  1. Ho-oh = Dynablade from Kirby Ho-oh is amazing thanks to Sacred Fire... and now it is physical and runs off his stronger attack stat. Unfortunately, Stealth Rocks sealed the deal for him... which is why I'm proposing a reduction on SR's damage.
  2. Me too. Look at FR/LG... they remixed the music a lot that I might as well play RBY... the implementation of EV caps... and the nonsensical Golbat to ??? evolutions just ruined it -__-
  3. I like the GSC starters too but they don't work so well competitively, that's why. But Typhlosion was just amazing back in GSC... too bad he doesn't work that way anymore. Meganium looks cute... and Feraligatr is awesome now thanks to DDance... but Gyarados does it better. And yeah, I feel the same way about Infernape. The moment I saw his stat distribution, I was like no... another overpowered Fire type starter. -__-
  4. I'm hoping for this, but you know how Gamefreak hates some Pokemon... *stares at Flareon*
  5. I keep Double Edge on my ROCK HEAD Aerodactyl... but it doesn't offer much type coverage. But then again, I'm the person who keeps Psychic on Gengar... (I need an Energy Ball TM... and at least I'm not using Sludge Bomb -__-) There's also STAB Stone Edge for better power, but it misses sometimes and has 5-8 PP... and Aerodactyl can't afford that. Rock Slide is better for flinching and more PP... even if it does miss sometimes. Heart Scale can unlock you the three elemental fangs, but don't bother with Thunder Fang. The only one worth using is Ice Fang... although Fire Fang hits Bronzong for super effective. Fire Blast works well against Skarmory for a 2HKO with minimal special attack investment. In Platinum, you can teach Aerodactyl Aqua Tail to hit some Ground types, but the coverage is redundant with Earthquake. You can breed with Murkrow or Spearow or something for Pursuit... which catches Psychics and Ghosts that flee. All in all, I think the lead set for Aerodactyl works the best... but I've seen some people use Cursedactyl in a Sandstorm making it somewhat of a tank on both sides with specific EV investments. It somewhat works, but that's not what Aerodactyl's meant for. If you want to choose abilities, I'd go with Pressure, although Aerodactyl isn't a staller. Rock Head goes well with Double Edge, but it's not that great. Although Aerodactyl is too frail to pull it off, feel free to use Roost if you want to recover HP... Subroost MIGHT work, but Moltres does that better.
  6. I'll try... I'll try... I heard it as dogs... some said cats... and I'm now convinced they're gerbils. Anyways, remember the first episode ever? That thing flying over the rainbow is Ho-oh. I only know about Ho-oh through game lore... and that's about all.
  7. Oh right... marketing. Forgot about that aspect completely. Or they'll just whip up another batch of random Poke--- nah. If they make a GSC remake, I'm hoping for a movepool expansion (Flare Blitz Flareon!) and move tutors and all...
  8. I pick the Grass type or Water type all the time... but water first. Never the fire, despite being scarce as a type, because fire types tend to be too powerful. Had EV systems not been implemented, Blaziken would be more powerful than he already is. Kanto: the originals... Best Starter: Venusaur Worst Starter: Blastoise <--- my favorite Johto: fun fact: they all have the same stats as their Kanto counterparts... only rearranged... except Typhlosion's stats are the SAME EXACT stats as Charizard's! Johto starters are often regarded as the worst ones... but now Feraligatr can make a name for himself Best Starter: Typhlosion (as of GSC), Feraligatr (as of DPP) Worst Starter: Feraligatr (as of GSC), Meganium (as of DPP) Hoenn: had the best starters IMO Best Starter: Swampert <--- best starter overall... and my favorite Worst Starter: Blaziken (being outclassed by stupid Infernape...) Sinnoh: all of them can strike Super Effectively against each other Best Starter: Infernape <--- my least favorite >:-[ Worst Starter: Empoleon <--- my favorite one (or is the worst one Torterra? I'm not sure, but Torterra works very well with prediction)
  9. Pokemon Leaf Green
  10. No, I don't recall any hints either. I cheated for those old Pokemon and were surprised Ruby/Sapphire had them programmed in them. My friends all wanted to know where I got them... But you know, it's Game Freak. They'll screw over anyone anytime... :-/
  11. There's a lot of water animals, that's why... and they're very predictable. BTW Mudkip is a Mudskipper... I see some of those in Korea, my hometown, but I don't know their native area. Yeah, Grass is indeed creative... because we simply can't classify them!
  12. Yeah, the only hope Pidgeot has is a hold item that doubles her attack or special attack... like something called Crimson Plume or something. Pidgeot is one of my favorite birds too. A Surfing and Flying Blissey? What?! O_O
  13. Erm... no. As much as I like Pidgeot, I know it is the worst bird the game has to offer. Check out their base stats and ability and tell me which one is the better one. Here's a rant about Pidgeot <--- clicky EDIT: I'll compare them for you Name: Pidgeot Staraptor Ability: Keen Eye/Tangled Feet Intimidate HP: 83 85 ATK: 80 120 DEF: 75 70 SPATK: 70 50 SPDEF: 70 50 SPEED: 91 100 BST: 469 475 As you can see, Pidgeot loses out completely to Staraptor in every way other than defenses, but Intimidate helps out Staraptor's physical defense and Pidgeot isn't notable for surviving special attacks anyways. Useful moves relative to the Pokemon: Pidgeot: Brave Bird (bred from Staraptor -__-), U-turn, Pursuit, Aerial Ace, Quick Attack, Roost, Featherdance, Air Slash, Heat Wave Staraptor: Brave Bird, Aerial Ace, Quick Attack, Pursuit, U-turn, Close Combat Close Combat is what separates Staraptor from the other birds of his kind. Clearly Staraptor has the better advantage over Pidgeot.
  14. And what about Lugia's role with the legendary birds? It was only explained in a movie... which I did NOT see.
  15. Oh yeah... that. They're giving out all these "hints"... and watch them just own us by saying "We had you fooled all along!" *gets ready to be beaten up*
  16. Blah... I don't know. An echidna with a fiery ring apparently doesn't seem appealing for me. Typhlosion looks somewhat cute back in Gold version... but later on... the aesthetics looked somewhat dull for me. Empoleon, Kecleon, Finneon, Lumineon, etc... isn't that awesome? They should all be Eeveelutions! But still, Empoleon just looks so cool. Seriously... I'm glad a Water starter got the lead for becoming the coolest looking starter yet. Of course... this depends on your opinion...
  17. Some people have different preferences from yours... sure, I always keep my name, but some people like changing their names for like what... every 6 months?
  18. Green was really an even older version of the US Red and Blue... when it was initially released as Red and Green in Japan. They made a Blue version after... which modified a lot of stuff to make the games actually playable (also changing some sprites as well). So the Red and Blue we have now is the Japanese Blue version split into two versions... Two versions were made due to version exclusives... I don't know why we would need another Green... but Venusaur's cool...
  19. I don't know... it doesn't seem to register that for me... I think it was Gen IV's games that gave away the notion for a possible GSC remake.
  20. That's always been the case (although I think Sceptile looks better than Blaziken and I find Meganium cute and Typhlosion not so appealing)... but Empoleon looks the coolest out of all (I mean really... a penguin in tuxedo!)
  21. That's kind of mean... I like Swampert aesthetically, but yeah, Sceptile looks the best out of the three. But then again, they always do that to the water starters... Swampert rectified what was wrong with Quagsire during Gen II... although Quagsire gained Water Absorb. Swampert was SO dangerous in Gen III that so many random things packed HP Grass JUST to take Swampert down. Even without any investment in attack, Swampert countered Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence, and many other common faces of the OU environment.
  22. Pretty much. Ho-oh did play a role with the three legendary beasts... because some random lightning struck the tower with the beasts, fire burned the building, killing the beasts, and the rain fell after to douse the tower. Ho-oh revived them (he's based on a phoenix)... and he became their protector. Out of all three of them, Suicune is the closest to Ho-oh (I don't know why... does anyone know?)
  23. I beg to differ. Bibarel destroys stuff in competitive battles with his two amazing abilities. People underestimate him... but he works well as deterrents against stuff like Cosmic Power Clefable and all. Graveler is okay in UU but probably not the best choice in OU because Rhyperior does what he does better. But Golem is a staple rock Pokemon in UU... and does his job well. Staraptor... you've got to be kidding... this is the best Normal/Flying birds out there with Close Combat and Brave Bird to take down birds' common counters. I think he's tied with Swellow as the best physical normal/flying bird.
  24. What can Crobat do besides Fly and Defog? (still cannot imagine riding a bat to fly across the continent)
  25. Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres... Mewtwo if you count him as a legendary. One of the legendary beasts roam around Kanto after the E4. If you picked Charmander, Suicune is roaming. Squirtle gets you Raikou... Bulbasaur gets you Entei... With event tickets you can get Deoxys-A in FR (Deoxys-D in LG), Lugia and Ho-oh.
