The scans show the three starters (ツタージャ, ポカブ, and ミジュマル). Larger images of the male and female hero's art are now here. Tbird Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Grass snake is called Tsutaja The fire pig is called Pokabu And the water ... fluff is called Mijumara (http://serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon.shtml) Though it's only leaked info it pretty much looks like these are the confirmed Jp names. I like the look of the grass snake though it does look a little like a ripped off version of treeko ... Let's hope that its final evo isn't as ugly as sceptile . There's also two new moves and an ability. The ability is Illusion and it looks to be much the same as tranform only in ability form. Claw sharpen raises accuracy and attack. Trickery is a stat calculated move. Again from Serebii . EDIT: Looking over the pokes, and if what I have heard is true about one of them having a never seen before type combo, I speculate the fire pig could be fire/electric
amh7912 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Has grass electric been seen? I doubt that's what it is, but I'm pretty sure fire/dark already exist, and that's all I see. Least today that's all I see.
Haziel005 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 i expected something more cool for the starters the grass one looks allot like treecko, the pig idk me expected a fire starter that would look as awesome as charizard because lets face it a rodent a chicken and a monkey cant stand up the awesomness of a dragon but now a pig? and the water one? seriously come on all water starters have been awesome till now they better make them evolve into some killing machines
Fawful Of Ice Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I HAVE CHORTLES! meh, there ok..... i like the fire piggy preaty well trainers are cool and nice regeon name i approve!
Zafur Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Well, these designs are a little surprising, but they look nicer to me than 4th gen's. Pretty pleased overall. Especially considering I like reptiles and pigs, while hate penguins and monkeys. Kinda think they should've done something different with the pig's eyes though. Make it look a little cuter or something, although the current eyes are okay.I don't really like the water type... Not for me at all, and reminds me of 4th gen's style. I'm leaning closer to choosing the grass one but I'm still not completely sure which one will end up being my main out of the two, considering I'll most likely end up getting both games. I'll have to wait and see the final forms to make sure. Just hope they don't look bad when fully evolved, and that the otter will also look good. So I have a reason to choose it if/when they come out with a third version of 5th gen. ;P
SteelSlaughter111 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 So we went from a really cool tortoise/turtle to an awesome alligator to an insane looking mudfish to a sharp looking penguin and then this? D: A sea otter... -.-; I'm still waiting for a cockroach pokemon to crawl under that Rotom fridge
amh7912 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Hey Cockroach, there's one they haven't done. I hope when they do it they succeed as much as Tranpinch did with ants. I didn't really care for it at first, but that's cuz I didn't realize it evolved. Once I learned that I went, caught and evolved one immediately. I really don't like these guys, Gen one will always be awesome, when gen two came out I loved it, when gen three came out I was iffy at first, but have come to love. Gen four...it had some stuff I liked, but they seemed more about the complexeties of the Pokemon, like the location based forme changes and specialty evolves, and complex codes, rather than the Pokemon. If the starters are anything to judge by, there will be a few good spots, but the rest are just fillers to reach the hundred or so we expect. I'm really hoping Nintendo is saving the good stuff for later.
Yangbo Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I really like the grass starter, it maybe similar to treecko, but I still luv it. Since it's a snake pokemon I can't wait for its final evo. The fire and the water pokes are alright, but I think their final evo is probably gonna still be awesome.
Zetaphrem Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Really really really really really hoping they do this but have you ever been in the path of an angry warthog? It would be awesome IMO to see charizard hold off the giant tusks of an out of control fire pig It would essentially be a much much faster mamoswine, maybe not as big, but twice as ruthless.
Cyndaquil1995 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 the protagonists look like older versions of Dawn and Lucas (as in more grown up)
Fawful Of Ice Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 but have you ever been in the path of an angry warthog? It would be awesome IMO to see charizard hold off the giant tusks of an out of control fire pig. >.>Mr.Piggles would never do that.....*is attacked by firepig* overall, i like the grass snake and Mr.Piggles, but i hate sea-otter-wearing-a-seashell-on-its-chest.......
umbreonboii Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 personally, i dont like them, i like the idea of the weird fire pig being part electric, and tbh , the others fail , and if they dont have very gudevo's then her comes one of the worst set of pokemon games ever
V5. Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Grass starter is the only one that looks decent. A pig? LAME. And the "otter" looks terrible. Hopefully the second and final evo's look good.
Haziel005 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) chinise zodiac anyone? DRAGON(charizard),RAT(typlision), CHICKEN(Blaziken), MONKEY(Infernape) and now a PIG Edited May 14, 2010 by Haziel005
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 chinise zodiac anyone? DRAGON(charizard),RAT(typlision), CHICKEN(Blaziken), MONKEY(Infernape) and now a PIG How you see Typhosion as a rodent is beyond me. If anything Cyndaquil looks like and anteater.
SCV Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 How you see Typhosion as a rodent is beyond me. If anything Cyndaquil looks like and anteater. Its probably an attempt to make typhlosion fit as an animal from the chinise zodiac.
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Its probably an attempt to make typhlosion fit as an animal from the chinise zodiac. His attempt yes. Pokemon's, i think not.
Fawful Of Ice Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 If i may say, isnt cyndiquil the FIRE MOUSE POKEMON?
Zetaphrem Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 How you see Typhosion as a rodent is beyond me. If anything Cyndaquil looks like and anteater. Echidna to be precise but if you look at the entire evolutionary line, they are all based on things that could be considered pest-like mammals such as a rat. But I do agree it's a bit of stretch.
Haziel005 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 If i may say, isnt cyndiquil the FIRE MOUSE POKEMON? thank you lol
Sel Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I'm probably going with the grass starter. I just hope it's final evolution isn't part Dragon... horrible type match up. Though surprisingly i'm on board for a Grass/Electric type
