  1. Right, It is now being developed in Essentials, which means i'll be moving the thread soon. I never released the rom version, mostly because I spent most of my time in development trying to make things work. The new system should still be compatible with existing games in the form of exporting pokemon. I'm working on a method of writing a file for a given pokemon in a box either in a rom, save file, or pokeGen/PkHex and allowing them to move to and fro both games. Obviously, they will be existing ones only, but that's not to say there won't be a benefit to getting pokémon in this new game and bringing them over. As for the BW2 rom, I can't write a patch for it, due to changing file locations and sizes throughout development, so I can't distribute it. A Demo should be coming soon, but I'm trying to figure out some logistics for planning beta releases and general mechanics first. Also, I'm Reworking the title and a bit of other things about the project, but in essence, the main goal and play should be same just better executed. On another tangent, I want to reveal the starters, but I'm still trying to design the fire starter. If you all have any ideas, they will be greatly appreciated!
  2. For the most part, it will be Sprites in a 1:1 pixel ratio with a custom screen size option, but I'm thinking of implementing video cut scenes for important encounters and events
  3. Yeah! As a matter of fact, I'm working on it now! The reason that it's been such a gap between now and the first one is that the graphics have drastically changed from being ds rom hack. I'm trying to keep as similar with Bw2 Sprites and overworld tiles, but a lot will change.
  4. Yep! All existing Pokémon will be included. The thing is, however, the Pokémon will be in the gen 5 animated sprite format, so I need as many existing sprites or gifs like that as possible. I think the smogon forum had a topic about it, but any link to a sprite or gif of one will help me dramatically
  5. Sup Guys, I haven't forgot about or dropped this projet, so no need to worry. I've lately been solving technicalities on this big upcoming project update. Some big points I'd like to share before the reveal: Single Player Content: -The potential for more new pokémon has drastically increased. There could possibly be a full 100+ dex of new species -Also, Pokémon have no need to be replaced now, and there is a possibility to catch all 721+ in a single game -The possibility of new types is also resolved, and the Fairy type has already been implemented -The traditional Fire/Water/Grass trio is back, but with a twist -Also, the region is COMPLETELY NEW and not a modification of unova Multiplayer and Minigames: -I'm working on compatability with official games all the way up to Gen 6 -There will be a Wifi Lobby and GTS as well as a potential tournament for singles and doubles. Portability: -I'm trying to make this Apple/Android compatible without the use of an emulator or rom Meaning... This is no longer technically a rom hack Meaning... I'll have to make a thread elsewhere... But, I won't leave you guys in the dust. The new thread will be linked in this thread when ready. And that concludes your 2015 E3 Coverage!

  10. Thank You! As far as I tested, I have encountered very few bugs with all of which being easily fixable. I haven't seen that one in particular, but that being said, I haven't done much work on the actual legendary encounters yet. Thank you for your support! Sounds great! when the game comes close to the testing phase, I'll give you a shout!
  11. Good news! the number of new Pokemon could in fact increase again! I want to document the ones that I have now and have them fully functional in game before I announce any more though. Route 511 theme and an orchestral remastering are available for listening on Soundcloud!
  12. I've made a spreadsheet containing all of the new data and the line up of new pokemon seems pretty impressive! Each type is represented at least once, and every pokemon was design to show off a concept not yet seen in the games, whether it be competitively or design wise,etc. I also embedded the Soundcloud playlist of completed tracks for easier access*edit* You can't embed it on this forum haha
  13. The final amount of new Pokémon will be 80 This doesn't include mega forms. I'm currently working on music and sprites after that will come map hacking, and lastly scripting and team building. I'm getting close to the final stretch guys
  14. I've implemented 50+ new Pokémon, not including contest submissions. Still designing region and formulating storyline and side quests. I don't really know if will or even can use contest submissions, due to the anonymity of the designers.
  15. There's quite a lot more, but it hasn't been entirely finished. I got the hang of map hacking, but there are quite a few constraints in Gen 5.
  16. Completed what would be considered the Elite Four, and boy are they challenging! I genned a semi-competitive team to test their AI, and I lose on a regular basis. They will really provide a new look to an old concept
  17. I was using pptxt, and that might be the problem. I'm going to try spiky's text editor that comes with the map editor and see what I get. Thanks a bunch! Edit: Yeah Spiky's editor works and I've successfully changed the names of several trainers and edited what they say during battle. Fun Fact: The string variable for your and the rival's name is global through the script file. I changed the rival class to this and it now displays: "<rival name> would like to battle." If anyone wants the location of these files, they are located at narc a/0/0/2 files 381 and 382
  18. The text data is not found anywhere in a002 or 3. Is it possible? Has anyone found the location at least?

  21. I think you guys will love the concept of the elite 4. Also, the gymleader challenge work differently than in the past.
  22. The recent winner of the /vp/ fakemon contest was Hampear by 2 votes. 2nd place was Seedra with 6 votes 3rd placers were Wynlil, Cragairock, and.... Only 3 entries received one vote. Congrats all participants! Just because your design did not place doesn't mean that it will be dropped in the project.
  23. Update: I can confirm that replacing the pokémon data in a/0/1/6 does not change the encounter music. At one point, I thought i could be a flag in the said location. I tested this by injecting Azelf's data into Arceus' place, expecting the screen to ripple and the fourth gen azelf uxie mespirit music to play once encountering it. The result was merely a floating Psychic-type Arceus. Soon, I'll probably try doing a search and replace for the reverse hex pokemon bytes. ex. Virizion #640 in hex: 280 reverse hex: 8002 then I'd search each relevant narc and .bin one by one for every instance of this and replace them with the relevant species one at a time with a trial in between. Tedious as it is, it is almost manditory that I am able to change these encounters. My project depends on this and I wouldn't be the same if special encounters only had standard battle music. I have a solution that WILL work, but I don't want to have to go as far as to replace, for example, the aforementioned Azelf with a second copy of Arceus which may or may not retain it's Multitype forms and just using that instead. If anyone knows anything on the location or use of this data, it wouldn't go unused.
  24. You know, I've been working on new species, megas, and forme changes, but I honestly haven't thought of adding new evos. This is really food for thought. thanks!
