FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Cool! This is a great addition. Much easier then battling for Experience.
punky Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Cool! This is a great addition. Much easier then battling for Experience. Yeah, it seems cool! My pokémon could have experience in the subway!!! :grog:
pokemonfan Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 It sort of sounds like a daycare...except you gain the happiness points. Although I do think it sounds wonderful!
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 It is amazing. But would it evolve? and what about the moves it learns?
Guested Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 It is amazing. But would it evolve? and what about the moves it learns? It's probably just like the daycare center in regards to that.
Aarux Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 A Pokemon pedometer, eh? Sounds like the day-care. One step, one experience point... maybe. It's not something I'll bother with, though. It doesn't shine to me.
Poryhack Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 This just screams Japan-only to me. Think about it... On the other hand it'll be interesting to see exactly how the transfers take place.
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 It's probably just like the daycare center in regards to that. I hope not. In a regional Pokémon Tournament, a 14 year old kid won. When asked what would be a better improvement to the games, he replied that it would be better to use the Poketch (in this case Pokegear) to message you whether or not to give it the move and which one to replace. I read this in game informer, and maybe they will use this in this new app. What do you think?
Guested Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Keep in mind the Pokemon Pikachu and Pokemon Pikachu 2 GS both made it outside of Japan. You know, the tomogatchi type pedometer Pikachu things. Here's some info on the second version, if you didn't know about it. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pokémon_Pikachu_2 The second one had an IR port that you could use to send your built up "watts" (steps) as a Mystery Gift to Gold, Silver, or Crystal (if you had a GBC with the IR port). So since that one made it out of Japan, maybe this one will too.
Mewtwo Ex Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 If you ask me the pedometer will be available in USA also, not only in Japan. Nintendo is giving away pedometers. The games is called ''Personal Trainer - Walker''.
Guested Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) If you ask me the pedometer will be available in USA also, not only in Japan. Nintendo is giving away pedometers. The games is called ''Personal Trainer - Walker''. That's a completely different thing. Edited June 7, 2009 by Guested
InuYouki Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I think its popularity will have a big play on its release to America. If it bombs, I don't see them wasting the money to bring it to America. However, I don't see it not being popular. I know I would totally wear one to the gym haha.
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 This is a pretty cool thing. It supports fitness, and at the same time supports video games. It's a win win for kids (and obese people). Then again, they could just shake it, which would ruin the point of this pedometer.
fenzo666 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 This is a pretty cool thing. It supports fitness, and at the same time supports video games. It's a win win for kids (and obese people). Then again, they could just shake it, which would ruin the point of this pedometer. Fitness?... :\
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Well it is a pedometer. The more you walk, the more you're working your legs and at the same time giving your Pokémon experience. But walking isn't really that much of an exercise, but it still is exercising.
Narwhal Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 You could run... Well it is a pedometer. The more you walk, the more you're working your legs and at the same time giving your Pokémon experience. But walking isn't really that much of an exercise, but it still is exercising.
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Forgot about that. But either way, both are exercise. This is pretty cool, and I can't wait to get it, if it comes out in North America. I'll probably end up importing it.
edes Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Fitness?... :\ Going outside to run is better than staying at home training a pokemon... This is a pretty cool thing. It supports fitness, and at the same time supports video games. It's a win win for kids (and obese people). Then again, they could just shake it, which would ruin the point of this pedometer. My friends once had a pedometer, they opened it and used the trigger to get the number up
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Yeah. That ruins the entire point. It's cheating. This could do good for the health problem in America, but if you just do something to skip the effort, then there is no point for this product.
Zafur Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 If it came bundled, I'd probably just wear it all day to school. No point walking repeatedly up and down three stories and across a block if I don't get a bonus.
FLOOTENKERP Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I hope it comes out for North America. It would be really awesome to ride my bike and level up my Pokémon at the same time.
Narwhal Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I could trade pokémon from D/P/Pt and level them up on the PokéWalker. Their EVs won't go up though... :\
