Derpentine Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I transferred a Meltan that I'm trying to edit to make a Melmetal, but I keep getting "Invalid: IVs do not match encounter requirements." If I change all of the IVs to 31, I don't get the error anymore. If I change even one of them, the error comes back. The "Randomize IVs" button apparently does not produce a valid IV set, either. I don't want a perfect Melmetal, though. I just want to "evolve" my Meltan without having to grind 400 candy on the mobile game. Is the "IVs do not match" error a false positive, or is there some trick to it?
theSLAYER Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Are you sure IV's was the message? I tried that "evolving" technique, and the errors went away right after I checked and unchecked Auto CP. (it forced recalculating the CP, height and weight)
Kaphotics Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 GO transfer IVs are locked to a specific pattern; hacking the IVs arbitrarily usually won't align with the requirements. Speed is random, defense ivs must be equal, attack ivs must be equal, and every iv except speed must be odd. 1 1
Derpentine Posted December 12, 2018 Author Posted December 12, 2018 (edited) Wow, that's a really interesting setup they went with. Thanks a bunch for the help! Edit: Perhaps that could be accounted for in the "Randomize IVs" button's functionality? Edited December 12, 2018 by Derpentine

It should be a server-end block (a whitelist/blacklist situation), so on user-end we won’t know it’s updated, until someone tries to bring one online.

Even in Gen 7, people got shiny Celebi and hoopa in WiFi battles and trades, but new events gets blocked from trading. its just stupid really
