Meowdoleon Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Some Pokemon are flagged as illegal in PKHeX, saying that they "Can't have ball for encounter type." Some other Pokemon aren't flagged as illegal, while they have the same type of ball.
Ruby Genseki Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 This doesn't seem to be an actual issue, just something about the PIDs. Have these Pokémon been edited? If so, they might have ended up with a PID that flags them as hatched Pokémon, and thus, they shouldn't have any other Ball than the generic regular one.
theSLAYER Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 @Meowdoleon hold control as you click the red flag, it'll give a more comprehensive legality breakdown.
Meowdoleon Posted August 28, 2017 Author Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) @Ruby Genseki No, they weren't modified in any way. @theSLAYER The met level of Magikarp is 8 and the Met level of Gyarados is 21. Edit: Also, I tried Rerolling the PID, it still flags it as illegal. Edited August 28, 2017 by Meowdoleon
Meowdoleon Posted August 28, 2017 Author Posted August 28, 2017 @wrathsoffire76 As you can see in the screenshots in the first post, Gyarados is in a Net Ball, Magikarp and Dewgong are in a Great Ball.
wrathsoffire76 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 But the Pal Park only allows Pal Park Balls or whatever they are called, right?
Meowdoleon Posted August 28, 2017 Author Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) "Despite the player in the Generation IV game catching the Pokémon again, its OT, ID number, and Poké Ball remain the same. Its friendship is reset to 70." https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pal_Park#Modifications_to_transported_Pok.C3.A9mon Edit: It may be worthwhile noting that if I modify the Ball to a Poké Ball, it does flags it as legal. If I try to put any other Ball, it will flags it as illegal. Edited August 28, 2017 by Meowdoleon
wrathsoffire76 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Hrmm, ok then @Kaphotics Can you shed some info on this?
theSLAYER Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 @Meowdoleon mind showing its capture details. pretty sure PKHeX thinks it's Gen 3 capture is invalid or something.
Meowdoleon Posted August 28, 2017 Author Posted August 28, 2017 What do you mean by the capture details?
Ruby Genseki Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 23 minutes ago, Meowdoleon said: What do you mean by the capture details? Gen 3 met place and level I guess. As I said, PKHeX is probably taking them as hatched Pokémon, hence they can't have any Ball other than the regular one. Of course, if it's true that they weren't modified at all, this might be an error with PKHeX itself.
Meowdoleon Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 They come from a save I deleted a long time ago to begin my FireRed game anew. I moved all my box to Platinum to safe-keep them. The exception would be Dewgong, which I transfered over my Platinum save because I didn't have any Dewgong in my Platinum pokedex. I unfortunately don't remember anything about their met place, but the met levels was the same as those that you can see in the screenshots. If it is a problem with the PID, then it would be necessary to change PKHeX recognition system to flags Pal Parks PID as fishy, instead of illegal, because there is a glitch with the ability system and the PID attributed. The way that I could verify this is by evolving my Magikarp, since it gives a correct PID upon evolving.
Ruby Genseki Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 So I take it they're just randomly fished Magikarp and Gyarados. Well, let's wait 'n see what Kaphotics says.
Meowdoleon Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 So, I just evolved my Magikarp, and it still flags it as illegal, so I guess it doesn't have to do with the ability system.
theSLAYER Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Just show me the second Tab the one that says met. (While you're at it, show me its moves too) I Wanna determine why it thinks it's hatched
Kaphotics Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Message shows it is matching to a static encounter, and that static encounter is a gift (which requires a standard Poké Ball). The best-match generator for gen3 has been altered to do the same collision detection (gift && ball not pokeball) as gen4: https://github.com/kwsch/PKHeX/commit/072f1ba83d965310b43ad916b3760e376f67f3f0#diff-611d41e12eb876fe009aa88436d0acf9R285 Should be resolved with the latest commits. 1 1
