Thunderbolt are much more reliable... well against anything not named Blissey or Regice.

That was Machamp in Gen IV. What the heck Conkeldurr?!!!

I seriously think people are underestimating Articuno. Despite its awful typing, STAB Hurricane coming off of 95 SpA (how is that low by any means???), which is only 5 points off Dragonite's, is still going to hurt. 85 Speed is faster than Dragonite, and its overall bulk is better. Defensively though, that typing does suck and SR totally eats its face off. Honestly people, use your senses! Sub/Ice Beam/Hurricane/Roost set can do well, though most Dragonites run a + Max SpA EV spread which means its Hurricane eats stuff, especially with LO. Articuno can differentiate somehow with STAB Ice Beam, better defences... maybe we can come up with a good EV spread for this.

Glad to be of help. I don't have anything much to say: you should get off the Internet / Video Games / etc for some time though: enjoy the sun or something. Our generation is pretty much in ruins: there needs to be more people to set against the destructive wave that is washing us into the drain.

It gains Elemental Punches? Wow I knew that'd happen... it's very versatile... even more so than before. But specially based versions are better: physical moves without STAB in general are kind of weak, despite the metagame being predominantly physical.

Counter? You wish: good luck switching into that Stone Edge. Yanmega's anything BUT a counter.

Wait until a Flare Blitz tutor comes: Haxorus, Leafeon and Durant will learn it but Flareon still won't. That's when I'll call quits.

Also, this is the truth in real life: people higher up are not always happy: they even despise the emptiness and hollowness of their life. The poor always aspire to be one of the highers... but why?

Like how kids want to grow up so quickly... I never did. I never wanted to: it felt imposed on me. I'd love to experience childhood again. Same deal: enjoy what you have so far, and you won't regret it in the end.

Lol no believe me you wouldn't. This place isn't all that great anyhow. Besides, it's extra responsibility. You honestly think getting some position is a good thing? I have to clean up other people's trash, fix up things, delete stuff (especially bot spam), infract people, ban bot or deal with inquiries... not always pretty and isn't always fun.

Well I was actually new when this place started to move from pokesav.org... somehow they took a liking of me and made me a local mod of 4th Gen, then combined with Off Topic, and some summer later, a Global Mod.

Also, this is just a Pokemon forums for crying out loud <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/laugh.png" alt="xD" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/laugh@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

There are bigger and more important places you may just be called for... in real life perhaps. Don't give up: you are meant for something... you'll do something, just have a direction and a vision, and you can endure all struggles that come because you have a vision.

Now you just have to worry about Ice Punch Conkeldurr... ugh.

Gen IV: all starters learned Grass move (Grass Knot)

Gen V: all starters learned Water move (Scald for Emboar, Aqua Tail for Serperior, Samurott has a plethora for obvious reasons)

I wonder if Gen VI will have all starters with Fire moves. If not, then >_>
