Sorry for the double-post. Here's the latest I've got on the situation. First off, I've updated Code Manager. I'm running it at v1.25, which I believe is the latest version. Secondly, I've managed to update the USB drivers, so it reads my AR now (since I had been having issues due to a change in the drivers between Code Manager v1/1.05 and 1.25). However, I'm still getting the 'not a firmware file' error when I try to update the AR itself. Now I know I have the right firmware (1.71, for the regular AR DS and not the AR DSi), I might try re-downloading it just in case. Could it be possible that I need another older firmware file as an intermediate step in-between 1.52 and 1.71 (something that 1.52 would recognize as a firmware update, but could be updated to 1.71)?
-
Like I said, I'm running on the theory that it might possibly be because the Code Manager is just as out of date as the AR itself, so maybe if I got a better version of that, it would recognize the new firmware. I'll report back later if it works or not... EDIT: Okay, it didn't quite work... I updated Code Manager, but it doesn't seem to recognize the AR now (probably because of the old firmware). So either I'm totally screwed now (I still have the disk, so I can put it back to v1/1.05, but then Code Manager won't load the new firmware), or I need to find a middle-ground firmware that both versions of Code Manager will recognize (odds probably really low on that).
-
I'm not sure about how old it actually is. I've had it at least as long as Diamond/Pearl have been out. ....No slot for the cartridge...? I have no idea how that would even work. It has a slot for the actual DS cart to insert into, if that's what you mean.
-
Yes, I unzipped the firmware file, but it doesn't work. I get a 'not a firmware file' error, despite me downloading it from the official site. Again, not sure if it's because the Code Manager is equally out of date or what.
-
Well I dragged the update to the white bar on the top where the site said to, not the codelist. I'll give it another try... What 'button that saves your changes' do you mean, though, if I'm not dragging it to exactly the right spot? Also it looks like despite trying to update both Code Manager and the AR itself (and it seemingly running updates on both), neither one of them changed versions. As stated before, the AR remained v1.52, the Code Manager says it's v1.05). I'm going to see if downloading a more recent version of Code Manager works...
-
Well I decided to try to update my AR's firmware so I could use it (sooner or later) on Black/White, but I ran into a couple of issues. 1: When I tried to update via the Code Manager.....it didn't seem to do anything (I don't know if Code Manager itself updated, nothing seemed to change there aside from basically reinstalling itself). The AR's version number did not change. 2: When I went to manually update the firmware here, I followed the directions and when I dragged the firmware file to the Code Manager, it said 'not a firmware file' and did nothing. I'm a bit stumped at this point. Do I need to re-update my Code Manager (which when I say to update it says no updates found, despite the DS's firmware), or is my AR DS kinda stuck? (it's v1.52 by default, and after the first attempted update it still says that)

I don't think the Celebi was shiny, just the legendary beasts. It would be nice to have codes for their Wonder Cards, though...
-
Well I'm doing this directly to my party, not using the PC at all. I wonder if this is where the problem is... EDIT: Doesn't seem to want to work for either my party or anything in the PC. On occasion it does turn one of my party Pokémon into a Bad Egg (of course, I haven't saved so everything's okay). Maybe I'm just an idiot and typoed something, or maybe there's a reason these codes apparently disappeared...
-
Hm... I'm having a problem with the IV mod code. The L+R part to get the vitamins works, but the actual modifier doesn't seem to want to work. Then again, I'm trying to use it on Pokémon I've transferred over through the Pal Park, so maybe it won't work on stuff that isn't from the game...? Also I'm trying to use this on Pokémon in my party, which is how I assume the code works.
-
Well I'm not sure the range is quite that simple. Here, I'll link you to the topic where I found those codes: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?7071-Platinum-Rebattle-Codes You can see where the same block of code in the Rebattle Uxie/Azelf code that caused the exact same problem was changed from an 08 to an EC to fix the problem, so it may not be as simple as cycling through 2X. Unfortunately I don't know if an equal jump in number would be required (which would make it 10A) or a different variable.

Okay, so if my calculations are correct, then this should be what I'm looking for: 94000130 FFFB0000 B2111880 00000000 2000E71C 000000FF 0000E71C 07D00003 D2000000 00000000 So if I'm right, this should get me Beyond the Sea, Yellow Forest, Rally, Sightseeing, Winner's Path, and Amity Meadow as well as the two opening courses: Refreshing Field and Noisy Forest. I can use this code at the very beginning of the game and collect all the rest of the courses as normal. And while the Darkrai and Cresselia codes are just matters of event flags, the Mesprit code has a rather critical problem to it where it can cause issues with the Battle Area (like your Rival disappearing and other big problems). The part of the code I have in bold is where I think the problem is (that was where the problem was in a similar code for Uxie and Azelf which WAS eventually fixed).
-
Ah, thank you... I wasn't sure if there was a regional component to the codes or not. I shouldn't have any worries now, I guess... Now, there's some other stuff I have questions about, but for the most part they aren't for HG/SS so I can't post them here. If you would be so nice as to lend a hand, here are some other codes that I have questions about
-
Okay, I want to double-check something. I want to get certain special Event Pokémon, but the first post is kinda confusing as to what codes are used in what way. Let me post the codes I think are the ones I'm looking for: Night Sky Jirachi Shiny Raikou Shiny Entei Shiny Suicune Now the two major points I want to make sure of are these: First, are these codes for the US version of HG/SS (because it probably won't do me much good otherwise) and secondly, are these the codes to obtain these Pokémon via Mystery Gift (and not an outright party edit)? If these are the right codes, what do I need to press to activate them? Also I would like the code for the special Celebi that goes with the Legendary Beasts, but there's a couple of different Celebi codes so I'm not sure which is which (also is the same Celebi that can be transferred to B/W like the Beasts the same one that triggers the time travel event?).
-
Okay, I've pretty much searched the whole board trying to find these codes to make sure I use them properly and don't screw anything up. However they seem to have vanished without a trace (including from the official code posts). I have some codes for modifying IVs of a Pokémon you've already caught in D/P and Platinum Diamond/Pearl Platinum Now how these two are supposed to work...I think...is that you hit L+R to generate 32 of each of the EV vitamins and then you get rid of however many so that the number of the vitamins matches the IVs you want (like 31 Carbos = 31 Speed IV, leaving them at 32 iirc = 0 to whatever IV), and then Start+Select to actually set the IVs on the selected Pokémon (though should I be looking at their status screen or just at the party when I do that?). If I'm wrong, I don't want to find out the hard way, and if there's any other odd trick to this code, I'd surely like to know. Also is there a code like this for HG/SS? And while I'm at it, there's some Rebattle Legendary codes I have some questions about too. These codes seem to have some sort of glitch to them that make them not good to use right now... Rebattle Mesprit - Platinum Rebattle Cresselia - Platinum Rebattle Darkrai - Platinum The Mesprit code apparently screws up the Battle Area, the Cresselia and Darkrai codes apparently retrigger parts of their scenarios, so I'm guessing there are event flags reset that don't need to be. I think I've identified the problem with the Mesprit code (it's the same part of the code that had affected the rebattle code for Uxie and Azelf before someone fixed it). Not sure where the problem is on the other two. Unlock all PokeWalker Courses - HG/SS ...I feel like I'm asking for trouble with this code... Is there a version of this code that ONLY gives me the Event-Only courses (minus Night's Sky Edge) and Beyond the Sea? (or better, the wonder cards for said event courses so I only need this code for Beyond the Sea) Is someone able to help me get these things right?
-
Well the Mesprit code I think I see where the problem is, but I don't know enough about coding to be able to solve it myself: 94000130 FFF30000 B2101D40 00000000 2000103B 00000026 D2000000 00000000 That's the part of the code where the Uxie/Azelf code seemed to have its problem, so I can only assume that's where the problem lies in the Mesprit code. However someone with much better skills at this would have to figure out what the right code should be (and if I'm right). As for the other codes that seem to have some odd gremlins in them... Guess we'll just have to see if someone can sort those issues out. Personally I'm waiting for all the codes to be confirmed safe before I use them, just to make sure I don't screw anything up after seeing what problems have been caused so far by them.
-
Yeah, would be nice to have a fixed version of the Mesprit code. Probably just the exact same coding problem as with Uxie and Azelf. As for the Darkrai and Cresselia codes, perhaps there's just one event flag too many triggered? Surely they probably could be respawned without triggering parts of their scenario (like the Lunar Wing with Cresselia).

Going to just start anew on this one, since my previous request went through a few edits as I found things... I'm looking to rebattle a few Legendaries for the sake of getting them in HG/SS (despite some of them being in the game in one form or another). I've previously abused Emerald's cloning glitch, but I want a fresh attempt since the Legendaries I have in Gen 3 are not particularly impressive in nature or stats. Of course, there's also quite a bit of stuff in Gen 4 that are needed in HG/SS too. Here's what I'm looking for: From Ruby/Sapphire (not Emerald): Kyogre/Groudon Rayquaza Regirock Regice Registeel From Diamond/Pearl (Platinum is okay): Darkrai Shaymin Arceus This will at least be a really big start to my plans if anyone has such codes.

REQUEST: Pokémon Platinum (U) Action Replay Codes
NekoSabrina replied to Baka_Kyuubi84's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Are there Re-battle codes for any of the Legendaries in Platinum? Specifically, I guess I'm looking for Shaymin, Darkrai, and Arceus (however if anyone knows codes for D/P for those three, I will accept those as well). -
Pardon the double-post, but I'm going to try using the aforementioned IV modifier. I just have one quick question, though. Does this code work on things in the PC (ie put the hand cursor over them, hit start+select, look at their summaries), or do they have to be in the party for it to work?

REQUEST: Pokémon Platinum (U) Action Replay Codes
NekoSabrina replied to Baka_Kyuubi84's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
I'm gonna try re-requesting this, because I don't think anyone took note of it the last time I did. Buy any item at PokéMart Again, I know we have a whole bunch of pack modifiers, but I figure this would come in handy for someone looking for only one or two items or does not want to edit their entire pack (the regular items section being as huge as it is...). -
Well admittedly I didn't see that code, but I was looking for something rather simple like the wild IV modifier code, which is pretty straightforward in how it works. Pretty much just plug in the IVs you want and go. Or at the very least, something that doesn't involve messing around with items in your pack. I get a bit hesitant playing with things like that. I never know where in the pack said items might appear, so I don't want to overwrite something important or cause a duplication or anything (same reason I made the request to try to make a 4th gen version of buy any item from the PokéMart, but that seems to have been totally lost among other requests in that topic).
-
This is the wild IV modifier code from the main topic: 12073F50 0000201F 12073F66 0000201F 12073F7C 0000201F 12073F92 0000201F 12073FA8 0000201F 12073FBE 0000201F Now I know as one whole code it works, 'cause I've caught a couple of things with all 31s with it. However if I were to break it down into its individual components, what line affects what stat? I'm assuming HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, but it's just as likely that Speed and the special stats could be inverted. Also kinda wish there was a similar code for modifying the IVs on things you've already caught, but so far I have yet to see that...
-
I'm only looking for one Nature at this point, so I'm only using one code (Modest). Also the only other code I'd have on at the same time with this one is the 100% Catch code, and that didn't interfere with my other uses of the Nature codes.
-
I'm trying to use the Nature modifier codes, and I've run into some problems as of late. When I tested the code by trying to get a Jolly Heracross, it worked. It also worked with the natures I chose for Uxie, Azelf, and Giratina. However when I tried it with Mesprit, it didn't work the first time. After resetting to make sure the code was on, it worked. Now my problem is this. I'm trying to get Eevees of a certain nature in the Trophy Garden. However now when I try to use the codes, they aren't working at all! Is there some limitation to these codes that I don't know about?

REQUEST: Pokémon Platinum (U) Action Replay Codes
NekoSabrina replied to Baka_Kyuubi84's topic in RAM - NDS Cheats
Well for the part of the code that affects what Pokémon appear, the available digits are only 0-5 (though if Aipom has two slots, then I wonder what the coding is for Wurmple...not that it matters). To make Munchlax appear, you have to change the whole line from 0101010X to 02020202. I'm not sure if it got lost among other things, but I did have a request to see if there was a code for buying anything from a PokéMart. Mostly a convenience code, though (for the sake of not editing an entire pack for one item).
