  1. What, you mean Smea isn't obligated by international law to help everyone troubleshoot their homebrew setups? What a fraud. Kappa.
  2. That's very strange, then. I have no idea what's causing your Homebrew Launcher to not display SMDH shortcuts. Maybe ask Smealum about it on Twitter. ... That's the SMDH launcher for the game. For some reason it's not showing up for you, which is why we renamed your files for regular Hans launch in the first place. If you figure out how to fix the icon not showing up, you will have to rename your .code and .romfs files back to rruby or ssapphire to be able to launch from the icon.
  3. Out of curiosity, does the "eshop" icon appear for you on the homebrew launcher menu?
  4. Are you using a modified homebrew launcher like the "tiled icons" one? Those can't read SMDH shortcuts yet. If you're using one of those, go into SD:/hans and rename the romfs and code files rruby.code > 0011C400.code rruby.romfs > 0011C400.romfs ssapphire.code > 0011C500.code ssapphire.romfs > 0011C500.romfs Then boot up Hans, point it at your pokemon game, and put code > sd and romfs > sd both on If Hans isn't there then the reason you're not seeing anything is because you're using the old homebrew launcher, get the starter.zip from Smealum's website and copy that to your SD letting it overwrite stuff
  5. Go into your 3DS SD card's /3ds/ folder, does that have the rutile ruby/star sapphire SMDH and XML files?
  6. Did you copy the contents of the HansPack folder to the ROOT of your SD card?
  7. Thank you very much, that's what I was going for. My playtesters were able to beat the game without ever being significantly overleveled (one to two levels above opponents, tops) and without ever grinding, so that's what I balanced for.
  8. This is intended. Honey replaces the first Mart that only sells Potions, but once you get the Pokédex it's replaced with Potions, Pokéballs, and Full Heals. I can't "add" items to the shop list, only replace them, so Honey comes back after you get 2 badges.
  9. Please don't follow these instructions. Booting the game this way means that changes in code.bin will not be applied. Use the launcher as outlined in the OP. If you're running it through hans without the special launcher, then find the ssapphire.code file and rename it to 0011C500.code so you get the whole rom hack. Alternatively, just rename 0011C500.romfs to ssapphire.romfs and use the launcher. VIDEO TUTORIAL. Covers everything from Braindump to where to put files. [video=youtube;KuotPqppL0M]
  10. Try opening HANS then clicking Exit. If that doesn't make the other Homebrew Launcher stuff show up, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe try re-copying the Homebrew Starter.zip? I was just PM'd that I can't distribute a pre-made drag-and-drop package, but I'm working on a video tutorial right now.
  11. The obvious thing is that you named it "ssapphire.bin" when it should be "ssapphire.romfs". Don't name it 0011C500, I have a launcher specifically for Star Sapphire that will load the files with the proper settings. If that's not showing up, you put the files StarSapphire.smdh and StarSapphire.xml in the wrong place. They should be in sd:/3ds right next to the eshop smdh. Finally, I didn't see any step where you actually decompile the romfs and put the hack files into it. If you did what I just said without decompressing the romfs and overwriting the files, you'd get the item changes but nothing else. Moderators, it wouldn't be okay for me to distribute modified *.romFS files (with the first 1000 bytes stripped), would it? Those files would only be usable with Hans (and thus require a retail copy of the game), since you need those 1000 bytes to recompile a ROM for piracy purposes. It would be really nice if I could distribute RR/SS as a "drag and drop" package.
  12. OP has been updated to include a Hans install method, updated .zip files are live.
  13. I'll be uploading this in a *hax 2.5 compatible version today and updating the OP with install instructions.
  14. If you're trying to do that to my ROM hack, don't bother. It's already set at high-to-max AI for all the important battles, and only a couple fights have (intentionally) low to mid AI.
  15. I'd love to see a release of this without any of the base stat modifications or retypings/new abilities.
  16. Try a newer version of PK3DS. Edwin's (rematch) data loads fine in my PK3DS. I don't know if new versions have fixed this, but previously I couldn't export my trainer battle list to text either. Something about the fact that I'd added so much data (full movesets, items, more pokemon per trainer, lots of stuff the base game didn't have) just made it fail.
  17. Yes, changing the base typing of Pokémon is possible for 3DS hacking with the tool I used to create my ROM hacks (pk3DS). I chose not to include these changes in my ROM hacks because I wanted to make a "challenge mode" for players who know their way around the series and I didn't want to rely on cheap tricks like "Oh, you thought Flamethrower would be super-effective against Serperior? Sorry, it's Grass/Dragon now and also has Draco Meteor".
  18. Are you planning on releasing a randomizer / pre-randomized patches for ? Would be interesting, especially with randomized Shadow moves. I've been hoping for a randomizer for Colosseum for quite a while now, thank you so much for doing the research necessary to figure it out!
  19. Finally updated the install method in the OP to use 3DS Builder instead of a batch file. I'm not sure what's going on with your install. It could be because you're using the EUR ROM, but that seems unlikely based on which files are being replaced.
  20. I'll get a new guide for installing with 3DS Builder up soon. The icon won't properly change if you've ever played Alpha Sapphire on that 3DS due to the cache though, even if you apply it correctly. My gateway 3ds has the normal Alpha Sapphire icon for Star Sapphire, but Rutile Ruby displays the custom icon just fine.
  21. That's... a little overkill for a fight with six pokemon in the high teens, don't you think? Unless you were only using your Blaziken, in which case your strategy won't work very well throughout the rest of the game. I just released Version 1.1, which fixes evolutions for Clamperl, Electabuzz, Graveler, Kadabra, Karrablast, Machoke, Magmar, Onix, Poliwhirl, Rhydon, Scyther, Seadra, Shelmet, Slowpoke, Spritzee, and Swirlix. Turns out the "Level Up while holding Item (Male/Female)" option just doesn't work, but the "Level Up while holding Item (Day/Night)" one works just fine. Also, I just forgot to attach a note about Boldore, it evolves to Gigalith at Lv42.
  22. It should still evolve through trade, if you have a friend or a second 3DS. Also since you're using a Gateway, you can install SaveDataFiler and extract your game save then just change the species in PKHeX... I'm more concerned with why it isn't evolving in the first place.
  23. Hmm, it's scripted in the game files to evolve when leveled up holding a metal coat while being male or female (those and time-sensitive options are the only way to make something evolve holding an item)... Did you maybe forget to uninstall game updates? Are you playing Ruby or Sapphire?
