That's exactly why i've not turned my WiFi on to check, if i'm banned nothing will change that.

However if i'm not and progress is made figuring out what exactly is flagging a 3DS for a ban, I can then potentially do something about it before going online again. At that point ill either find out i'm banned or got lucky.

This might well end up been like the Xbox 360, by that i mean if you have a console hacked to run unsigned code it has to stay offline. Jtag / RGH hacked Xbox 360's got banned before they even finished connecting to Xbox Live. If you wanted the best of both worlds with the Xbox 360 you had two consoles, one legit and one hacked.

Owners of Nintendo consoles have had it great for well over the last decade, the DS, Wii and Wii U to present are a free for all as far as hacks and homebrew go, you can do what you want with no consequences.

The 3DS has been a free for all until now, I dont think anyone actually expected Nintendo to care at this point, however it appears they do.

We always knew this was gonna happen eventually though... I figured this would happen eventually, but who knows what'll happen next, maybe they'll eventually stop caring. But that's just me talking out of my butt, so who knows, maybe they've gone back to their old selves again (remember, they used to be like this).

  2. People are already on that, @St. GIGA, multiple consoles have been unbanned through this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/all-3-methods-to-get-unbanned-from-recent-ban-wave.450679/page-6
Someone unbanned through this method unlisted on the front page: https://gbatemp.net/threads/all-3-methods-to-get-unbanned-from-recent-ban-wave.450679/page-6#post-6880497
Uncertain how long they'll last though. There are reports of even unmodded consoles getting banned through this banwave. :S

It shouldn't be the end of event collecting, people would have to play on a totally legit 3DS, then place the game cart in a hacked 3DS to dump the save / extract the events. The legit 3DS would be non the wiser.

Sadly it's likely a lot of people who do contribute events are banned, plus it could well make it harder if people are region spoofing to obtain certain events. Then to top it all of people would need two 3DS's to contribute an event.

I guess it's too soon to say for sure though, that's one way how i see it could work though.

It'd be fine if that 3DS had the internet switch off in the first place, but who knows? Plenty of them must've escaped the ban that way, but we can't know for sure until we have proof.

  4. I've been working on this little project for a day or so, & it looks like there's gonna be one heck of a wild goose chase to get all the info together for this.
Me & @theSLAYER have been talking about it for around the same time (we had been wondering if one existed, & it didn't, so I thought "Wynaut make one?"
I already have the majority of info ready for Brendan's team (& no, I'm not making the same mistakes TPCi did with his team).

Anyways, if you guys want the current version of the PWT (It's currently based on the VCS2012 Junior Division Challenge PWT ULed by @evandixon), I can post it, but only if there's enough interest for this to go ahead. Just let us know if you want to join in in this effort, via posting or PM.

Some genderless Pokemon in the Mystery Dungeon have genders for all intents and purposes, including a certain character from Explorers of Sky (spoilers):

      Reveal hidden contents

Celebi. Everyone calls her a "she", and she's in love with Grovyle (despite denying it).

I call Mew a "she" because... (PSMD spoilers)

      Reveal hidden contents

Mew, the player's partner, was reborn as a starter Pokemon. While the English translation does its very best to avoid gendered pronouns, the French translation (and others, can't remember which ones though) can't avoid gender, so they assume the player to be male and the partner to be female.

I had a little doubt, actually, (since I haven't gotten to the epilogue in my French playthrough yet) but I looked it up, and Mew's also directly referred to  as female. "Elle est adorable. ... C'est une autre personne... Ce n'est pas la Mew des temps enciens non plus...". I bolded the parts that indicate gender. If Mew was truely genderless, it would be referred to using male pronouns.

We all know the truth, Celebi. Stop hiding him, because we all know about the relationship. And plus, if it was truly genderless, we would be using neuter pronouns (it/itself/whatever).

    @Kaphotics and @BlackShark

do either of you have the original unedited ones?
The link inside is dead :/

edit: It's okay now, I think TCRF copy is the original one

It turns out that the edits @BlackShark made to them were unnecessary. I found that out when I was comparing the data to the data of the released WCS2012 tourneys on this site. I've already made pwt files that remove the unnecessary testing text, ready to challenge. I haven't gone through the toned-down ones yet though... I'll send them here in due time (They use the actual World Championship music & announcer/win/lose texts now. Some of them didn't, & some allowed dupe pokes/items when the real championship didn't). Also, the Masters Division one banned the use of Transform instead of Sky Drop :S. It seems that the WCS2012 (& WCS2013) itself also banned the use of Sky Drop, but they forgot to do that when they released the pwt files online.

I'll be done with finals after next week Wednesday. There's still plenty of mons usable in XY even if your choice megas are not, unfortunately.

Also SM does allow Mega Metagross and Glalie, whenever you may want to get that. They're not the best of games either, however.

I know. Thunder Wave's down to 90% accuracy, Dark Void's been nerfed, & plenty of other things I can't seem to comprehend with :S

  8. Which Pokémon do you think is better? Mew or Mewtwo?

Mew has an excellent array of attacks & can learn some which Mewtwo cannot learn (& can unleash Z-Moves in Gen VII)

Meanwhile, Mewtwo has not one, but 2 badass Mega Evolutions (the only other poke with 2 Megas is Charizard), meaning they both sit in a class of their own as far as Megas are concerned.

Tell us which one YOU like better in the comments, if you wish to that is...

Seeing as the devil supposedly has the ability to cause plagues, poison, rains of fire, disease, pain, healing, etc. his signature move is probably metronome.
Thus it could be concluded that Togepi (having horns on his head and the capability to use metronome) is probably the devil

That's just anticlimactic, but the thing is, Togepi falls under the same category as Vivillon does in this case. Just because Togepi has horns (oh wait, they aren't even real horns :P) doesn't mean they make it the devil in any way, shape, or form unless it's been proven that it either is the devil or has been possessed by the devil.

There is no devil, so Vivillon can't be the devil.

Technically, according to biblical philosophy, the devil DOES exist, but is an invisible entity waiting for just the right moment to strike the world with it's pure terror (& with a lot of zombies in his force (& who knows? The devil probably has a signature move of his own, just we don't know what it is).
