  1. Actually, I never have played the GB sounds in my Heartgold game (except the time I checked it out). Although, the old 8-bits music was better in my opinion, but more in composition than in sound. I was disappointed when I heard the new music of Heartgold because I thought they could do much more cool things with the material than fill it up with random instruments and weird extra passages. But... to play with the graphics of Heartgold and hear those 8-bits sounds? I do not like that experience, so I do not use the GB option. I prefer to enjoy the music of which I think it is still good (the Team Rocket Theme, the Tin Tower for example). The new music also has some pros, what do you think about the National Park piano cadenza? It is fantastic, for sure!
  2. That is what I want to hear! The clarinet is simply a beautiful instrument. You do not have to feel out of place anymore, I play the clarinet, the cello and the piano! ^^ However, I like pop and rock/metal bands very much, but I only have played 'classical' works with all my instruments. Besides that, I am a very bad performer, so I am studying mostly for myself. For me, that is more fun than to be on stage.
  3. Surprisingly, I do not see much 'Bulbasaur' answers (not that it matters...). But I always picked Bulbasaur in my Pokémon Red game. It was basically the best Pokémon to pick when you want a quick playthrough until the fifth Gym. Brock and Misty were simple because you could hit them super effective (uhm, I mean their Pokémon ), you resisted electric attacks from the Pokémon of Lt. Surge and you could use simple 'Cut' fights with the Pokémon of Erika, because they endlessly used Poisonpowder on you! I suppose that you had not any value for the 'intelligence' of the trainers back then. ^^ Mostly I also caught Nidoking, so you could handle Koga and then Missingno. was the objective. With other Pokémon games, I always varied my choice of starters, but with Pokémon Red... No, it had to be Bulbasaur.
  4. First, thank you for your welcome, wraith89! As I said, I did not expect much regarding the introduction section so you are only relatively late, but three replies at once are great! It's striking that you are Korean, because I had in mind to learn that language rather than Chinese - for it has an alphabet. ^^ Actually I should learn to speak it and to read/write it, but speaking it is very difficult... I'm already blessed with my own language in that case (Dutch has much more vowels and consonants than English or Italian for example), but the pronunciation of some Korean vowels also are unknown to me, though. By the way, do you know some Korean artists like Woong San and Jang Na Ra? I also am very interested in namely the pop music in Japan/Korea/China, so I listen to them pretty much. How long have you been playing the piano, if I may ask? I have played the piano too, for 5 years, and I also have played another member of the Violin family: the cello (help, those similarities are getting more close!) However, I started playing the clarinet since September and I like it a lot too! It is indeed a pity that you are drifting away from one of your favourite things in the world... Anyway, you always have the time to pick it up again! Thank you too, Tbird, is that what they call 'read between the lines'? ^^ I also am wondering how your face looks like now, tarnished by that uncommon physical process! Very well, I hope you still can play your instruments with it, you could begin a one-man-band with (bass)guitar and drums! Which instrument do you like the most of them or which of them are you playing more frequently? Also, I like to thank Hugo, but because you are a newcomer, I think it is better to leave a reply at your own thread! If someone still may have something to say; be my guest!
  5. Your Journal shows your recent activity first and when you are pressing A, it goes back in history. So there is nothing strange about it when it goes from April to Februari?
  6. You could get it by encountering a Pokémon of level >100 at the edge of Cinnabar Island (actually when you are performing the 'Old Man' glitch). You have to catch it, give it Rare Candies until it reaches lv. 255 and after that you had to give it Hp Ups, then use another Rare Candy. It will grow to level 0 (I tested it yesterday night to be sure. ;P). But, it will have an immense HP value, which is displayed with an E in the beginning instead of a number (like 'E44'). I can remember that I had discovered the glitch before I read something about it. I used a Starmie for it and let an Oddish use Absorb on it... and my Starmie survived it. ^^ Yesterday I decided to check this glitch, but you don't have to give your Pokémon 10 Hp Ups. One single Hp Up will work too! But those glitches were very cool. Another glitch, called the 0 ERROR glitch, could be activated the same way as the Mew glitch (or, for a great deal at least). Instead of the Slowpoke trainer, you'll use a Bug Catcher at Route 6, you must fly to Vermillion and battle a trainer the same way as in the Mew glitch. The difference is that you must go back to Vermillion and talk with the man with the Machop. When you go back to Route 6, the route is glitched; you start to walk slowly and mysterious cries can be heard after a while, for example. Actually, I thought the route where the gambler is situated, is glitched too when you are performing the Mew Glitch. I used the Mew Glitch many times with a friend to see what Pokémon appeared when battling other trainers. We revealed many routes, but we never explored them all...
  7. I like to have Dratini following me, she's so lovely... But Dragonair, Mantine and Quilava are some of my favourites too!
  8. Hello Ruki, you only registered three days later than me! I think I'll have a simple question regarding you -and therefore also regarding your fantastically active, fulfilling (heehee) life! Which sort of music do you prefer and which artist do you like especially? Wait, that were two questions! Speaking of deadly accuracy, you'll understand that I expect more than one answer per question... ^^ Have fun performing your act as random forum guy on Project Pokémon! Hails!
  9. Hmm, I wasn't aware that you had to use a sort of patch for the written ROM... Anyway, I tried it, the ROM doesn't show a white screen anymore and I could play it normally! Thanks a lot, aninymouse!
  10. How did you do that? I have no idea how to get a good result in that course, it is very frustrating! I have tried it many times (because it is part of the Skill course, I suppose ^^). As for my results, I only can beat you with Snow Throw so far I have seen, so I think your records are a bit more than simply 'really good'. This are my results after having spent 14 hours in the Pokéathlon (that is pretty long)! Speed Course Record: 499 points Power Course Record: 468 points Skill Course Record: 553 points Stamina Course Record: 549 points Jump Course Record: 460 points Hurdle Dash Event Record: 80.2 seconds Pennant Capture Event Record: 44 flags Circle Push Event Record: 60 points Block Smash Event Record: 135 pieces Disc Catch Event Record: 76 points Lamp Jump Event Record: 506 points Relay Run Event Record: 18.9 laps Ring Drop Event Record: 187 points Snow Throw Event Record: 111 hits Goal Roll Event Record: 14 points
  11. I restarted the games many and many times (accordingly I voted on '11+ times' in the poll). First I had Pokémon Emerald and after some time I also had Pokémon Ruby, the order is a bit strange. But I loved the games, the story with the legendaries was very good in my opinion, I also loved the great music and the graphics were good enough for me. When I had both games in my possession, I could trade with myself if I had caught memorable Pokémon and I could start over as much as I want with the other game. I think I have played Ruby five or six times and Emerald around twenty times. Even now I have some secret bases in my Emerald game which are more than four years old, due to this approach.
  12. Greetings everyone! (Yes, it was sunny here an hour ago!) I've seen that this section of Project Pokémon contains a lot of topics from new members with only a few (or none) responses in it, so I would not be surprised if that also is going to happen with my new thread. Anyway, I will make this message out of formality, for the case that some people might think 'Who the heck is Sunny day?' and subsequently have the possibility to look up this thread to find the answer for that question. ^^ I will be known here as Sunny day -as you can see- and I have some strange ability to fill my messages up with random thoughts and other 'pointless' details, so be prepared! ...Or I will try to avoid it. I came across this forum when I was looking for ROM edit tools for the 4th gen games (the PPRE to be exactly). I have seen that Project Pokémon has a great section dedicated to ROM research and the such, so maybe I can learn something from it. Obviously I'm (still) interested in the Pokémon games, namely the 3th and the 4th generations, and I play them frequently. Beside that, my main interest is in music; (attempts to) compose music, play music instruments, listen to music, study about music, etc.. Oh, before I forget to mention it: I'm dutch and my exam in English wasn't that bewildering, so please forgive me when I make some (spelling) mistakes! Now I have cleared that up, I think it is time to check the other sections of the forum while my presence isn't that curious anymore! See you! Sunny day
  13. I have exactly the same problem as T to the M (except the fact that I play it on my Cyclo DS and I only altered some trainers and their Pokémon). I've almost read all the relevant posts in this topic, but I couldn't find an answer for it. I find it very strange that my written ROM is something like 64MB and I supposed that this would be the problem... But between some replies here, someone said that this would be normal for a written ROM to be lesser MB than it's original. Well, if that's not the problem, I haven't any clue what's wrong... I hope someone has an answer for this question, I would appreciate it.
