Derpentine Posted December 12, 2018 Share Posted December 12, 2018 I transferred a Meltan that I'm trying to edit to make a Melmetal, but I keep getting "Invalid: IVs do not match encounter requirements." If I change all of the IVs to 31, I don't get the error anymore. If I change even one of them, the error comes back. The "Randomize IVs" button apparently does not produce a valid IV set, either. I don't want a perfect Melmetal, though. I just want to "evolve" my Meltan without having to grind 400 candy on the mobile game. Is the "IVs do not match" error a false positive, or is there some trick to it? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I tried that "evolving" technique, and the errors went away right after I checked and unchecked Auto CP. Kaphotics Posted December 12, 2018 Share Posted December 12, 2018 GO transfer IVs are locked to a specific pattern; hacking the IVs arbitrarily usually won't align with the requirements. It should be a server-end block (a whitelist/blacklist situation), so on user-end we won’t know it’s updated, until someone tries to bring one online.
