Sabre, I'm not home so I can't check IRC. Have you checked if the English batch I sent you were fine? If so, I should have everything settled shortly.

Edit: Now actively working on the Trash Bytes, should be done by next week! :D

Hello Sabre,

I wanted to know if you had plans to release source code for your next Legality Checker. It would be great to use what you've learned in combination with other programs. If you won't release source code, is there still a chance of getting a library/API of your program? The most I've been able to do as of now is parse the text output of your program for GDS legal checks, but it would be better if I had something more substantial to work with.

Either way, I look forward to your new update for the program.

I noticed in Platinum trash bytes, all Pokemon that are Pal Parked in the same set from Slot #2-6, all have the same byte #12 and #13 (+0Dh and +0Eh in PokeSav). Can anyone else confirm this?

EDIT: I notice the same pattern in D/P. Can anyone confirm this as well?

EDIT: Checking platinum bytes I noticed a pattern in byte #10 (+0Ah in PokeSav). This number is semi-linear based on slot #.

The problem I noticed (with English, mostly) is that the pattern is sometimes not linear. The number won't be incremented, so instead of AA -> AB, it will go AA -> AA.

I hypothesize that this exists in D/P as well.

EDIT: Byte #10 trash bytes by slot (2-6) that I have found so far for Platinum:

So while this information cannot be DIRECTLY used in Legality Checker to determine which slot was used, it can be used by someone to check sets of pal parked pokemon. I will provide a complete matrix with the next version, and Legality Checker will output various important bytes which should be checked if more than one Pokemon came from the same pal park set.

EDIT: HG/SS also has a linear component and set bytes.

EDIT: I have split up the trash bytes into each individual language and game version so that the program is only looping through one set of trash bytes total.

Thanks to FractalFusion at TASVideo, and thanks to Bond for getting that link to me, we have new legality checks for 3rd gen games. Bond will be helping to investigate these checks and finalize the encounter RNG calls. In addition, these checks also trickle to 4th gen, leading to yes you guessed it; EVEN MORE checks for 4th gen.

More info as we finalize it! Thanks also goes to mingot and those working on RNGReporter for doing the majority of the 4th gen research I need.

I have identified an anomaly in slot 1 trash bytes in French Platinum. It might be present in other platinum languages, as well as the other 4th gen games. If someone has a slot 1 Pokemon with this anomaly, please email the poke to me.

I would like to thank Bond for taking what FractalFusion, mingot, and others have learned about the RNG calls, and helping me to complete the puzzle so to speak. We will be adding specific checks regarding fishing/surfing/rock smash for both 3rd gen and 4th gen as well. Please keep in mind that once all of these checks are done, you will most likely NOT be able to use PID/IV option in pokesav without getting a "hacked" result.

I'm more or less done with the rest of the Trash Bytes. Only KOR remains D:

Edit: I'm done with ALL Trash Bytes EXCEPT KOR.

... Doesn't look like anyone has a finished KOR Pt/HGSS for me to use. Bleh. Can someone at least find me AR Codes for it, then?
