Uh, it doesn't sound like he owns an Action Replay. as the title states:

"How can I transfer save files from my R4DS flashcart into a copy of Pokemon Platinum without any devices?"

R4DS can utilize ARDS (cheats).

Or he can download the ROM for ARDS for R4DS!

All it need is to take our his SD card in the R4DS,

Than export the entire save as ARDS code (basically tick everything).

How ARDS functions is that first you have to take out the ARDScart,

Put in the commercial Cart (so that it can recognise what game you want to cheat)

Than he chooses what cheats for the game,

than take out the commercial cart and put in the ARDS cart,

Than put back the commercial cart.

These steps can be cut down by just choosing the game and the cheat,

Than insert the commercial game card.

By this method even if he is using an ARDS ROM (which is running on his R4),

He'll only have to take it out and put in his Platinum to run.

If he want's the sav file for the ARDS (basically the code)

He can send me his sav and I can get it done for him,

So all he needs to do is to get the ARDS rom.

Alternatively, he is saying that his R4 can't detect his platinum sav file (no idea how that happened).

So I assume that if he creates a new game and sav, he can continue on it.

So basically just use the ARDS/Cheat in R4 to activate the code to replace his sav,

That should work too,

Though technically that isn't transfering the save to the commercial cart,

But just for him to be able to play on his R4

So my question now is that if you create a new game and sav (but you backed up the previous one), can you proceed on your R4?

OKAY, I have this idea.

If you can't detect the save on your R4DS,

Right click on your platinum rom, rename -> copy the name.

Than paste the name to your sav file (of course without the .nds).

Sometimes R4DS has glitches.

If it doesnt work,

1.Open Pokesav for you .sav file.

2.Export the Entire file as a code file.

3.Have the Code file in your ARDS

(which is a rom in your R4DS, google to download it cause no posting of roms)

(under options, uncheck save codelist options,

you must get your ARDS to run after you remove your R4 cart,

Get it and you will understand

It is something like choose the code before you switch to your platinum cart.)

4.Run the code for your platinum,

And if successful, it will overwrite your platinum save,

As long as it is saved.

This is a theory, try at your own risk.

Best if the save file is a dummy save (means its not important).

After I used the program to see all "210" so that I can go and initiate the nat dex,

I have some problems using the dex.

When I scroll to chatot it hangs,

and something else to,

But I don't remember.

It was done on USA platinum.

Hello. I've edited some pokemon in pokesav for Diamond and Pearl and saved them as .pkm files. When I try to load them in the storage of a .sav file in pokesav for Platinum it works fine. Then I use the backup loader to restore the save on my Platinum with the .sav file containing the pokemon, but they do not turn up in the storage boxes in-game, just empty space where they're supposed to be. What do I do? I do not have a pair of DS:es so I cannot just trade them over.

Okay this is what I reckon the problem to be.

Even though you already loaded the .pkm files,

What you did was to click cancel to leave the storage mode.

IF you clicked cancel instead of OK,

All the changes made in storage mode won't be there.

Or perhaps you didn't save the entire SAV,

or you didn't restore the correct edited SAV.

I tried something like this before (because I can't trade to myself)

So I know it works, or at least when I did it.

Anyway,

No matter how you change the sprite, if it isnt holding the correct plate,

It will be normal type.

It can stay in curse sprite (but normal type) as long as its ability isn't "multitype"

Is there any way to hex edit it to curse type?

Regarding Arceus Plates,

What is the factor of amplifcation of a types' moves,

Like Dragon Fang gives Dragon type moves around a 10% boost,

But what about Draco plate?

Apparently When I used the hex editor,

changing the value to 4C worked, but changing it to 4D also worked!

The value can be changed to more than one value,

So perhaps if we change the value to a certain value (which I haven't figured out yet),

The type on the summary screen may remain as ??? instead of Normal,

and the sprite will be ??? and not change (it's just a hypothesis).

Meanwhile its the HEX edited version of the Eigakan Arceus (credits to KELLY and NTR on the original),

CURSE FORM SPRITE appears when the values are changed to 4C, 4D, 4E and 4F (according to my testing)

(for some unknown reason, the 4C & 4E doesn't show the "apparently met" "fateful encounter" on summary.)

IT will be awesome if someone can EDIT pokesav to be able to change its type without the items being held,

Cause the pokemod isn't out yet.

It seems that as long as it isn't holding the correct plate,

The TYPE will be shown as NORMAL

(This happened when I changed the values to 51 and 5A, I think I got fighting and water type sprites)

I'll like to think it is an apricorn, compared to a berry!

(However if that area is the Mr PKMN house or whatsoever, it was a berry tree is Crystal.

I prefer the DPt version of berry trees and berry planting, compared to the one in the video.)

Um, it has always been restricted to the first Pokemon in your party. I'm not big on the overworld weather changing though. If I did have a Tyranitar following be, I'd get VERY bored of the same old effect over and over again.

Not to mention I'd feel bad for everyone else in the region having to deal with a sandstorm just because I let my Pokemon out of its ball. =P

Does anyone remember if a certain pokemon has an ability in the team, it will attract pokemon or stuff blablabla, known as the overworld abilities right.

Imagine if it's restricted to the first pokemon now (the one who follows),

And if you tyranitar/kyogre/groudon, it changes the weather!

I obtained the edge of the night sky Jirachi through the mystery gift,

And downloaded the wc for Pichu.

When I open the save file on my USA Platinum,

It says "Apparently met with a fateful encounter" or something like that.

When it's legit, there isn't supposed to be the "apparently" right?

So what's wrong?

EDIT: I think I know why,

It's Because the TID/SID isn't the same as my TID/SID.

A while back (when it was 11pm, June 18, Singapore) I used the a japanese platinum to go into the Nintendo WiFi (using my wireless connection), and I was able to get the Jirachi!

This is because at that point, its 12am in Japan!

So as long as you have a wireless connection compatible with Nintendo WiFi,

and a Jap cart for DPt, you'll be able to download your own Jirachi.

EDIT: Both Jap and USA game saves is compatible with each other.

I'm waiting for the PCPichu, which will be out probably in the afternoon, (its 1am here).
