  1. first thing i would do is check to see if anything is using port 80. common culprits are skype, steam, and IIS.

I don't have anything running the ports. I also used pkmportcheck.exe (or something like that) and it says both port 80 and 53 are open

    hmm.. ok

go to a command prompt. type in this exactly:

    netstat -a -o

a list will come up of every process running on your pc and what ip it's on/listening on. look for anything using port 80 or 53 and write down the process ID. once you write down the process IDs of everything, open task manager either by right-clicking on the task bar or ctrl-alt-del. in the task manager, you can view process IDs along with the process they correspond to. compare the PIDs to the running processes and find out what is using port 53/80.

  2. hmm.. forgot about that mewtwo. is timid ok? i already have a perfect one that isn't shiny.

kyogre will go up eventually. since there's one up now, another won't be going up for a while.

I bought the adapter, dumped the save and used the new b&w pokesav to add the pkm, now I'm kinda afraid to put it the save back on my cart :D.

Can you add any .pkm file or does it have to be dumped from b&w ? because I also added the new event Celebi to get Zoroa but dont want to break my game...

My save file size is also 512kb seems normal but cant find any info about how big it's supposed to be but guessing from the sizes of hg/ss it should be ok.( I also dumped the heart gold save and added wonder cards to it and worked but that's kinda different.)

    Thanks in Advance.

if you use a 4th gen .pkm, you need to shift it first with kazo's pokeshifter program. that celebi needs to be done via transfer machine, not pokeshifter. that's different. not sure exactly how, though. the info is around ere somewhere.

  3. Good point. I'll give them credit, and you partial credit. Mind if I put your DNS server in the description?

uhh.. i guess i'll tentatively say that's ok. i'm hesitant because i know what a swarm of people from youtube would do to people trying to download stuff. yeah, go ahead for now. if there's a problem i'll say something.

e: off the bat i'd say mingot, lord landon, wichu(for pikatimer :)), vlad, M@T, shiny jirachi in no particular order. i know there's more, but that's a good start.

e2: better yet, why not just link to the threads??

  4. Yeah, that's why I put the annotation to always have 6 Pokemon with you. Also, I gave you credit in the Video description.

i appreciate it, but to be honest i would more inclined to credit the people who did the research for the gts and rng-ing. they did the work, i just found a good application for it.

"5. A black box will pop up telling you what IP address to plug into your DS. If the IP is 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1, you need to open a command prompt and type in: "ipconfig"(no quotes) and hit Enter. Your IP address will be listed there in the info that comes up."

I (along with others, I see) get this problem, "set IP to 0.0.0.0". I get my IP from the ipconfig in the command line and plug that in. I connect just fine in the test, but when I go to the GTS it says "Unable to connect to the GTS. Returning to reception counter". It doesn't give an error, I can connect to yours just fine, and my ports are open. Any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks.

the volume of people that ask this kinda prompts me to think about writing a guide on using netstat -a -o + tskmgr. it would be too confusing for most, though, i think.

e3: thank you spunk!!! i just saw randomspot's edit. i think i'm going to add your whole post into the second post. i'll update it when you do.

  5. The only values I changed were in the 'Met' tab.

I'm not sure whether Nintendo checks location by location if the Pokémon is catchable there or not, or if locations are grouped by type (all the Routes, all the Caves, etc.) -- making them look either as Hatched or PokéShifted is the quickest way to pass the legality check.

they don't check location. they also don't check ball or level either, i don't think. i know changing the ball didn't matter. can't recall if i changed the level.

that's the new default encounter type.(are there other kinds now?)

  6. that picture in your sig is of you deep in thought isn't it?

In addition cards won't save if you inject the memory akin to a card and gift when they are unencrypted during viewing, so someone would have to find the region where the encrypted data is for the man holding the gift for AR codes to be even remotely possible. The scattered memory locations would probably wreak the same havoc, as the game relies on MAC addresses for many things this generation (RNG).

i can't even begin to describe the level of hate for gamefreak after i spent like 90 minutes carefully plinking together a gigantic code for a liberty ticket byte by byte so i wouldn't miss anything and come to find out it did absolutely nothing.

  7. pokesav is a japanese program developed for use with japanese saves and only translated to english via resource hacker or whatever. it wasn't recompiled for the english release. seeing the problem here?

go grab pokegen from its forum here and use that.
