Possibly a dumb question, but I figured I'd ask just to be sure.

How would I do the Diance side quest in Legends Z-A with this application? It says in the FAQ I need to be linked to the Nintendo services, but I can't do that on a modded switch.

Would I just have to create a Diance in PKhex? Or is there a work around to still do the side quest?

Except you can. I use a modded Switch. I go online with CFW Sysnand. It is fine as long as you aren’t banned nor have anything sketchy (like custom to themes or piracy)

A) No, this requires you to be online and connected to Nintendo official servers.
 

If I can connect to the servers on my emumcc on hacked switch to get mystery gifts will it still work? Is there any other problem with emulated cfw besides being able to connect to nintendo?

Connecting online on emunand will likely get you banned. Use a clean SysNand CFW. Emunand only purpose is to do bannable things, it isn't required in most of the scenarios.

About the emunand:

I screwed up and made the rookie mistake of updating to firmware 21. I'm having to use the beta atmosphere for emunand and many things don't work. It doesn't bother me because JKSV works and that's all I use.

I ran into a problem with BDSP where it wouldn't let me trade because I was on the old version and couldn't update. Tinfoil and the like won't work on 21 yet, or at least I couldn't find one to work updating games.

Anyways, I got pissed off and just removed the txt file that blocks nintendo servers and updated normally. Nothing happened as far as a ban or anything. I just put the file back and disconneted from the internet.

My question is: Did I just get lucky by not getting banned, or is it because I have no themes or pirated games on there?

Like I said JKSV is literally the only thing I use, and I use the actual cartride games on the switch. Also might be worth mentioning I only have a local user on the switch, it's not even connected to a nintendo account.

As for the sysNand cfw:

1. What is the difference between connecting sysNand to the servers vs emuNand?

2. Is it the same as emunand where if you cut the switch off you have to reinject? Wondering if I get a yellow screen will it be fixable or a brick.

I doesn't work the way you think it doest; even with the correct files in BCAT, the games will still attempt to connect to the network before receiving the gift from BCAT.

hey all, been looking into this forum and just recently injected the platinum clothes, shaymin event and darkrai event into brilliant diamond on my modded switch. i was curious to know if anyone has transferred any of the save data of a modded switch (including a slightly modified one like this) to a switch 2, thanks

Yeah, save file transfers from switch 1 to switch 2 works with no issues, even after redeeming wondercard gifts.

okay, i went ahead and transferred the data over. i didnt change the receive dates of the few gifts i have obtained but from what im observing thats not much of a big deal? unsure if you or many others have attempted this transfer but i'll keep the forum updated if i experience anything unusual (ban) lol ;D

No one has ever had an issue for that either.

Home checks are not related to how a gift in mainline games is obtained.

Hi, is this thread still alive? I'm trying this to work for some time now. But i can't get these four files "directories.meta", "etag.bin", "list.msgpack", "na_required". My switch is dual boot, and i cant get online on my cfw to get the latest poke portal news. Is there any other way to get those 4 files? I already searched for that files on citrusbolts website, but no luck. Can someone help?

You need to connect online. Don't use emunand, read the FAQ below the guide

I want to change wonder record dates and I know I can use switch-time to do it. However, I need to connect to the internet, so I suppose I can't boot up CFW sysnand, go online and use switch-time because that might get me banned. Can I use switch-time on offline CFW emunand and then boot up a clean CFW sysnand installation to redeem the mystery gifts with the desired dates?

You can't use emunand. 

It's to be used online on SysNand CFW. 

Ban risks are "no one has ever been banned for this, but if you do and you'll get banned, let us know. All at your own risk."

So far Nintendo only banned for piracy and blatant cheating on online / competitive play. Read the FAQs on the second post.

No. SysNand CFW with a working internet connection is required. See the FAQs.
