Emerald Hoenn Dex Diploma... now I can get the Johto starters (just one >_>) and be on my way!

BTW I found a patch that actually split the physical/special of Emerald, so I played around with it. It's so interesting... I changed around the E4 too to see how this is working. I also changed the moves to match Gen V's mode. They got scary... and I couldn't help but add some non-Hoenn Pokemon in their rosters (for my own entertainment only). I don't like it when a specialist uses Dusclops/Banette/Sableye/Banette/Dusclops or Glalie/Sealeo/Glalie/Sealeo/Walrein. <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Gyarados's Waterfall actually works with Dragon Dance, Shadow Ball from Gengar is amazing... it's so exciting! Then I realised where I failed: my Timid Sceptile's DRAGON CLAW/THUNDERPUNCH/EARTHQUAKE/LEAF BLADE set is now 100% physical as opposed to 25%..

Looking forward to your project then. I will be gone for next week, by the way. Not that you'd notice because I'm always away.

Completed Kanto Dex get! (Leaf Green)

Must do this for Fire Red now... and finish Emerald's dex in its entirety too. I know I'm a loser.

While that I'm completing Kirby Amazing Mirror... and I do this in 2 hours of game time, because I hardly play anymore.

My friend used to tell me the same thing: don't switch out because it's cheap.

The Bulk Up versions run Careful nature with 252 HP/252 SpDef. That is what they do... Air Slash is probably 2HKO then. Dragon Dance versions I guess still exist, but the Bulk Up version causes more problems against most things.

Yeah people are idiots. They just love stupid things like this. What can I do?

Heracross is a better counter as it resists both STAB: what happens if that Scrafty uses something like Stone Edge? X(

But yes, as you can see, there are ways to defeat Scrafty. It doesn't cause much problems in UU. But tiers are determined by usage: Donphan and Tentacruel do not cause much problems in the lower tiers at all, but it is at OU because they are overused.

Druddigon is a Gargoyle (albeit badly drawn): it should SO be a Rock Pokemon.

Oooh so he's one of dem noobs.

Scrafty should be UU: it's only powerful if it sets up, but it can get manhandled by hard attacks because of its low HP. Vanilluxe isn't awful, but they messed up with its movepool and trolled with its 79 base speed. Autotomize can fix that for the most part, but it needs some other moves. It is decently powerful and can survive Azelf's Flamethrower, however (I use it).

Eh, Haxorus is a "minor dragon" too and look where it is at. Honestly, why is it so hard to just maintain the norms with the stats?

Golem is great. And so is Rhyperior (yes Rhyperior is objectively superior though). If your dunderheaded friend cannot get that, then tell him to shove a lead upside his head! Both were indispensable OUs back in the old generations. If BST is all that important, tell me why Dusclops turned OU in Gen III and why Pidgeot was NU. Why is Vanilluxe NU when its base stat total is the same as Lapras's (it really is!). Why does Articuno suck? Then you have idiots like Scrafty and Ferrothorn with low BST as OU. Why is that? Asides from perfect stat distribution, there are many other factors.

(look up their BST if you want to know)

Sandslash differentiates from Donphan in many ways. In fact, they improved on his speed subtlely via Sand Rush, as it was supposed to be one of the faster Ground Pokemon. An evolution stage wouldn't hurt: that also means Sandslash can Eviolite as well. It should be able to Spike too. But then, they made Excadrill... >___>

BST? Somewhat. It's also their movepool and such. Even Rhydon alone was deemed superior to Golem, except Golem is faster, and it can defeat Rhydon one on one. That hasn't changed with Rhyperior either as Rhyperior's speed is the same. Though Rhyperior has Solid Rock, meaning Golem can struggle. Golem can do two things Rhy(don/perior) cannot do: Explode and Sucker Punch, making it a better lead. However, this is Gen V, meaning Explosion got worse, and lead game does not exist. However, it gained a better Sturdy ability, which somewhat makes up for that.

Donphan may look superior (and it usually is), but Sandslash is faster, has Swords Dance, and Dream World version has Sand Rush, making it interesting. It can also destroy most spinblockers, something Donphan may struggle to do without the I-take-up-an-extra-moveslot Assurance. Slash should learn Spikes <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Generalisations are unavoidable, unfortunately, but still logical.

My interest has always been null and void lol. I just happen to know how to play, but not really interested anymore. A lot of it has to do with the power creep, but what can I say?

That's good to hear. I've been better recently as well, even to the point where I think there might be hope for me. I still don't know what to do, but I'm moving on.

I'm Korean, so I saw a lot of Korean dramas, particularly the historical ones. If you ever have time, you could search for "Immortal Admiral Yi Soon Shin", a drama based off one of our national hero, who defeated the Japanese in the Imjin War (1592-1598). The drama does emphasise on humanity and how unfair things can get, but in the end, justice does pay off. There are versions with English subtitles for international viewers. That is, if you are interested.

To me, though, it is clear that Joseon dynasty's most vile enemy were not the evil Japanese nor the illustrious Ming Dynasty China (or the Manchurian Qing Dynasty that came afterwards), but it was their own divided politics. Inner divisions really messed up Joseon and it also isolated the nation. History books overlook that period where Toyotomi Hideyoshi tried to conquer Korea, but rest assured, it was one of the biggest wars of history. Green version's Fearow is so much better than Blue's. What in the world is Blue version's Fearow supposed to be anyways? Also, some sprites are much bigger or smaller than they're supposed to be. But I like it this way: old degenerative sprites that are ferocious.

Sandslash is good. A little too weak if no Attack is invested, however. But this can be mitigated with Swords Dance... somewhat.

Yes it has been done a lot. Most protagonists are somewhat balanced, unless they're meant to be some sort of a parody. Try looking at other stories to see some character archetypes. Books are good resources, and I like Charles Dickens stories and such, for example. Rich with characters and influences.

Sprites are horrid. Lol @ the Jynx-esque Meditite/Medicham.

I used Golurk a lot: he is pretty strong, but requires some sort of a set up, particularly Substitute, while forcing a switch, in order to be effective. Klutz is lorewise I suppose: competitive aspect is not what the designers in Gamefreak have in mind in terms of priority.

In that case, think about assigning certain roles to certain people. Engineers... why are they smart? Otherwise they couldn't do engineering. But if they ever break it, sometimes it is because they are doing the wrong thing, even though they're better at another niche, and will slowly move onto that later, if you know what I mean. Also, the strong mechanic idea has been done a lot: it is not much of a problem actually. Either form of extremes is a big turn-off though: doing bread-and-butter super nerdy engineer with little strength and role being exaggerated (unless it is a parody) is a turn off.

I think Fox was exaggerating. I have no clue what rank he is in, but he should be well above the 1000s, I'm certain.

Scald looks powerful with base 80, but in reality it isn't. Of course it would survive. But like nearly anything 2HKOs Golurk, even though it looks bulky. I mean, I had max HP on that thing. I don't even have to wonder why it's below UU.

That always depends. The big guy is "always" likeable in these storylines, or turns out to be the big brute with a big heart. Either way, stereotypes work, and there is no stopping it. If you want to go against it, then it has to be really convincing or it simply does not work. You heard me ladies, back to the kitchen y'all! I kid.

Of course, it works the other way where going super stereotype makes everything boring. One starts with the stereotype base and works on it, embellishes it, and produce a better story that way.

Empoleon survives non-STAB EQs with plenty to spare, but STAB EQs are different story. Yeah, that's a big problem regarding Golurk, who just happens to get KOd from anything I send it into, and yet it survives Water moves from Empoleon? Makes no sense right? Getting the EVs adjusted are the hardest part: I think I put too much into defence. I mean, no one runs Kingdra anymore so I don't have to survive a + 1 LO Outrage twice with Leftovers anymore w/ SR, right? >__<

This is why stereotypes cannot be evaded. Because they're very real: how can you expect a big guy not to have his quirks? Sometimes it's better to have it that way: it may be cliche, but at least it makes sense than a bikini-clad woman single-handedly defeating 1001 bad guys in a swordfight!

Occult... well, yeah, don't ask. It's another way of me saying "Pokemon is from hell". Frankly, I knew it already, but it hasn't affected me like that until now. I'm one of those spiritual people: it would affect me.

Must be really low damage roll on my part. Or you're fighting the right Pokemon. I don't know... you see, I don't consider the ability to OHKO Rhyperior "okay" because they normally do that. But like, some other key targets hit much harder. Or the fact Grass Knot doesn't OHKO, you lose speed tie to Swampert, it 2HKOs with Earthquake. Or you put in those 4 Speed EVs just to outpace opposing Swamperts, but still lose because somehow the other guy knew and had 8 Speed EVs. Ugh, I hate this metagame.

I love stereotypes. To state that it's impossible to have it is a lie... what the heck do the P.C. western people want?!

I had Roar over Knock Off, but whatever works. I used an old EV set where it had some Special Def EVs, but I forgot what spread it was. Seriously though, Scald is so weak, I didn't even think that was possible with STAB and Empoleon's great SpA. Grass Knot wouldn't OHKO Swampert: it chipped off like 60%ish. Not even joking here.

Sometimes Rarity is so egotistic. Other times, she's just fabulous. Who would have known? But she's an overexaggerated eccentric character. Still classic. Only one really "human" is Applejack imo.

I don't even think you'd find stuff like (regarding Pokemon occult) that if you looked it up, pretty much like you cannot find much negative press for MLP. (I say much, because there are some fringe out there, but for the wrong reasons). But you wouldn't understand even if I told you. I don't like having nightmares <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sad.png" alt=":(" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sad@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />
