I don't really mind them being on DS, in fact, I prefer it, since I only got my DS this year, I had to borrow a friends whenever I wanted to play until now. I don't really mind if it's updated graphically, it's the actualy gameplay that I like, and discovering what each of the new Pokemon are, one by one. So, as long as I can play it, I'm happy with it. However, they could have come up with better names. Onyx and Quartz, for example? Assuming they want to keep the black/white thing going.

OK, sorry for my in activeness with this as of late, I just took a bit of a accidental break from PP. You guys should check out the new original post, I updated it, and I have something new, however, it's still in the sketchy draft mode. I promise I'll update it soon, if I don't get too caught up in homework. Canine-ified Umbreon Sketch Yup. It's messy, it's ugly, it's horrible. But, it's a start. Until later, everyone! - EDIT: Ugh, I scanned a better, coloured version of it, but my scanner totally screwed everything up. It looks decent, on paper, but on the computer it's all pixelated and gross. - EDIT: Okay, instead of a colour version (which I'm working on!), I'll go ahead and post a few sketches of starships that I drew, after I do the dishes. -
Strip is what most people call it. You're so sick-minded, Sushiz. It's a Sunday Newspaper cartoon strip, and, IMHO, by far superior to any Manga or Anime. I'll prove it to you next Monday!

Site: Project Pokémon First Anniversary
RenegadeShroom replied to NewsBot's topic in News Discussion
A better question is, when were there downs? Anyway, happy anniversary, PP! I haven't been here since the beginning but I hope to stick around for a long time at least. Here's to many more! -

You think so? I thought it would fall under literature, thus ending up in CD. Ooh, which ones have you got? I've got Yukon Ho!, It's a Magical World, Scientific Progress Goes "Boink", The Lazy Sunday Book and The Essential Calvin and Hobbes Treasury. I love them all, and if I'm ever faced with 'sell or starve' I'll go with starve, thanks. I love how Bill Watterson isn't just about making people laugh with Calvin and Hobbes - Some of the strips are really meaningful, and the one with the raccoon is really sad. This is one of the major things that sets it apart from your average, run-of-the-mill strip, in my opinion.

Talk about Calvin and Hobbes in this thread! For those of you who don't know what it is, I'd suggest going to the local library and looking under the comic book section, the creator of the strip is Bill Watterson. You'll soon understand why everyone who's read his strips admires this guy. :] I anycase, the strip is about a six year old boy (Calvin) and his tiger (Hobbes) that, to everyone else is just a stuffed animal. However it's not in his imagination, it's just how different people percieve the tiger. To Calvin, he is a real, living, walking, talking orange 'n' black tiger, and is a friend and companion. Because he has no real friends, funnily enough. Well, I've been a fan since I was about six, I was drawn right in by Watterson's brilliant style and colouring. When I got older, I discovered that he was very different from other cartoonists - he did everything himself, and he didn't sell out to make Calvin and Hobbes an overused money making scheme, he was in it for the strip, not for the money. I was sad to discover that he had stopped creating strips, but it was probably for the best, before it became stale and lame, like Garfield.

Hi there! No worries about being shy, you'll make plenty of friends over time here. Comics? Drawing? Love 'em! Although I'm more of a 'Sunday Newspaper Funnies' comic lover, they're still comics. If you haven't already, I'd advise you to check out Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson, absolutely brilliant series.

Ah, okay, thanks fro taking the time to read it. -
The thing is, if you're gonna train an animal to fight, you need to be harsh to an extent. You can't always be the goody two shoes, it's the same as most things in life. And, I don't know about you, but something tells me that I can't love a monkey that is on fire, or a crocodile/alligator that is rather humanoid in appearance. It's more likely to scare me to death, than make me love it. Or feel very sorry for the monkey. If we assume that the anime needs to have a certain extent of realism to it, we need less love towards the Pokemon and a bit more harshness - from Ash anyway.

I actually loved R/S/E. I'd played generations one and two already, and I liked the bright, tropical atmosphere of Hoenn. I really loved the Grass types and Water types in Hoenn, the colour palette, IMO was far superior. I mean, after I played R/S/E and started playing FR/LG, the colours seemed kind of dark and a lot blander than those in Hoenn. I loved the entire layout of the island itself. I'd really like to see it remade in fifth gen, and if it is on a new console, even better. I really do hope that R/S/E are remade next generation. Was that a bit of a 'nostalgic old fart' rant?

So, while I haven't been on PP much recently, I have been on a bunch of other forums, and a few of them have a Media/Entertainent section, divided into books/literature, music, TV, movies and video games sub-forums. If it's too much effort to do that, I understand, but perhaps PP could do something similar? Creative discussion could perhaps just become the section to post your own works and other such things. Also, how about a stickied suggestion thread for this section, so that it doesn't get cluttered with all the suggestion threads that are bound to pop up. Cheers, Shroom.

My main problem with Ash is that he doesn't seem to learn that Pikachu needs a varied moveset to be better than he is. He can't just have 90% electric attacks and still win all the time. I watched most of the first D/P season, and, unless he already has, I think that Ash needs to put some more thought and effort into training his Pokemon, and perhaps take a hint from Paul - If you want to be better, you can't always be the nice guy, you have to be harsh sometimes. I mean, aside from just making money, the creators of the show could actually try to teach the main audience (little kids) something, instead of a dumb, predictable plot which has almost no meaning, except to tell little kids that, "as long as your'e nice and put some effort into what you're doing, you'll succeed at everything." The fact is that you can't. Oops, heh heh, I went a bit off topic there. Sorry. I might be coerced into watching the anime if a Johto series was made without Ash and with a person who's generally nice, but not so 'kiddish' in character as Ash. The middle ground between Ash and Paul, you could say.

You might want to try explaining a bit more? People are more likely to respond to your topic if you write an engaging post, which makes them want to reply. From what I understand of your title, people or Pokemon that morph into other Pokemon? If so, That would make a cool show, provided that it wasn't as kiddy and lame as the current anime.

Next Remake of Johto(Crystal)
RenegadeShroom replied to Nabarl sent out Mew!!!'s topic in Pokémon Franchise
I don't think that they're gonna remake Crystal. For one, They didn't do a Yellow version remake, did they? Also, They made Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Platinum to add new features to the other two games, and to get Pokemon you otherwise wouldn't be able to. It's very unlikely that it'll be remade. Hang on, shouldn't this topic be in the Pokemon Franchise or Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver sections? -
Bear McCreary: All Along the Watchtower It's an alternate version of the original song, created for the BSG series.

I certainly hope that time-travel isn't possible - there'd be too many people screwing around with the past and end up ripping apart the entire future course of events, and that probably includes people being born. I say, if it is possible, that as soon as you go backwards in time, you create an alternate universe, which exists in sync with our own. This actually isn't my idea, but it's off Star Trek, and it makes me worry less about some idiot erasing me from existence.

What do they really eat in pokemon world.
RenegadeShroom replied to Lucario's topic in Pokémon Franchise
I'd like to point out to everyone that anime is not canon. Also, CharmanderRulz, your last point has no purpose at all. If it came down to that, then everything would die, because there are ecosystems. Anyway, like we've already said, Swellow eats Wurmple, as do multiple other bird types. I would imagine that Pokemon like Charizard and Salamence would eat pretty much everything that's lower on the food chain, except rock types and electric types. -

RenegadeShroom replied to Lucario's topic in Pokémon Franchise
Yeah, Team Tasty was funny in MD2. Actually, I'd say that there are poachers and the like in the Pokemon world, who illegally hunt Pokemon and sell their coats, eat their meat, etc. Imagine how much a Skarmory would be worth! -

RenegadeShroom replied to Lucario's topic in Pokémon Franchise
Well, I'm guessing that the people are all vegans, however, Pokemon would probably have different diets. We know that some Pokemon don't eat food per-say, like Larvitar. It eats mountains so it can grow. Pokemon like Charizard and Gyarados would need meat to survive. I also find the idea that real animals co-exist doubtful. They would all be on the brink of extinction oor extinct. -
If Gen 5's Pokemon have a theme..

Actually, I can imagine a witchdoctor kinda Pokemon...it looks purty evil in my head. O_O -
We are ahead of everyone except people in Antarctica, and that's not by very much. Um, we can see sunsets in New Zealand, that's what it's called when the sun goes below the horizon, Sushiz. Oh, man, I hope I get to see that at least once in my life, Relyte. It sounds really amazing.
