  1. You banning me for that is like ... I dunno. Me banning you because I have a cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence. On a totally different tangent, though somewhat relevant to the post in hand; is it just me or do Depeche Mode songs always sound better when someone else is covering them?
  2. Well... I guess I'll post here . I must say, through all of my scepticism and cynicism things haven't turned out too bad. I am thankful for the gifts the older stuff got given this generation. Namely, as Wraith touched upon, Mischievous Heart Sableye; Dia on the battle field - Naked Tom Embodied to Wraith. It really is a beast, I had been excited ever since the release of the Dream world abilities and, boy, has it delivered. Currently I'm running (and dare I say I was the first to run) a move-set of Sub/Protect/Will o Wisp/Nightshade. Priority on all but night shade means that I can Burn stall many physical attackers; most of whom being of the fighting nature so switching in is all but a given. Similarly, I can switch in on a lot of specially inclined folk and do the same, it becomes harder because after the burn they can still break through my substitute but I can take a nice hefty chunk away before switching someone else in on a resisted move and getting rid of them . He's been an asset to all of my gen 5 teams thus far and seems to be the defensive king pin needed to get passed a lot of the new physical guys. Porygon2 is another gifted pokemon this generation. in prior generations it was used to get rid of the likes of Salamence and Gyarados and this generation it got given a 30% defensive boost in form of Evo- Stone for all the more walling to help with these new uber powered pokes. Running a set of Trick Room/ Recover/ Boltbeam means I can PP stall A LOT of guys (Even physically enclined folks thanks to burn support from Sableye) whilst being an offensive threat at the same time. Roopushin laughs at poor P2, but that's where sableye steps in (so long as it's not a guts variant). She reminds me of a Jui-jitsu vet'... able to attack and hurt things even when in a bad spot . A lot of guys that were good in Gen 4 are still good now. Flygon can still revenge and scout things as good as ever; Starmie is still a great spinner/ status absorber. So I'm happy. While stuff is definitely getting trolled on (Machamp, Scizor, Hitmonchan < Roopushin) there's new viability to be seen. I've not tried a whole lot of things as of yet, but I am certainly very much aware that this trapping candle is going to be a pain in the ass, the weird legendary cloud guys; namely the ground flyer, aren't going to be easy to deal with. I do, however, fear that stuff like Scizor may fall into UU territory. Machamp will survive due to its awesome lead role. But I know for sure, UU won't be a pretty place to play in. Stall isn't completely viable. I haven't used ut, but I didn't use it in gen 4 either. It seems that instead of their being stall teams there will be stalling pivots; pace setters, so to speak. For instance Jolorda can stall until the cows come home, Sableye too can do this (WoW/Toxic). And I guess I quite like that. The feel that instead of it just being your standard 6v6 battle royale, you do need to set the pace of the battle if you want to get somewhere. A lot of my teams are built with a long-haul in mind, and while in gen 4 it was possible to get a quick sweep out of a long-game team, in Gen V you have to implement and dictate the pace lest you get beat by someone elses pace. (I hope that makes some sort of sense.) Briefly I touched on some of the broken-ness. But I won't go into detail there. There's too much stuff I haven't tried for me to comment on it plausibly and I've not tried in any intricate sense to counter said problem pokes. As for balance; You can't tell at all. With this current Level 100 tier, and people using that as an excuse to use clearly over powered pokes, getting any sense of balance is quite far off. However, in battling guys with pokemon that will clearly be OU > it feels almost balanced, by no means stable as I still don't know who most of these new guys are just yet, but certainly almost balanced . I don't know, I miss Scizor already . I suppose if you forget about gen 4 and take generation 5 as if it were the only generation, or at least with an unbiased frame of mind, there is balance - a lot of new hard hitters, but more defensive capabilities thanks to new abilities/changes and new items. Overall I am really quite happy. the pokemon still look dumb as hell, but I've been using my old favourites and testing out their new toys, and I think if you were scared of Gen V then doing that is the best way to get into the new generation. Oh ... Ugly moth is ugly. And God damn it I will make Butterfree sweep!
  3. You're banned for making about as much sense as a one legged man in a butt-kicking contest.
  4. You're banned because: A) You're unlucky B) I feel like it C) all of the above... JUST MOAR. G'day to ya lassy.
  5. I believe you can get it from here.
  6. B**** I'm from the north and I'm coming down to ban ya' .
  7. Eek don't make your own threat-list... They got one at Smogon. I had it bookmarked but ... well it's not there anymore .
  8. Zurugga/zukin are the best pokes in the whole of gen 5 . Don't be hating on the sexiest fighting type ever . ^--- completely sans Sarcasm, I truly do love Zuruzukin .
  9. Banned because: Aerial Narrow is pwned by Aerial Black. Much like: 7 8 9.
  10. Haha, don't worry about it, man . You got any input in regards to the team?
  11. Wow I'm sat here bitching about Venusaur and then you decide to post moar Venusaur . I feel trolled
  12. I love how you spammed 9001 bulbasaurs . And at the time I didn't notice the 2 SDs; I floundered a lot there. I may just bring the old bird back in to the game, I thought I'd give her a little break is all . Physical Venu has been a problem ever since people realised it could go physical, so I've never been much prepared for her. And with all the joy of Gen 5, I've not done enough gen 4 to see enough venu ... to counter venu... Gonna have to see if Primeape can do enough with EQ.
  13. Ermmm I guess I'll update you eagerly awaiting folk on my current faves: 1) Sableye 2) Butterfree <- I'm cool 3) Leparsudu 4) Arcanine 5) Feraligatr
  14. Spiritomb = big problem to Mesprit, so First port of call is to burn it with mismagius, bring in chansey and stall with wish; unless I can find an apt moment to bring in another guy (say Azumarill) and spam that high powered waterfall into it. Arcanine. Completly depends on the set. The sets get hurt bad by nidoking; the morning glory set can get hurt bad by water fall from Azumarill. And most sets won't like getting paralysed by mismagius. And if worst comes to worst and Arcanine manages to take someone down an EQ from Ape will finish the deal. Uxie = walled by chansey. Lead variants can't do anything against King; and take a sucker punch to do some damage. Expecting the switch after the first sucker punch switch to ape to get my scout on. Clefable: most run SOME form of none attacking move, be it BD; Toxic; protect; wish. Come in on any of those moves with ape and GG them. Lead Zam - I fire off an EP to get initial damage done/ break subs and follow up with a sucker punch. Basically; EP until my sash gets broken. Unless I get the feeling I can Sucker punch with the sash intact; in which case lead zam hasn't done anything. Most alakazam outside of leads are Sub+3's or trick scarfers; most likely they'll come in on magius and in anticipating the switch either hit trick or sub; in either case bring in ape and smack zam around with U turn And come in on the next turn with azumarill and kill it with aqua jet .

If you can't get the hang of pokesav I suggest that to save yourself trouble... Just use pokegen. There's a forum below, go into there download it and voila... Plus you can actually speak to the maker of pokegen right here, so yeah... do that.
  16. Yeah registeel is a douche. But he can only really Twave/ Seismic toss. And explosion is predictable as hell. So while he'll provide initial problems (as any wall should) once I've busted through him it takes 2 turns to remove the Twave and pass a wish ... Ok 3 turns; point being 3/40 potential turns is nothing. Keep throwing more problem pokes at me... I'm yet to make an actual threat list; and well... this is MOAR FUN.
  17. Thanks Buddy Steelix takes a hell of a beating from Azumarill, and can't do too much in return; though if they're packing A magius spiritomb to go with the steelix that can be problematic. So, commonly I'll slam a waterfall into steelix first to test the waters (Pun not intended, but kept on reflection). Water spells win win in either scenario. In the worst case scenario; will o wisp + subsplit can do quite nicely to none roar variants, roar variants take a wisp, however, so they won't be hurting too much anyway. Milotic can be a problem; toxic + wish goes a long way to removing none rest talk variants, rest talkers are prime set up bait for Mesprit. (just got to watch out for the 1/3 chance of a toxic being selected; but again chansey helps due to heal bell + natural Cure. Venusaur's a bitch - 'nuff said . Magius again can't do much to blissey; but in return I'm not touching Magius either just got to wish away and hope for the best in that scenario. Once magius sub is busted (hopefully Primeape's U-turn can do this [bring him in on the turn that Sub/NP/CM is chosen]) Azumarill can Aqua jet for some heavy damage.
  18. Aye, Pokemon Online - I remember seeing "turn 132" and thinking "Good God".
  19. Yeah, and I'm banning you because you confused the holy hell out of me ol' chap.
  20. Poke away, monsoir. Off topic; What was your verdict on Zapdos in the end? I would look but I'm lazy .
  21. You're banned for insinuating that I beat on sir Mushy, when in actual fact I adore him (L).
  22. Fairly well I imagine, you outspeed it, resist air slash + Aura sphere, take pitiful damage from Espeed (if it runs it) and I imagine you can 2HKO it with Tbolt. I would test it... but I'm just about to grab some food .
  23. You could try: 96 HP <- Perfect HP number for leftovers and SR 248 Def <- roost stall against luke/gyara 88 Sp Atk <- OHKOs Gyar, high chance of OHKO with rocks on Luke 8 Sp Def <- Excess 76 Spe <- Out speeds Luke by 1 EDIT: W/ + speed nature
  24. Try and run ... well Bulk offence ~ Thunderbolt ~ Heatwave ~ U-Turn/ Hp Grass/ Ground ~ Roost I'd say you want enough speed to out pace luke, enough HP/Def to live a Stone edge off of gyara, Enough Special attack to OHKO gyara, and throw any left over into special defence.
  25. Wraith and I had longer, I believe it was Blissey vs Blissey ...
