My roommate caught a shiny Clefairy earlier today. None of us saw it coming; we (small group of four) were all sitting on the couch when we all slowly turned our heads to him when the sparklies were heard on his DS Lite. It was hilarious! That's literally his second shiny he's ever encountered during his entire Pokémon Trainer career (and he's been playing longer than I have). His first was a Durant. Both of these Pokémon were found not even a month apart from each other. I think my luck is finally rubbing off on him.

I believe the number of Dream Pals you can have caps out at ten. I have ten Dream Pals, and I'm unable to add anyone else unless I delete them off my list. I usually delete the ones who've been inactive for a certain amount of days-- a week at the most. Chances are I can check up on them through my Footprint Mat anyway, though.

My first shiny was also on my old Silver cart in my brick GameBoy. I barely remember how it happened; I was probably just randomly walking in the grass. I encountered a Kakuna, thinking nothing of it until I saw the sparkles. I immediately flipped out and caught it in an Ultra Ball. That was a good day. Unfortunately, my Silver cart was stolen eventually. That was an awful day. D: Fast-forward six years later. In one of my vacations to visit my family in good ol' Puerto Rico, I was playing Diamond, surfing the water route just south of Victory Road. Long story short, I was attempting to look for a Lapras there (not knowing I was looking in the wrong place!) for what seemed like hours. It was about 4 AM and couldn't sleep for some oddball reason. Eventually I switch from Surfing to Fishing, and to my complete disbelief I encounter a shiny Octillery! Since then, it seemed my luck with finding these rarities skyrocketed. I could go on and list the ones I've got over the years, but each one has its own crazy situational story and I don't want to bore anyone with them.

Oh, Emerald; no contest here. I'm actually happy I bought my copy on launch day. Everywhere I look, this game sits at a hefty price tag (for a GBA game) of around 35~40 US Dollars. Is it really that high on demand or...? Regardless, it remains one of my favorite games. Coincidentally, I started a brand new playthrough of it this morning. Six years later, it still feels oddly refreshing to play.

First of all, salutations to all! Didn't want to make a newcoming post, so I just dove right in. Anyway... I never expected to run into any shiny Pokémon so soon. Three weeks of playing the game, I encounter this fine specimen: Just outside of the Dragonspiral Tower, in the patch of grass! A chill went down my back as soon as I realized its color was off from normal. Very off. She had Sheer Force as an ability, too. I named her "Esmeralda". <3 ------------ A few days later, I snagged a Japanese Hydreigon from the GTS... so I figured I'd give the Masuda Method a try with it and a Ditto. I spent two-to-three days (due to time constraints) hatching Deinos like crazy. Exactly on my 365th egg, this baby was conceived: Top Screen: Bottom Screen: Needless to say, I'm quite happy with these two. I'm surprised I haven't found any shiny Audino, though, seeing as how many of them I've slain fainted.
