Had an infinite loop bug with in-dungeon Kecleon shop: - Picked up an item with enough money to pay (but didn't pay yet) - An enemy used Explosion right next to the shop and Kec - That destroyed an item for sale and aggroed Kec to the enemy (doesn't attack us) - Talking to him after that is impossible and triggers the regular attack for no hit no damage - And here's the bug: Leaving the shop teleports all players around the leader - as normal but does it infinitely, maybe because the item I picked is in my inventory without having been/able to be paid.

I mean, the name itself isn't related to a "Vanilla feeling" of finding a Shiny, rarity is. And I definitely won't have this feel if I don't even know I'm looking at a shiny or regional variant lol. Especially with the numerous changed sprite colors that can be confusing.
-
Btw does the Holy Lyre bypass the impossibility to recruit two of the same mons twice in REA challenge? (For shinies and regional variants). Or only Premier Gift and Camaraderie can? QoL request: would be cool if shinies could have a star appended to their name, and regional variants indicate their region in name like writing Vulpix-A. Reason I'd like that is because there's no way I'll recognize shinies in 4.0's expanded roster.

Yeah most full rewrites I've seen were, um, uncanny or puerile at best… To me Lonely Roads got it right with its NPCs' completed backstories and progression throughout the main story. I wouldn't mind it myself but I agree many wouldn't like Alpha to absorb the entirety of its edited story, and I'm not even talking of its fully original special episodes, as cool as they are! We'll see what the future holds. Honestly I'm surprised that Alphadaemon is even open to part of the idea considering the usual gameplay wizards' devout fidelity to original stories.

That sucks dude. It's possible before 3.0's launch writers and story modders weren't aware of the full potential of your hack (I was about to say your engine). I'm sure many writers would love to combine their engaging story with your engaging gameplay, and Lonely Roads is also a good fit because I heard that no postgame is planned for it - perfect for Alpha's to take over there! Maybe people would listen now. I'd ping known modders and influent story fans like PMD Gang to see if modders would be open to adapt their hack to yours or to make posts calling for writers. I'd be wary of entrusting this to an inexperienced writer-modder only capable of rewriting dialogues without extras around exposition and cutscenes considering the technical level of hacking you achieved.

Man, imagine this with Lonely Roads story and NPC interactions. Alpha's gameplay refinements are beautiful; but I'm just a tiny bit sad I'm skipping half the game, not talking to NPCs, not doing anything but prepping for dungeon mode instead of immersing myself in a cool universe like I used to... We can't have everything of course. I'm happy with what was offered to us. But I dream of a collab between Okami and Alphadaemon

4.0 will come out in many many years from today so don't worry about it for now xD But to update from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 for example, repatch a vanilla Sky Rom and give the resulting patched Alpha rom the exact same name as your old Alpha 3.0.1 rom

Noticed Pokémon in fixed rooms are random from a pool? That's insane and it theorically means one could create a whole dungeon only made of fixed rooms?! And if there's a way to make select a random fixed room in a pool for a floor, you could create a full semi random dungeon made of a big amount of cool fixed rooms - it'll give Isaac-style dungeon progression with more interesting random floors. Wondering if fixed rooms can appear randomly instead of at fixed floors, to make random special floors.

Did you disable cutscenes? Do L menu outside of dungeons -> first option -> daily cutscenes -> choose No.
-
Actually I forgot you'll crash every night, so just play every day in vanilla with your alpha save without switching until expedition lmao
-
To fix that while a fix is incoming, rename your save file to something like "vanilla to skip cutscene", copy your vanilla EOS rom, rename it with the same name as the save minus the extension. Now play the renamed vanilla rom which should have your Alpha save, pass to the next day and save AFTER seeing the intro cheers (which also crashes the game). After you saved copy the vanilla save, rename it to the same name as your Alpha rom, and you'll be able to continue as normal. Do this everyday until expedition.
-
Worked around it by going to the next day in vanilla and going back to modded after. Was probably a bug with new starters' sprites in relation to the dinner scene with Skuntank team The subsequent good morning scene crashes when Skuntank team is present so it's probably necessary to do that on each day before the expedition

Thinking about it, I never missed any attack, with any Pokemon. Whether it's on main or this special episode. I have Mud Slap and enemies never missed either.
-
Interesting, that's good to know! Though, I just had a SECOND bug with that mission when doing it again the following day: the Lotad client got k.o. and after pressing A to confirm the failed mission report, the game froze at the black screen that follows. I did complete another mission a floor prior so the next screen would have been the reward cutscene at the guild.
-
Bug with escort mission at Waterfall Cave? At target floor 7 I got the message "but where is the target pokémon?". Playing on expert with level scaling enabled, desmume
-
Bidoof never misses his Rollout but power doesn't increase between hits. Is it intended?
-
Seems Bidoof gets cut off from running in hallways when under Hail. The weather damage message also appears (mentioning it because it's not the case in Lonely Roads, which I presume uses the same patch?)
-
Hum no, what I'm saying is that you can't press L to attack after checking Pokemon data with R+Y. I didn't "press all buttons at the same time", that indeed would be dumb. So steps go like this: - Press R+Y. - Confirm with A or B to quit the info text - Using L to attack after that freezes the game.
-
Crashing Bug: Using R+Y then using the L menu to attack crashes the game. Well, freezes the game, music plays and Desmume can still fast forward but the game is frozen. The L menu never appears before freezing. Tested in Beach Cave on a shellder but does it with any pokemon.
-
- Minor: On the Ongoing Mission reminder message, cursor should be placed on No by default - The message that asks if we want to leave the dungeon should also include if we have other remaining missions if possible (just in a parenthesis would be cool)
-
Since you added exp to boss fights, would it be possible to add exp to defeat by status like poison?
-
Seems the L-Menu in dungeons don't take into account the buff from ribbons. Could make sense but reporting it in case it's not intentional
-
On desmume there is a small delay after a pokemon's attack animation resolves. Small but still noticeable. It's inevitable?
-
Small bug: H-Sneasel starts with Mud Slap whereas the main post says it should start with Metal Claw. Was maybe mixed up with regular Sneasel which should start with it instead. Edit: Oh, well it learned Metal Claw at level 6.

Not dead afaik, the next version is still being worked on and this bug has been fixed already. Just need to wait for it to come out
