Pokémon Ruby - The save file has been deleted...
mofaxx posted a topic in Saves - Files and Requests
I'm hoping someone might be able to assist me in recovering this save file. This save file was running on an EZ-Flash Omega Definitive Edition flash cart, and everything has worked as expected until today. My Gamecube (Game Boy Player) froze in the middle of the berry blending minigame, and when I restarted the system, the flash cart booted into Safe Mode. I restarted again, and was able to boot it normally, and when I loaded up Pokémon Ruby again, I got this message: "The save file has been deleted..." And I am presented only with the New Game and Options selections on the menu. I pulled this save file off of the EZ-Flash, and it appears to have the exact same file size as the old save file I extracted off of my official Ruby cartridge (131 KB, 131,072 bytes), but it's listed as a "Unix Executable File" instead of a "Document" like my other save files. Is there any hope to restoring my save file? I expected to load the game right in front of the berry blender in Lilycove City. It's not the end of the world if I can't get this back, but I would really appreciate some help. The first file (.sav 2) is my deleted save that I am hoping can be restored, and the second one (.sav) is the "parent" save file that I started with a month ago. I'm just losing a month's worth of progress, but I was blending Nutpea Berry pokeblocks with 4-players and I'm losing about 140 Pokeblocks I made this way (and the Feebas I was feeding them to!) HGPOfficial started following Doxi's Pokemon Insurgence Save Editor (DPISE)
-
Hey there! I made a small Save Tool for Pokemon Insurgence running on Python. It's very simple and gives access to Money, Trainer Name Editing, Pokemon Editing/Adding, Bag Editing, and Shiny Odds. So I'd like to introduce DPISE! (Doxi's Pokemon Insurgence Save Editor, if you want the government name) Let me know if there's any bugs or anything and I'll fix 'em. 1. Extract the file wherever you would like to keep them. (Probably some save editor folder, or just leave it wherever it is, doesn't matter too much.) 2. Open DPISE.exe 3. Click "Open Save" in the Top left and locate your save file (listed under Game.rxdata in C:\Users\"User"\Saved Games\Pokemon Insurgence by default) 4. Click Load Game Data in the top left and locate your Game Data Folder (most likely found under C:\Program Files (x86)\Insurgence\Pokemon Insurgence 1.2.7 Core) and click select folder. DO NOT open the Data folder within the Core folder previously mentioned, this will not work. 5. Edit your save. 6. Save your data using the "Save As" Button and rename your old Game.rxdata to something like "Game_backup.rxdata" just to be safe, replace the old file with the new one and you're good to play. (Note: you may edit your save data without loading Game Data files, however you WILL NOT be able to edit your shiny odds (it's really only default and 1/1, so unless you REALLY want all them shinies, you can kinda just skip Step 4.) (Secondary Note: When editing your Shiny Odds, the program will automatically make a backup of your old Game Data so it can be reverted to at any time, simply just reload your game data, set your Mode to "Default shiny odds" under the Other tab, and click Apply/Restore. It will automatically remove the other Game Data file and replace it with the old one with normal shiny odds.) DPISE.zip

Got it done by directly using the wind stable app rather than whiskey

I'm not spreading misinformation (which is called disinformation btw). If you intended for the 100% recruitment cheat to crash the game, you failed to do so. If there are multiple cheats that do the same thing, well I'm sorry but I'm not going to tell you which one I used. I'm not going to further enable your habit of being a control freak that tries to police how people play. I think you forgot that video games are about playing in whatever way makes you happy, not however the developer specifically states you must play. That's just not how people play video games. Speedrunning is one of many things that would never exist if people played "how the developer wanted". Competitive scenes for many, more casually focused games like Smash Bros., wouldn't exist either. The player has the freedom to do whatever they want. People are allowed to cheat however which way they desire. It doesn't hurt anyone. It doesn't even affect anyone. Not in any way, shape, or form. Not even you are truly affected in any meaningful way. This is a single-player game, me cheating does nothing to anyone. I'm not the one putting bad light on your work, YOU are. Not only are you trying to control how people play, but you also go out of your way to passive-aggressively attack people in your comments section just because you didn't like what they said, even showing you're willing to straight up lie about that person to create a fake defense for yourself. That doesn't exactly make anyone want to support you or play your romhack. I've seen a lot of your replies to other people and they are extremely rude and toxic when they did nothing to deserve it. The only times I have ever seen you genuinely being nice to anyone at all, is when their comment is a fountain of positivity and praise. Anything else, and you go straight toward being mean as hell. And I really don't believe I need to persuade myself that cheating is okay. When I said I felt 100% justified, it's not because beforehand I inherently believed that cheating was bad, I only felt bad because I typically like to do things legitimately. In reality, there is literally nothing wrong with cheating so long as it doesn't negatively impact anyone's experience with the game. And I reiterate: It's a single-player game. It's my birthright to enjoy it however the hell I see fit, you cannot control or take that freedom away from people. What I did made MY experience better. It made ME happy, and that's what matters. I've never met anyone in my life who tries so hard to be as miserable as possible as you do. I'm sorry, but that's almost all I've ever seen from you: a genuinely insufferable person who seems to want nothing more than to try to make everyone else equally as miserable as themselves at every possible opportunity. You're just making people hate you more and more and I don't understand why you would want to do that. I mean this with complete total sincerity: I believe you need therapy. Something, anything to help you feel better because the way you talk and reply to people don't exactly indicate you're happy with your life. You can make another reply to me if you wish, but I'm not gonna say anything back to you. I just don't want to feed into your habit of trying to cause yourself more misery. It's more than just sad at this point, your behavior is downright self destructive. I'm no longer going to contribute to this endless cycle of negativity. Edit: I want you to know that despite everything, I still don't hate you. I genuinely believe you're capable of being a good person, and I'd like to see you some day being actually approachable and able to be talked to, rather than the way you tend to ridicule people as you do right now. You need to stop taking the slightest hint of negativity or criticism as a personal attack on you or an insult to your hack, because believe me, it's not. I think what you've created here is incredible, and at least in my case, all I've ever tried to do was enjoy it. I just don't happen to agree with all of your decisions and design choices. If you don't like criticism, that's one thing, but you definitely don't need to be so toxic over it. Being a romhack developer doesn't make you superior over others, nor does it give you any kind of special pass to be a complete jerk to other people. And just because you created it, that doesn't mean you have the right to tell us how to play.

You need to install Wine as well, not something out of date. The error log you attached can be used with a Google search to see what versions of Wine are updated enough to expose the Operating System calls that the program needs to infer display resolution. https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=142603&sid=e72c577c65a41ca794479ade5ee55b2c#p142603

I have a question. I'm incredibly new to romhacking and just downloaded SkyTemple. All I want to modify in this romhack is that I want to turn off exp share for inactive teammates as well as making gummies not as overpowered as they seem to be in this rom. I'd also like to make exp gain generally a bit slower. I've just finished Drenched Bluff and I'm already level 10 which is way higher of a level than I was when I played the vanilla game years ago. I don't know what to touch in SkyTemple to accomplish this?

Imagine adding Shiny Hunting endgame to then tell people that Shinies are easy to obtain lol. Use this 100% recruitment chance cheat, it will crash the game, I made sure it did. 1/256 with so little restrictions is nothing. After Darkrai you can literally get items that recruit an enemy on the spot, recruit Mew that can get an instant recruit move through a password, finish the game to obtain a 100% recruitment chance item, and more. Here you are just persuading yourself with excuses to cheat and also spreading misinformation, which is not only insulting my work but also putting a bad light on something for no good reason. Please refrain from doing that in the future.

I think not. Manually making things requires a laundry list of considerations to be done right, and you likely don't fully understand what all the values need to be. Use the encounter database, and compare the verbose report to what you're manually making.

That's fair. In the time since I posted this, I've already got a working generator that produces actual legal mons. Except for Meowth. Works on others. But not Meowth. Every time I try to gen a Meowth, it defaults to thinking that it's supposed to be the Egg Pokémon Present Meowth and insists that the fateful encounter flag should be enabled. Even though the exact same PSID and IVs work on others. (Yes, I also made sure the other checks were correct.) Oddly enough, if I set the Met at level to 0, it accepts the Meowths as legal too. I think it might be a bug with PKHeX. I double and triple checked my gen method.

PKHeX is open source; reference the source code. Nobody is going to write you a plaintext novel on how each is generated when the source code already provides the start->finish logic. PKHeX/PKHeX.Core/Legality/Encounters/Templates at master · kwsch/PKHeX

Shiny Pokemon are THAT difficult to obtain? Psh... now I feel completely justified in using a 100% recruit chance cheat to get Shiny Magikarp when I played the game for the first time. That's insane, dude. Unless you explicitly tell people in the game, you're gonna disappoint and waste a ton of people's time.

I have a project in mind. In scope, it's rather ambitious. I wish to recreate Pokemon generations 1-5 in Minecraft. But more than that, I want the mod I'm building to be able to export a 100% valid readable save that can be loaded into an emulator or cartridge, and pick up right where you left off with no errors. Before you go and tell me that what I'm planning is insane and impossible... Trust me... I'm aware. For now, all I need is this: PKHeX is able to check a game and a Pokemon, and generate every possible Pokemon of that type within that game. I want to understand that process. From RNG value to final mon. Every step in the code. Every step in the process. Everything else in the save export process can be figured out later. But the pokemon generation needs to be right from the start. And in order to do that, I need to understand how it does it. I've been studying save file formats and I understand a fair bit. I just need a point in the right direction. I'm starting in Generation 3 with the Gen 1 remakes. Kanto only for now. I might do the Sevii Isles later, but maybe not since I have other plans for how to handle later generation pokemon.

pkNX failed to open the game error
Kaphotics replied to Cex's topic in ROM - Switch Discussion & Help
Connect online to Nintendo's servers and download the latest game patch. Dump the patch contents, same as you did for the base ROM. Then merge the two folders so that there is only one romfs and exefs. -
Sorry i dont to be a burden but how i patch it?
