Favna Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Bought a 2DS with Software version 9.4.0-12U I am unable to retract the save file. I cleared the cache and cookies in the browser. Any thoughts ?? My Browser version is 1.7552 ....... It would help if you'd say what DOES happen as well give an image of / text typeout of the files and folders on the root of your 3ds
Ahito95 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 RAM2Sav works if the last number of the firmware is -20, -21 or -22, -12 isn't compatible. I think you should be able to use Browserhax + svdt or Save Manager to dump/restore your save file
Favna Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 To slightly correct Ahito: Browserhax does works whatsoever minimum-9.8. Furthermore, call me stupid if I'm wrong, but I'm sure that each firmware has one specific revision number worldwide...
Ahito95 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Browserhax works on 9.0-10.1 but Nintendo can block it on 9.9-10.1 by forcing an update, he is on 9.4 so he should be able to use it but some browser versions aren't supported, I don't know if his version is ok or not for Browserhax, it should be ok. The last number of the firmware is updated only if you update your console via Internet, if you update via a game it isn't updated (other system files aren't updated when updating via a game, like the browser). His 2DS was probably on FW 6.3.0-12 and updated with Inazuma Eleven or Codename STEAM that require FW 9.4.0, so now he has a 9.4 FW with a 6.x Browser.
CnR Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Thanks for the help guys. So I tried doing the Browserhax but when i click on the very right of the bar screen goes green or yellow cant remember then browser just crashes. I put all the homebrew starter files on the root and it doesnt work either. Am I out of luck because of the version ?

"All homebrew starter files" I assume the 3ds folder files you kept in the 3ds folder and so on? Essentially root only needs boot.3dsx.

Ahito95 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Browserhax is a bit unstable, try again, be sure to zoom as much as possible and try tapping multiple times on the bar, I read that it helps. Clearing the browser save data isn't mandatory but also helps (you'll lose your bookmarks). According to this page, your Browser version is supported, so it should work: https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_browserhax_common

ThatAnArchyDude Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 The browser will block any and all usage if you're not on 10.2 so it shouldn't work on any of your games - this prevention was forced by Nintendo due to webkithax by yellows8 as one of many methods to run homebrew. New3DS systems can still somewhat bypass this thanks to their speed, but Old3DSes are stuck with it. That said - if you still have the means to set up homebrew some way I highly advice you to do so asap. It's much better than ram injection anyway. Actually, what you said had nothing to do with the issue. After some experimenting, I discovered that I was right. The problem was that my old 3DS did not have the updated version of the game. I solved my issue by re-saving the game in my updated 3DS, then exporting the file from my un-updated 3DS. Ummm...thanks anyway?

Homebrew ftw anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hide Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Hey there! I have been wondering, can I use this or do something like this using "browserhax"? The thing is that I updated my system in order to play other games... I understand that BrowserHax works with 10.3.0-28 U, but I have not found any thread explaining how to use the BrowserHax, Ideas appreciated. Happy new year for all~ - Hide

Pumpkinsnuffle Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 so, i am not sure what to do. i am following all of the steps as they are listed, but when i go to check my pc boxes after running the exploit all it does is show a black screen. ive tried clearing my cache/cookies. im running 9.4 on my 3ds. im not receiving either a red or green screen after running it, not sure if that means anything. any help would be appreciated!

What update of the game do you have? Because big N also patched it on game updates. If i remember correctly 1.4 XY and 1.3 ORAS but the safest play would be having no updates at all.
Ahito95 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Complete version of the firmware? RAM2Sav works if the last number of the firmware is -20, -21 or -22.

Ahito95 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Ok, so you are on a compatible firmware & game version... I don't know what the problem is, if you want you can try browserhax + Save Manager or svdt to get a full save file, more info on browserhax here: http://smealum.github.io/3ds/
