That would be correct. There were some issues with languages in the very early versions of Trigger's PC. (If I recall it had to do with transferring between the Gamecube and GBA games.)

I found those Pokemon, when transferred to Emerald will just turn into bad eggs and no ones that had no language anymore just didn't show up when I tried to migrate them.

  2. I just grabbed all of my DS games. I have so many memories with the Ranger games. I remember the original was so much harder than Almia. I only played it twice but it remains one of my favorite games. I got my wisdom teeth removed the day I got the game so I didn't remember half the game the first time I played it. Sadly I missed out on the event because my mother didn't wanna alter the internet security. Which I found out later, wasn't needed. I eventually grew to hate the Alamos Darkrai because I was so pissed off that I missed out on it.

Red Rescue Team remains one of my top favorite games of all time. I played the demo back in 2007. I actually didn't like it at first. I went back later when I got money. I don't remember where or how but I'll always be grateful I bough that game. I've been playing RRT off and on ever since. I spent my entire summer in 2007 playing RRT. I managed to get my hands on the strat guide and that made it a lot easier to recruit Pokemon and unlock post-game dungeons. I started work on getting every legendary in 2010 and in 2013, work on getting all the adventure log entries. I never found that blasted Munchlax but other than that, I need to make every Pokemon leader. I'm saving it for last. I have every single Pokemon recruited. I want to do the adventure log in explorers of T/D/Sky but I haven't played them since 2012. I always enjoyed them but not as much as RRT.

I'm not ever going to sell my games again. You always end up with no money and no games and I always regret it. I'm going to get a Japanese 3DS and buy the missing games from my collection. I'm buying all of the games in every language. I like having multiple carts, including dupes. I always make new saves but sometimes I like to make 100% save and with gen 4 onwards, I like the date feature and I like keeping my oldest/original saves.

  3. I have a pretty good memory of my entire Pokemon history but a lot of it isn't connected. It's more of just a random collection of barely connected stories and occurrences.

For example. I once found a shiny Weepinbel in my Japanese Soul Silver. I used an Action Replay code that makes people shiny on it and it became un-shiny. Later down the line, similar to Ammako: I was breeding my Weepinbel with my Ditto and using AR codes to breed Belsprout and make it shiny. One time, I saved the game and kept re-hatching the same eggs to see if I'd get different natures. Eventually I stopped using the AR code because my L and R buttons were broken so the code was super hard to use. One of them kept hatching shiny and I embarrassingly took longer than I should have to find out it was a real shiny.

For some reason I always used to keep my Pokemon untouched. Part of it is just because I enjoy raising Pokemon to 100 but it's always sad watching them inch closer and closer to 100 and you can no longer enjoy raising them.

Looking back at it, honestly I think X/Y were really underwhelming. The games themselves were fine, but there was -nothing- to do once you beat the Elite Four. Sure you could get Zygarde, roaming legendary bird and Mewtwo, but after that, if you weren't interested in competitive battling, you were out of luck.

Sun/Moon were coming out and I honestly wasn't so hyped for them, The visuals are great and everything, but I really don't like the direction they've been taking the series. I wasn't the biggest fan of mega-evolution in Gen. VI, but I liked it still to some extent and it doesn't bother me all that much. Even though X/Y were a bit lackluster and needed more post-game content, the games were pretty good in their own right,

I had to trim it down a bit but I couldn't agree with those words more.

I'm going to spend the next day or two trying to write down all of my Pokemon memories and how I got into the series. Everything that I can remember and I'll try to string it together as best as I can. Prepare for a pretty long post. I'm very good at rambling.

As for what I like about the games? Wow, as soon as I was about to answer that. There's a dozen things I would say. I'm a collector at heart. I'm a videogame collector in general. I collect promo displays and strategy guides, figures, etc. So collecting Pokemon fits right in. I've always been a competitionist. I've been trying to get 3/4/5* trainer cards in all of the games. I've currently hit a brick wall in Fire Red. I beat the Elite 4 200 times, hatched 300 eggs but I can't connect 3 GBA's at once and play jumping minigames or eat berries in Dodrio berry picking. (I can't find out if you these points you need have to be in one sitting or across several games)

I've made somewhere around 7 living dexes. I have several in the works and it depends if you consider every Pokemon in Red Rescue Team being recruited is a living dex, etc.

I enjoy collecting event Pokemon, shiny hunting and ribbon collecting. Right now, I've been playing Platinum and working on SteamRoller, my future Ribbon Master Suicune.
Ribbons have always been something I was interested in. Ever since Platinum. I wanted to get into that resort and my Swellow was my PG ribbon collector. Several months ago, I was talking on Serebii and somehow ribbon collecting came up and I was linked to an amazing guide by a fellow named Mockturne. I've been pretty much hooked on it since.

    Spoiler

My OG. For some reason I never went and got the resort ribbons or the days of the week ones. It may be too late to get Swellow all the ribbons but I can still get all/most from here on out.

My shiny Suicune and my English Colosseum E-reader Scizor. I have the English E-reader Mareep, Togepi, a Wish Bagon and Rocks Metang. I thought it would be fun to use Pokemon with stories or unique Pokemon.

I'll try to write out the rest of the stories I can remember and organize them later. I just really wanted to post now for some reason. I like Ammako's picture so I'll share one of my own as well.

    Spoiler

I have more, but it would take forever to take pics. GameCube, N64, Wii and Wii/3DS VC games, etc. Like I said before. Collector at heart.

but I propose and prefer the option of a custom tool with identical generation methods used in the distro carts.

See, I personally would love nothing more than something like that. A fan made tool to get new events, the same way as the originals.

1 minute ago, Invader TAK said:

ROCKS Metang would be cool (considering it ties into Gale of Darkness, easily my favorite of the console games), but if it isn't generated the exact same way as the 10th Anniversary Pokemon, then I wouldn't modify this ROM to distribute that. And that's provided we can modify the ROM.

If that's the case, then I'd be fine with an unofficial tool. Just make versions for GBA, DS and GameCube/Wii as well.

Yeah, I don't know if somebody actually mentioned it or if I interpreted somebody as mentioning it and it's half a figment of my imagination. But at this point, I seriously hope there's a fan made tool that injects event Pokemon into your saves. And creates them exactly like the originals did. Hopefully with a region free switch so I can get cross region events.

I'm mainly interested just in case we can't get any more 10th Anniversary distro ROMs. And since it looks like all 10th Anniversary distro carts generate Pokemon the exact same way (regardless of the various OTs, IDs and hold items), we might not need other 10th Anniversary distro ROMs. Plus having an all-in-one 10th Anniversay distro ROM would be amazing.

This whole time I thought you wanted to change one of the distro devices to distribute other event Pokemon. Like Rocks Metang for example. Or did you want to do that as well?
I uh, have a hard time following peoples posts sometimes. Sometimes I just kinda read through everything in a hurry and re-read it a few times later.

I just like interesting and unique Pokemon. Or Pokemon with a story. What's more interesting than "I took a modified 10th anniversary distro cart and got some Japanese 10th anniv Pokemon."? Seriously.

The Scizor is from Colosseum. I'm gonna use a gold bottle cap on it and an ability capsule and it will be a slightly less terrible Scizor with a lot of ribbons and a story!

    Here's the deal:

I recently started Black 2, and was hoping to be able to connect my flashcard Black to use Unova Link. This wasn't the case. So now, I figured why not ask here.

Basically, I'd like pkm files of each of N's pokemon [preferably at the levels they were caught at] to inject into my Black save to trade onto Black 2, if at all possible.

I thought you could just catch them at will in Black and White 2. Is that not how they worked? If they were event Pokemon, wouldn't they be in the event gallery? I've had an interest in obtaining them as well.

This be that whole research thing we kept saying they need to do.

    not possible.

Thanks for confirming this. I remember downloading some files from the forums somewhere that had some Pokemon in a "Probably fake" folder. Including a ton of 10th anniversary Pokemon and a shiny Rocks Metang. I don't remember the others were.

InvaderTak seems really interested in getting these distro devices to distribute different Pokemon. Would it be possible to get one to distribute Pokemon to different regions? Like Japanese 10th anniv Pokemon. That would be pretty cool for personal use.

Speaking with @Bond697, it looks like the PCNY trash bytes are also THUMB code.  This tell us that the pokemon were DEFINITELY generated by a GBA, most likely a multiboot rom.  Which makes sense since they probably choose PCNYa, b, c, d.  The thing we need to find out next is the ID incrementing, as we know the main rom does count/track how many pokemon are transmitted.

I'm not really sure if this helps at all but I learned not to assume bits of info are just worthless. Some of the PCNY Pokemon I found are PCNYc, but most are PCNYd if I remember correctly. So wouldn't that mean there were more distribution terminals?

I need at least one more ROCKS Metang Gen 3 file to even be able to say if what we have is legal.

Man, that's gonna be so hard to find. I barely stumbled across the first one I found. I didn't even think there were any left in gen 3.

Did you ever look into the PCNY Pokemon that I found? I'm pretty sure they're legit but I also can't look at trash bytes or interpret what they mean, even if I could.

  10. I have the worst luck ever with this emulator. Nothing I do seems to work. It runs slow, it doesn't save, it crashes, the speed up button, etc, doesn't work.

I'm trying to make ribbon master Pokemon and I don't want to have to constantly rely on other people to help me get the wifi ribbon. Using a save editor, even as a last resort feels dirty. I wanna do this legit.

Would anybody be able to set up the emulator and settings and send it to me in a zipped file. That I'd be able to un-pack and set up with minimal effort? I found a complete Platinum save online. As soon as I've bred/caught my Pokemon, I can easily use a save editor to inject them into the save and then use them as needed.

I have little to no patience for BS as it is and all this program has done is waste hours of my time. If anybody would be willing to help, I'd be very grateful. I could try to help you out on your ribbon quest as well. I have a lot of gen 3 stuff that will make it a breeze and I could send you my gen 4 competitive Pokemon once I've bred/caught them.

Make sure you have the current version of PKHeX and not one that's really outdated. Also, make sure the dropdown menu next to the file name when you're selecting your save says "All Files" or "All File Types" etc. If you're still having trouble I can try and help you troubleshoot via PM, because it works for me.

    Worked like a charm, thanks!

  12. 1 minute ago, Deoxyz said:

    Use PKHeX

That doesn't work either. I tried to open a Fire Red save and when I load up the folder that my saves/Pokemon are in: It's empty. No saves and no Pokemon files. I have no means of backing up gen 4, 5 or 6 saves so PKHeX is worthless to me.

I can at least use R4's for gen 4-5. Barely.

    Spoiler

Mine freezes constantly for no reason. The admin of the website that sold it to me said to get a new SD card. It's only 6 months old, I bought it for the R4 when my other SD cards didn't work. What? Am I supposed to buy a new R4 every 3 months? Yeah, it's kinda un-related but that's been pissing me off.

    Sorry, I found the error.
It was my Tool. Looks like it has some issues with files starting with 0.
So some PIDs couldn't be recognized. Anyway... Thanks to @BlackShark for pointing this out.
I haven't checked much further since these are a lot of files but all 399 Mews seem to be fine! :)
    I will upload them soon.

    MYSTRY MEWs.zip

What format are these in? The files say .pk3. But I was trying to inject them into a single Fire Red save and I can't do it. I tried A-save, I tried the Colosseum and XD: Editor and I even tried Pokegen and none of them work.

I have some bad news regarding those Trash Bytes.
I was talking with Sabresite and he was talking with Bond697 in turn.
I don't want to go too much into detail and would like to leave it to them if they want to make a public statement...

It looks like we might not be able to reconstruct the missing trash bytes data for the 14 missing Mystry Mews.
I want to apologize for raising hopes at this point regarding this, I wanted to try my best to make this happen.

However I have a solution which I would like to suggest, how we still might be able to complete this.
Earlier in the Trash Bytes research we figured out that transferring back and forth between Colosseum&XD erases the Trash Bytes of 3rd Gen Event Pokémon.
This means in other words that an 3rd Gen Event Pokémon isn't necessarily illegal if it doesn't has any Trash Bytes.
This could be a solution in case if we are not able to find the missing Mews.

I'm not too sad about this, honestly. It's only 14 out of a few hundred. I'm grateful for what we have and who knows, maybe somebody will donate the missing Mews someday. I'm also grateful you guys are able to even look into this stuff. We're infinitely better off than we would be without people like you guys. You can't really say never with the miracles like  we had with wonder cards.

This might also be un-related. You've seen Insane Nutters gen 3 events save. Well, anything listed on there as being given to me by my friend Big Mike has been sent to Colosseum. So for example: The "Mitsuruni/Jungle Tour" Celebi would no longer have trash bytes. Also, does this mean Agate/Ageto Celebi wouldn't have trash bytes? I know some of them are sent directly to Colosseum.

Nintendo dev/prototype cartridge market is pretty big in forums for collectors and most of them have the tools in order to inject roms into the cartridges. So, by having the rom available online, it should be pretty easy for some of them to try and sell more fake distribution cartridges to people who have no idea about the scene release of the gba distribution rom(s).

Outlandish claims should really be backed up with proof. I have reason to believe that altering these carts is harder than you think. Like we said before. It's the responsibility of the people buying these carts to know what they're buying. It's 2016, these should have been released a long time ago and it's just halting progress when you don't.

With ajxpk wanting to research trash bytes and people talking about creating distribution tools. I think somebody said something about using Triggers PC as a distribution method for example.

It would also be completely unbelievable if now that the cart has been dumped, 2 dozen distro carts suddenly showed up on Ebay.

    14 minutes ago, ajxpk said:

I actually don't really see any devaluation.
A cartridge is a cartridge and dumped ROM is a dumped ROM.
It's just my opinion. But I believe collectors would still pay a lot to have the real cartridge.
At least that's what I believe... Everything else regarding this is already said I think.
I'm actually happy that this finally happened.

Me, being one of those collectors. They hold just as much value as they ever have.

    6 minutes ago, Deoxyz said:

Is there a main place where all/many distribution roms are available? When I looked for DS distro roms a year or two ago, it was a scavenger hunt with a few roms here and there in obscure places.

You wouldn't happen to have any of those, would you? I've only managed to find 2 and currently can't dump my own. A PM with links would be greatly appreciated it you'd be willing/able to help.
