Hi,

Bit of an odd request but I'm making a video on unreleased event items. The next one I'm covering is the Lock Capsule for HG/SS.

Naturally I'll need to edit my save to have it put in. If I presume correctly, I will need the wondercard data to unlock the event instead of just force injecting it in to my bag, correct?

If so, could you someone point me in the right direction or even a link to the wondercard itself?

Much appreciated in advance.

you probably could use a wondercard editor to create the wondercard,

then use pokesav/pokegen to inject it into your save.

yeah, receiving from the wondercard should trigger the correct flag.

In order to correctly unlock this event you need 2 DSes and 2 games. Game1 should contain a redistributable .pcd file (Gen4 Wondercard) of the Lock Capsule (you can create it with Pokemon Mystery Gift Editor), Game2 will receive the event via local wireless and will unlock an extra option in the Mystery Gift menu exclusively for the Lock Capsule.

Thanks guys! Never made a wondercard before. Should be interesting! Is there one already premade which I can inject? Might be easier and save me some hassle.

create a PCD/PGT, and import it your game.

It may seem tough at first, but it can be really easier.

We do not have any premade ones here.

Interesting. I'm just messing around with it now. I can't see an option for the Lock Capsule in the editor though.

Please refrain from double posting.

To the left hand side, on top of "Card Title",

there's an area that you did not fill up, called "Item".

The value should be "215" (based on here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_items_by_index_number_%28Generation_VI%29 )

If you don't indicate the value of the item, how does the game know what item to give? ><

I thought I had managed it until now, I've hit a snag. I've set the hex number to 215 as the list from Bulbapedia suggested but when I save the .pcd file and then reload it either in Mystery Gifts in PokéGen or back in to the Mystery Editor, it shows as blank.

I downloaded the Enigma stone for comparison purposes but the problem seems to be that the Mystery Gift editor is saving my Lock Capsule.pcd blank. I'm probably missing something really simple here.

Text is in Italian but you can change it, I recommend using the 1.4 beta3 version of Pokémon Mystery Gift Editor, it works better for Gen4 games.

You don't need a .pgt file for this event, a .pcd is enough :)

For some reason then pcd files I was saving were coming up blank.

You need to get it from HGSS through the relocator. Receiving it in BW directly through a hacked wondercard won't work. The relocator seems to set a flag to enable unlocking it.

Also, I managed to receive the Lock Capsule trhough a PCD event file (downloaded above) and the green NPC, saved and rebooted, but the menu doesn't appear in Mystery Gift as shown at 0:35 on this video.

EDIT: Actually it seems that I need to use the download play application, what is not possible on emulator, so I don't even need to continue trying to get this to work lel

Just noticed something weird in the video above.

First thing, when the person entered the Mystery Gift menu there's an option "View Lock Capsule Card". Normally it should say "View Card Album" or somethig like that, but it shouldn't mention the card even if you only have one.
And then the wondercard looks different to how wondercards in gen 4 normally look like, there's even an icon of the item. Other item wondercards don't have that.

I connected to Wiimmfi to get the wondercard myself and noticed that it got saved behind the regular wondercard slots. Normally the last slot is at 0xAD0C, however the Lock Capsule would get downloaded to 0xB064!

Trying to place any other card at this location would result in something that still looks like a Lock Capsule card.

So, did GF really implement a special wondercard slot for an item that they never made available? Lol.

Was this ever mentioned somewhere? Or is it something that the Wiimmfi stuff figured out but never brought to the public?

 

And unfortunately I also can't figure out the flags needed to make the capsule work on BW, lost my HGSS cards ages ago and Download Play won't work on Flashcards either.

So I got info regarding this.
It's not that Wiimmfi's wonder card is special or anything. What is important is the act of receiving it.
(or alternatively, injecting it into the correct spot, which can be done with BlackShark's code)

The person who shared these screenshots with me used the premade Lock Capsule above (instead of the Wiimmfi one),
then received it via Slot-2 Distribution.

Despite it being a regular looking card in code, it still became the fancy looking card, with the View Lock Capsule status text being there.

edit: For the record, the PCD above didn't do anything special. Didn't utilize a special type or anything.
Just switched the type to item mode and set the distributed item to Lock Capsule.
