29 May 1630, birthday of HM Charles II, the son of the ill-fated Charles I of England of the House of Stuart, who was executed by Oliver Cromwell and his Commonwealth goons. Charles II was then exiled but was restored as king once Cromwell departed this world.

29 May 1917, birthday of the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy. The Kennedy family was known to have many deaths, by assassination or from "accidents". He was assassinated in 22 November, 1963.

29 May 1864, arrival of Emperor Maximilian I and Empress Carlota to Mexico, to bring stability and unification to Mexico. If the Second Mexican Empire had lived on, Mexico would have flourished. But no, it was not meant to be. The sad story of Maximilian of Mexico is why Mexico is in a rubbish state today. I will discuss his tragic fate later, as Maximilian and his archenemy Benito Juarez are both misinterpreted by historians... such is history when it is written by winners. I really do not have enough bad things to say about Juarez...

Flying Pokemon?

Problem is, some people don't have access to DW. Also, I don't like arguing semantics but what in the world is that? (the thing I bolded... read it again). If you meant a non-bird Flying Pokemon or a non-Flying bird Pokemon, there are plenty, such as Tornadus and Gyarados, or in latter case, Torchic or Empoleon.

HAX is my enemy! If you know me enough then the above statement will actually make sense. But don't worry about it for now. I'm sure "meddling kid" is a reference from Scooby Doo, or so I believe. Either way, welcome to Project Pokemon and enjoy your stay. I was rather freaked out about Haxorus in the early days of BW metagame. I thought it looked cool but it was the perfect example of "power creep". Now everyone thinks it's overrated. What a shame. Nonetheless, you have got good tastes there. Haxorus is pretty awesome.

Just one question... is this for competitive or in-game? If it is for in-game, just click on the link Alpha provided. Otherwise, competitive is a different issue and... that wholly depends on one's team and how they are going to use the Pokemon, so I cannot really explain that in one post. But I'm going to assume you meant in-game, so just follow the link above.

And yes, you read my mind, Magnezone works very good with this guy. Reason being... Ferrothorn and Skarmory and such laugh at this 1000 times over. You might want EQ for Heatran though, especially after the SD, it shouldn't live through that. Getting rid of steels like Ferrothorn or Skarmory will definitely help Sceptile out. Just do it if you feel like it. Scizor's another big threat <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sleep.png" alt="-_-" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sleep@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I like how at 0 Speed EVs/31 IVs/positive nature, I can outpace max speed Excadrill. That's kinda funny... 302 vs 303.

The main reason this guy works is because he has really high speed. In fact, I think I'd recommend HP Ice on this guy much over Focus Blast. Maybe Earthquake over Acrobatics. There are bigger threats than the steels, and you have others to take the steels down. Just make sure their bulky water is spamming Surfs and you're good to go.

Lucario has a harder time working now. I got it to work in Gen IV at many times, but it's just that middling speed (and I can't believe I called 90 speed middling)...

Well, I suppose since you're hax immune you can try Sceptile out. I mean, okay, it's stronger than Venusaur and it's faster than Venusaur and has more moves than Venusaur... it should certainly be more threatening than Venusaur. But it's not? What the heck? I think we just didn't try hard enough. Use it to your heart's content. I tried this yesterday on PO's server... worked quite better than I expected. Managed to pull off a 3-4 Pokemon sweep with it. It's not bad at all. If you're full of electric lures, run cell battery. Otherwise, water is much more common, so absorb bulb works better.

There's also other options such as HP Ice (I would rather use this actually) or even STAB Leaf Blade or some other physical moves. Unfortunately, Dragon Pulse is NOT available due to troll TM system.

Hax? Nah screw that, it never works. Why bother when Sawsbuck can, I don't know, Subseed? Remember me trying to hax you? FAILED BADLY, only allowed you to set up on me with impunity.

Neither of them are bulky enough to utilise Roar even if they could anyways. BTW Stantler can Roar Sawsbuck cannot.

Only thing Stantler has over Sawsbuck is a large large movepool. That's about all. But Sawsbuck pretty much messed it up badly.

Exactly. The Sceptile's a late game thingamajic, because you're not planning on switching him out anytime soon. If you do, you lose momentum and the whole point behind Sceptile. But the calculations made me cry <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sleep.png" alt="-_-" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sleep@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Oh. Check this out. I think I found a niche for Unburden Sceptile, a mixed sweeper!

Blade (Sceptile) (M) @ Absorb Bulb

Trait: Unburden

EVs: 100 HP / 180 Atk / 228 SAtk

Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)

- Swords Dance

- Acrobatics

- Focus Blast

- Giga Drain

Switch into a Water move, gain +1 SpA with it, + 2 Speed with Unburden, and if you can force a switch, use SD to get the Attack boost. With this, you troll over Jolly Excadrill in the sand by 2 points, and Focus Blast can hurt Ferrothorn badly while Giga Drain is STAB move of choice. Acrobatics + SD + no item = ow ow ow. Bye bye Conkeldurr!

100 HP survives CB Bullet Punch from Scizor, if I did the calcs right. Though, physical Sceptile is pretty weak, and you have to be sure you're not switching out once you get this out in the field. Skarm eats it alive. I figure Sceptile is resistant to water or elec, so why not use a makeshift pinch berry if they're not here? Absorb Bulb is better b/c there are moar waters.

And I'm STILL struggling to find Stantler's role over Sawsbuck. I think there isn't any and that Sawsbuck was made just to make Stantler look bad. <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Only thing Stantler has is higher Special Attack, movepool, and access to Hypnosis because it is a deer that supposedly puts you on drugs. And Sawsbuck has seasonal changes to troll all over it. U mad?

Now I'm gonna look at Girafarig, the other forgettable Normal type critter of Gen II. These two were "just there" <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

And it's not even competitively, even concept-wise, it seems Stantler has nothing to offer over Sawsbuck. This is annoying...

My whole idea wasn't about Blaziken's overcentralisation but rather that it did have counters, much like Garchomp and the likes. The only question for me is if having 1 or 2 obscure counters makes you uber automatically because no one uses it. In that case, Breloom for ubers because Hypno is its best count-*looks at Skarmory and the rest* ah fine >_>

And as I said before, Slowbro is being used a LOT these days. But yes, Speed Boost Blaziken is scary though... that's just too broken, not questioning that. Especially because NOT EVERYONE runs stuff like that, and stuff like Tentacruel who resists Fighting still takes a good 79-91% from a HJK (was it? I forgot but the numbers were high).

Someone from Smogon argued if you have Spiritomb to counter Reuniclus it's a dead weight for the rest of the battle because of the power creep, hence uber Reuniclus. What? Does that argument hold any credence? I don't believe Spiritomb is a dead weight at all <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />
